Played this yesterday for the first time and struggled my way to the end boss (even hit the Nether world a few times) then I discovered I really suck at Pong now lol.
I absolutely loved the beat at 9:55 since I first heard it, it really puts you on edge. Most of the time I intentionally miss the last "tempo" beat to keep it going during the boss stage
You could get a REAL perfect score on this if you didn't mode down to Hyper when tackling the boss. Other than that, missing a beat on the boss does not reset your multiplier on the bottom-left. The right one does when moding-down.
I feel like the first bit of the boss with the single paddle was harder than the rest. It seemed like the more paddles there were, the more slow and clunky their movements were and it was easier to fake them out. I generally miss a ton on the first one, miss a few on the second, and only miss once or twice on the third.
I don't think so. I only managed to do this for Transition and Descent (not recorded, yet). But Growth is really pain in the ass. Especially the boss fight. My best was 15:4 on Perfect.

Yeah, but only all 7 stages before boss fight counts to get perfect run. Anyway, to get perfect score (308,718,510), which is the highest score for this level, you have to win this battle losing at most 4 points. If you play on normal difficulty, of course :)

It'd be a lot nicer on easy mode than normal or hard, that's for sure. Otherwise I wouldn't last long

It's actually really easy once you got the pattern right. With a week of playing I got perfect.
