Mount Gambier Big 4 Blue Lake Holiday Park Big Lap On A Budget Jayco Caravan Holiday South Australia

G’day friends. We would like to begin with wishing you and your family well. We hope in the current craziness you are all keeping safe.
The sad world we live in currently has seen us recently sacrificing birthday gatherings, cruises, living our daily lives as we previously knew it. We have found ourselves distancing from everyone we would normally spend our time with, certainly not by choice. We have stayed at home, as ordered and recommended by the health professionals and government, but now that our restrictions have eased slightly, we have decided to take a break and get out of our 4 walls we have come to know so well of late.
We’ve found ourselves in the stunning Mt Gambier this week. Not for anything special but because we needed to get away from the craziness for a while, and because it has been a long time since our last holiday.
We’ve checked in to Blue Lake Holiday Park on the outskirts of Mt Gambier and what a lovely place to stay.
We couldn’t be much happier here and recommend if you haven’t been, then take a few days away and stay for a while.
The check in procedure was simple, the staff were very quick to attend to us and they are very friendly too.
Walking around the park, we found everything is so very neat. The gardens are tended to so precisely. The bottoms of the trees have lovely daffodils and other bulbs, the lawns are lush, green and kept well, there are lots of large trees around the place to shelter the sites from not so great weather and there is plenty of lighting so you don’t need your own torches.
There is a large range of facilities, including a self contained camp kitchen with all the mod cons, a double tennis court, basketball rings, jumping pillow, playground, swimming pool, games room and BBQs and picnic tables spread out within the grounds. The office has a book swap section so for anyone who has a book they would like to swap, they are able to do this. The office also has a wide range of local information pamphlets and booklets and they sell ice creams also. Win win!
There are many cottages, cabins, units, powered and unpowered and also en-suite sites available within this park. Brand new units are also going up near the entrance, so I’m sure there will always be room for us to return.
There is a laundry and some clothes lines available if it’s time to do the washing and the toilets have recently been ungraded and kept in a lovely clean condition all the time.
You’ll always see a staff member about, cleaning, tidying and servicing the facilities that are available for us to use as a guest.
The park is within walking distance to the lakes and many lookouts including centenary tower, and only a short drive to the town where you are very likely to find what you need.
Highly recommend coming here. We planned on staying only 3 nights and then head north but we are very happy here so we’ve paid for a few more nights.
Definitely worth the visit.
