Letra:
Faith, you're driving me away
You do it everyday
You don't mean it
But it hurts like hell
My brain says I'm recieving pain
A lack of oxygen
From my life support
My iron lung
We're too young to fall asleep
To cynical to speak
We are losing it
Can't you tell?
We scratch our eternal itch
A twentieth century bitch
And we are grateful for our iron lung
The head shrinkers
They want everything
My uncle Bill
My Belisha beacon
Suck, suck your teenage thumb
Toilet trained and dumb
When the power runs out
We'll just hum
This, this is our new song
Just like the last one
A total waste of time
My iron lung
And if you're frightened
You can be frightened
You can be, it's OK
Traducción:
Fé, me estás desviando
Chupa, chupa tu adolescente dedo
Sabemos usar el baño y tontos
Cuando la energía se acaba
Tan solo tarareamos
Esta, ésta es nuestra nueva canción
Igual que la anterior
Una pérdida total de tiempo
Mi pulmón de hierro
Si estás aterrorizado
Puedes estar aterrorizado
Puedes estarlo, está bien

rest in peace paul alexander, the real iron lung man!!
One of the most underrated songs of radiohead. Thom's voice power changes are amazing
1) It is not underrated but one of their most famous songs.
2) His voice is terrible.
I dont care if its underrated everytime i heard thos song it puts me to dream
@@Ingrafre ok wow dont need to be a jerk
I’m playing it on the guitar today. Fun song to play. I was switching back and forth with my 12 string and 6 string, then I realized they’re using a pedal that simulates a 12 string. Plugged mine in and jamming!
@@Ingrafre "terrible" ?
One of best Radiohead songs ever. They jam out on this one
The Bends is an amazing record. Every track is a banger. 👌
The greatest alternative rock song of all time for me, here's my take on it:
Radiohead - iron lung - the greatest alternative rock song ever in my eyes. The best and weirdest riff written in rock history, only radioheads genius guitarist could create. The chord progression here sets a tone and it is one no one else dared to venture to before them and hardly ever even after. I don't even understand the lyrics and I don't need to, it just morbidly works and in a way no other song has ever been able to replicate. There is no is no rhyme of reason to the lyrics , just lines that antagonize and get some sort of emotion sturring that is fitting with the esence of the music. As tom yorke says at the end of the second verse "this is our new song, a just like the last one, a total waste of time, my iron lung". This are the rambelings of a madman, saying whatever he feels like saying without any regard for how it will be viewed. So visirul and fearless are lyrics he dosent even care to show you that he dosent even appreciate himself that much. He says in the middle part "If you're frightend you can be frightend". He knows what hes doing is beyond weird and off the wall, not in the box like sociaty. If youre frieghtend thats on you, hes doing his thing here and in the most authentic and crazy majestic way possible. The heavy part in this song is simply a masterpiece. It's vulgar, visiral with layers of comexity and a chord progression that has never been repeated. The guitar are powerful and all over the place, as they should be. Sadly the drumming in that part is not perfect in this song. The drummer plays the ride in the heavy part, which kind of ruins it. If this song was slightly better produced this would probably be a song in my top 5 of all time. Still it has too many great, powerful and unique elements to not be considered one of the greatest ever. The guitar work in this song is the best guitar work I have ever heard in terms of arrangement and creativity. the guitarist shows all his colors and personality and dosent hold back even a bit and its a beautiful original display like no other in my eyes in that regard. in this song still sounds amazing after all this time. This song still sounds as original as it did in its inception as no one other then radiohead ever came close to anything like this. Other than the drums this song is alternative rock perfection and the purest form of personality and attitude kicking you right in the face
@@shavemangin most normal radiohead fan (i read this whole thing and believe it resonates with my soul)
@@shavemangin the guitar sounds very beatles, so psychedelic
I saw this performed live 20 years ago. This is my favourite Radiohead song and one of my favourite songs of all time. Brings back lots of memories.
how lucky and interesting you are mate...i was 15 years old 20 yrs ago, already discovered radiohead..
Same here. It’s been 20 years and still one of my all time fave songs by RH. Just Brilliant!!
I'd like to find a place to nominate this for what _I_ think it is: the most ruthlessly honest bit of self loathing in rock and roll.
+Rochester Swift I think it's intended to be a hate song towards their audience that only know 'Creep'.
Grunge: Hey, what’s that you guys up to?
Radiohead: Ummm, nothing(moping with cockney accent in which words with T&H letter combinations produce an F sound)🙄
@@rickjames5106 i’m not going to lie I found this band through creep but I thought that if one song is this good then the others had to be I was correct
@@the2ndcoming135 radiohead are cockney? bellend
@@Feynmansmentor I’m not a snitch, you American bot😂
Now, surely this song wouldn't be tied to a game where you're in a small submarine, rusty, no windows with the exception of a camera in the front, dim lighting, and coordinates to move, submerged under an ocean of blood.
RIP PAUL ALEXANDER
rest in peace Paul, what a great man he was!
This song was actually made to be the “Creep” antagonist.
I can definitely hear it
and that is right, bro
Where did you get that from?

‘Suck ...suck your teenage thumb...toilet trained and dumb...’ my favourite line from this masterpiece! Not quite sure why! It’s just so ..:good!
me too. it's so interesting
Same I don’t know why it’s just, dumb dumb, it’s amazin
*and dumb
first time i think i've felt genuinely disturbed by a song lyric. the thought of being confined to an iron lung, braindead and blissfully numb, only living to survive anymore but too numb to be bothered by the fact, it rubs me the wrong way in the best way possible. god i love this song.
I think that line meaning is roughly referring to people who are too dumb to think for themselves and go with whatever is popular
Y pensar que este temazo se hizo para demostrarle a la gente que ellos no solo vivían de "Creep".
Era un "contra-Creep". De hecho musicalmente se parecen un poco porque una es el espejo de la otra (toca lo mismo pero al revés).
A masterpiece of a song!
Already know😅
A little ironic that creep was what got me into Radiohead but now my fav song by them is my iron lung
God i love the chorus of this song so much- the guitar riff and just… his voice combines with it- its so nice
Lot of Cobain influence in this and nicely put in
Probably why I like it so much
Crazy to hear when a legend influenced by another legend of the same period
The lively parts are total Nirvana, most of the rest are straight Beatles.
IMO
Who'd feel lonely as me listening to this melancholic beauty
Was in Florence in 2000, Piazza Santa Croce: all the best songs from The Bends, all the best songs from Ok Computer and some songs from the not yet published Kid A that the audience didn't know. Best gig in my life and the best Radiohead years. Three screaming guitars, a terrific rhythm section and brilliant use of keyboards. At that moment they were the best band in the world.
Mi álbum favorito de Radiohead. No tiene desperdicio 🖤
🤔
Nada podra superar a the bends

I love this melody. A lack of oxygen from my life Support, my iron lung. I could listen to that tune over and over again
my favorite song of Radiohead to be honest, It's a true masterpiece and too underrated

Wow. This band blew my mind and I'm so grateful for their company in those weird days. The precursor days, to even weirder days.

Lol... look up iron lung... not the song.. not sure if that's exactly what it's written about but.. it had an influence
"Iron Lungs" were 1930s - 1950s treatment for polio patients....unable to breathe, so they were put in these giant metal barrel respirator things that were nicknamed "Iron Lungs", that helped the polio victims breathe...but they had to stay in them - trapped, essentially - for the rest of their lives. Thom Yorke's "Iron Lung" was the song "Creep". He and the band felt trapped by it, because rightly or wrongly it was their early signature song. He knew it wasn't their best work, not by a long shot, but he and Radiohead just couldn't get away from it.
