Getting a set of Kotobukiya MSG detail parts could be good for covering the plugs on the backpack of the Rebawoo. Maybe just armor panels or vents~ just an idea!
This is my first year of gunpla building. Here's a list of everything I've built since March. HG Grimgerde HG Hyakuri HG Try Burning Gundam No-grade 1/100 Overflag HG Schwalbe No-grade 1/100 Barbatos HG Sengoku Astray Gundam HG Freedom Gundam HG Genoace HG Unicorn Gundam (Unicorn Mode) MG Exia Dark Matter HG Barbatos 6th Form HG Gusion Rebake HG Kimaris HG Geara Zulu (Angelo Sauper Custom) HG Zaku II Thunderbolt version with Big Gun PG Unicorn with LED Unit (My favorite build) MG Wing Gundam Zero HG Ryusei-Go HG Graze Ein HG Barbatos Lupus And I got an MG Phenex for Christmas which I am currently working on. I also own three models which I have not built yet: RG Wing Gundam, Advanced grade Genoace, and HG Gyancelot.
Oh man, I just got into Gunpla this past December although I built my first kit during the summer. NG 1/100 Barbatos. I hope to have that fantastic of a year building gunpla as well. I see a lot of IBO kits. Any particular reason for that? Also any tips for a guy who is just beginning? I'm sure there are still some things that are fresh on your mind since you only started a year ago.
I have a lot of IBO kits because it's my first and favorite gundam series. I also love their designs, and they're the cheapest HG kits out there. I can't think of many tips to give you since I kept it simple with my kits this year. I only used some hobby snippers, a hobby knife(That works very well to clean nub marks), and some markers. First of all, you should buy some markers. Grey and black gundam markers to panel line (you can look up guides of that on youtube). And buy a set of regular marks too. I use them to mask some areas where nub marks used to be (the usually white areas of exposed plastic). For example, if there's an ugly area on a red gundam, just use a red marker on it. It'll soak into the wound and make it hardly noticeable. Also, buy your kits on amazon.com. It's the cheapest and fastest way to get Gunpla. And consider getting amazon prime if you can afford it. For I think around $100 a year, you get free, two day shipping on all prime items (which is almost everything on amazon). That's all I can think of now. I'll let you know if I think of some other tips.
what do you think of the phenex? nub marks arent very fun on that kit, they show up everywhere because its plated gold. :( ive been slowly building one since like, mid last year lol
Barbara the Basin Well, I actually haven't built much of it yet because I've been busy. I bought a golden gundam marker to mask the nub marks, which I haven't used yet, but from what I hear it works well. I also wear latex gloves while building it so I don't get my damn fingerprints all over the thing, lol.
Yeah! Major fist pump when you announced Dynames as your #4! I built the NG 1/100 version but am also a fan of the MS, its pilot, the series... It's just that cool! The Origin kits are amazing with so much surface detailing and the MG quality of the build so I can definitely relate to your choosing Char's Zaku II as your #1.
Took me a bit to figure out why Char storing his extra bazooka ammo on his shield bothered me so much. They're on his shield. Which is meant to block incoming attacks. And he's attached highly-explosive munitions there. Anime logic? Anyway, my top 2 favourite kits of 2016 are the HGBF Shia 00 Qan[t] Gundam and the NGIBO Grimgerde. Other top kits I built last year but didn't come out then include the MG Gundam the Origin and RG Trans-Am Raiser.
Ben N my friend, let me direct you to the glory of the Gp02 gundam "Physalis". the radiator shield to be exact...take a close look at whats at the back of the shield...
A nuclear warhead and the cooling system... but that doesn't surprise me when Kira and Athrun were both sitting right on top of nuclear reactors in their big units. Idiots. I _would_ expect smarter of Char, though.
Ben N Ben N thats the problem, i felt the full-frontal we knew in unicorn may not be char himself. An actual char clone in UC itself. Then again, placing a rocket or even a nuke behind a shield is beyond levels of stupidity. On a side note, yeah i kinda forgot about the nuclear powered Seed mobile suits. Im not sure since i didnt watched Seed till the end.
