I love the cyclical nature of this video. Each time he tries and fails, dies and revives. He ties a white ribbon with each attempt and persists despite it being hopeless. Sums up his whole toxic relationship with Sleep. Great reaction. ❤️ thank you for sharing.
And truth be told as people we all do it.
I still can't understand how this wasn't the song that caused Sleep Token to blow up. It's so perfect for radio. Also, "Fall for Me" and "Missing Limbs" would like a word with you about your increased threshold for becoming emotional. 😂

Aces reaction! They put so much work into the composition - it's very purposeful and patient but doesn't feel calculated, though I know it is. Heaps of music theory at play throughout. Someone said (can't remember who or where) that Sleep Token is a band for musicians and it's so true. I'd take it a step further (as a drummer myself) to also say ii is a drummer's drummer. He's such a delight to hear and watch. I've yet to show his playthroughs to a drum friend that hasn't become a fan. Of all their flavors I think Jazz Token is my favorite - Vessel and ii together are just magic.
It is not much if a stretch to say that II is a drummers drummer, based on the amount of positivity I have seen from drummers in my comments! 🙂
One of my favorites is Missing Limbs. It's a short song but man I love just hearing the acoustic guitar and vessels voice.

Something i only realised fairly recently was the link between the video aesthetic and the line from Higher: "I look for scarlet and you look for ultraviolet"... There's self references everywhere
I think the video is him trying to reach out and be the person she wants him to be, only for him to refuse and her reject him again, ad infinitum
Sleep Token are my favourite band. Ive seen them live 3 times.
This isn't in my top 3 of their songs BUT i was front row, and at the climax of this song III, Vessel and IV came together in the centre of the stage standing shoulder to shoulder jamming out, and i cried. It was overwhelming.
ST are pure catharsis.

When I say, Music is Dance, I say it as a dancer, somebody who’s not afraid of getting out on the dance floor, alone and having others feel the urge to do the same. That was decades ago, but I still dance in my kitchen. I appreciate your ST quest! I’m am along for the ride. ✌🏼😎

the choreography in this video is so mesmerizing and beautiful. that part alone gets me emotional.

@@BraindeadBreakdown I'm really looking forward to see what you think of the third album all together tbh. As a Sleep Token fan, the first and second albums are incredible, but I strongly feel that the third album is truly peak Sleep Token.
Their musicianship levelled up insane amounts between albums 2 and 3, Vessel's voice somehow got better when it was already insane, the production on the tracks got better, and they really pushed themselves and their 'sound' as a band. You can probably hear it in the tracks you've already reacted to: Ascensionism and Take Me Back To Eden. There's a reason that 3rd album exploded them in popularity and I'm excited for you to experience it
@@sparkes7293 Based on the 2 songs I have heard, I am absolutely going to love it! Sleep Token final form haha 😂 People all seem to have different opinions on which album is best etc but they all generally agree that they are all bangers!
Even though the lyrics tend to be very emotional, seeing the pure pleasure on your face that the music is giving you brings a smile to my face.
Once you get to know the song better, you will be able to not only concentrate on the lyrics more but you may be able to decipher the story that the video is telling too. How both song and video start and end the same. How the dancer has the same white ribbons on her wrists that Vessel ties onto the trees. Everything this band does has purpose and meaning. From the music, to the lyrics, to the videos and any artwork.
I hope Fall For Me wasn't too hard on you. Both the song and the video are heartbreaking. Stay safe 🤘 ✌️

This is still one of my favorite Sleep Token songs. Love it to death. Worship. Take me back to Eden is still my album of the year. I'm glad Spiritbox is only coming out with an EP this Friday and not album because I love Spiritbox as well. Right now top 3 band Sleep Token, Spiritbox, and Periphery still there. Periphery used to be number one.

A lot of ST lyrics hit home hard like that! I have been relistening to a lot of the ones I have reacted to, there are little gems like that. You are vibing and then a line comes out of no where like Mike Tyson 😂

“Too many swallowed keys will make you bleed internally someday” is always a gorgeous or naughty line also depending on your perspective.
"Seems your heart is locked up and I still get the combination wrong, or are you simply waiting to save your love for someone I am not?" is the line I wish I couldn't relate to. Seems like we've got the whole song covered here. I always point to this song as a pristine example of Vessel's lyricism. I mean, any song could be chosen, but the turns of phrase and metaphors he came up with here are mind-blowing to me.
Vessel is a true poet, I can only aspire to come up with such comparisons and euphemisms.

But now everything is on demand UA-cam so if you're not looking for something like this then it doesn't get airplay to a broader audience, it just stays in its own little wheelhouse. Shame too! Because it is so so good!

I love this song. I know what it’s like to be full of love for someone but forbidden to give it away to that person. That’s when love hurts. Vessel says the things about my emotions that I could never find the words to explain them. His lyrics has helped me make sense of my life in ways therapy never could. I’m moved by every line. He’s one of us and ST has kept me company through rough periods over the last few years.
You gotta stop apologizing for your reaction to the musicality, even if it gives you a different internal feeling than the "vibe" of the song. If the instrumentation is what excites you, then be excited! :) we appreciate your insights and commentary regardless of the subjective vibe of the song!