I picked up the Char's Zaku II HG on your recommendation. I can't wait to build it when it gets here along with my MG Wing Zero and HGUC RX78 revive. I hope to pose them together for sure. Thanks for the awesome video.
The HGTB Psycho was my 4th kit and I would have loved it - If the stand for it hadn't broken off into it. Just moved it to take a photo with my 5th kit, the HGTB Full Armor, and it came right off. :(
Have you thought about selling your Psycho Zaku since you dont like it or want to display? Seems like such a waste to be incomplete collecting dust on a shelf :(
Yeah, that Re-Bawoo sucks, but the regular HGUC Bawoo is a fairly good kit for it's time. I mean, it's from 2000s and it has a quite good articulation for its time. If you mind for these older hguc, you might need to try that kit.
My first gunpla i built was the HG 1/44th Sengoku Astray Gundam and boy did I break it not long afterwards. The shoulder armor is too big for its size. And the hip polycap cracked. And it's v-fin.... *shivers*. On a plus side, I do now have two swords for my custom Infinite Blazing Gundam(custom Try Burning Gundam). Long story short, if you get the Sengoku Astray, better get used to having it in one pose.
You should consider panel lining the MG Zeta (actually all of your kits). Im currently building it and believe me that it looks way better with the lines.
+Gus Mendez didn't panel line any of these because the lining marker I have is a black brush tip one. I didn't use it because (a) I prefer grey panel lines and only had this because it came in a marker set, and (b) it's also a really shitty marker. Seriously, the brush tip markers are awful. Really streaky and inconsistent, and it makes the kit look less like it's been panel lined and more like it's just really grimy. And not in a good way.
Both. I love the thin silver/gold ones for panel lining over dark area. Should check out what your craftstore has. Use mechanical pencil and cut the tip of the graphite in an angle for extra thin gray panel line, it stays on pretty well even if you don't top coat it.
Hearing the Qubelay referred to as Male seems... odd. I might be seen as weird for this, but i usually refer to an MS with the same pronouns as it's most notable pilot. For example: The Kshatriya, Gundam Alex, Palace Athene, the aforementioned Qubelay, Hyakuren, Hyakuri & sometimes Tieira Erde's Mobile Suits, (Even though Tieria is male, He could/did pass for Female) are all Female in my head.
what do you gonna get for next year ?, personnally if you like details get the full armor thunderbolt, just a reminder tho the v fin is a bit thin and the sub arm cant move but overall i enjoyed the kit, its blocky and full of paneline i hope you may like it :)
+Errorcutive I have no plans to get either of the Thunderbolt MGs at any point in time. I will however pick up the LED version of the Origin Gundam and probably also the Freedom 2.0 later this year.
This t'was my first year.... wait no second year, started summer last year, got 13 kits since then HG astraea type f(recomendation) HG astray gold frame amatsu mina(recomendation) HG dantalion(first kit I bought and build form my favorite seller) HG astaroth(second kit I bought and built from my favorite seller, together with dantalion, liked dantalion more, but overall didn't l;ike either due to IBO frame stuff) HG Cherudim Saga type GBF(really like 00 and so I got this) HG transient gundam(thoguht it'd be cool) RG basnhee norn(wanted to one up someone with an RG unicron) HG 00 sky(thoguht it'd be cool, ended up hating it, mostly the new parts) MG 00 7s/g(loved it) MG 00 qan[t] full saber(bought it just after christmas, uuhh, repetitive after 00, but I liked it more) RG 00qan[t](first standard RG, refreshing after the tight mess of my banshee, refreshingly so, definently getting all 3 RG setsuna suits) HG Seravee GNHW(even though I love 00, second HG00 kit I've built) HG Arios GNHW(third HG00 kit, love both of them) and next up I'm thinking HG zabaniya and harute... or I'll give up both for 1/144 NG valvrave 3
Mega Cat I thought everyone liked the Reborns Gundam. It's such a sleek and elegant design plus a gun cannon taped to the back. Sheer awesome if you ask me.

+ZakuAurelius That's actually a really good idea! Thanks for the tip!
Hi Zaku!!

That wallet mate.

Its funny that theres an HG rebawoo and a RE bawoo
wh at
The origin Zaku's are awesome high grade kits.
Took me a bit to figure out why Char storing his extra bazooka ammo on his shield bothered me so much.
They're on his shield.
Which is meant to block incoming attacks.

I think the idea is that our lord and savior Char doesnt get hit. unless hes fighting Amuro Ray, or Haman Karn with 15 funnels.
gerubax to be exact, only the bazooka barrel is stored behind the shield, the bomb is stored somewhere in the back of the chest
I picked up the Char's Zaku II HG on your recommendation. I can't wait to build it when it gets here along with my MG Wing Zero and HGUC RX78 revive. I hope to pose them together for sure. Thanks for the awesome video.
+abraham aguilar glad you liked the video! The Zaku is amazing, you'll love it!

HG Char Zaku II is maybe my favorite HG kit of all time too. Awesome articulation and weapons!
This is why I just keep my Zeta 2.0 in wave rider mode
My favorites were the Try Burning Gundam, Geimgerde, Barbatos Lupus Rex, Strike Freedom Gundam, and the Wing Gundam Hongo
All way love your videos and they come out right on time when im bored
Have you thought about selling your Psycho Zaku since you dont like it or want to display? Seems like such a waste to be incomplete collecting dust on a shelf :(
+Joshua Jeffries I don't dislike it THAT much. I just stuck it in a back corner behind my other Zakus to fill out the display.
As a 40k painter, what zaku would be the best to get?
Yeah, that Re-Bawoo sucks, but the regular HGUC Bawoo is a fairly good kit for it's time. I mean, it's from 2000s and it has a quite good articulation for its time. If you mind for these older hguc, you might need to try that kit.
CHAR CHAR CHAR CHAR CHAR

Channel 2S: Gunpla News and Reviews go to art n craft store and get 0.3mm markers of varies color instead of using Gundam markers.
+Trevor Ho are those paint markers though? Or ink?
Both. I love the thin silver/gold ones for panel lining over dark area. Should check out what your craftstore has. Use mechanical pencil and cut the tip of the graphite in an angle for extra thin gray panel line, it stays on pretty well even if you don't top coat it.
+Trevor Ho hmm... I'll look into that. Thanks!
Hearing the Qubelay referred to as Male seems... odd.
I might be seen as weird for this, but i usually refer to an MS with the same pronouns as it's most notable pilot.

+fishpop not weird at all. Generally I do the same, although some MS like the Qubeley I go back and forth on.
Fair enough. I flip-flop between genders aswell, specifically with Tieria's Mobile Suits.
so I just bought the YMS-03 WAFF TODAY IM PRITTY STOKED ABOUT BUILDING IT I AM ACTUALY WORKING ON MY ZAKU 2 MG 2.0 HOW IS THE MG GM SNIPPER 2?
+Jonathon McFarlin IT'S PRETTY GREAT SO FAR.
Good I'm looking at geting one my self I have the high grade of it and it's a great model
For me, fixing seamlines and other things are the fun part of building.
what do you gonna get for next year ?, personnally if you like details get the full armor thunderbolt, just a reminder tho the v fin is a bit thin and the sub arm cant move but overall i enjoyed the kit, its blocky and full of paneline i hope you may like it :)

I think the rebawoo looks great, because the seam line on the head looks like a clone trooper visor
This t'was my first year.... wait no second year, started summer last year, got 13 kits since then
HG astraea type f(recomendation)
HG astray gold frame amatsu mina(recomendation)
HG dantalion(first kit I bought and build form my favorite seller)
HG astaroth(second kit I bought and built from my favorite seller, together with dantalion, liked dantalion more, but overall didn't l;ike either due to IBO frame stuff)
HG Cherudim Saga type GBF(really like 00 and so I got this)
HG transient gundam(thoguht it'd be cool)
RG basnhee norn(wanted to one up someone with an RG unicron)
HG 00 sky(thoguht it'd be cool, ended up hating it, mostly the new parts)
MG 00 7s/g(loved it)
MG 00 qan[t] full saber(bought it just after christmas, uuhh, repetitive after 00, but I liked it more)
RG 00qan[t](first standard RG, refreshing after the tight mess of my banshee, refreshingly so, definently getting all 3 RG setsuna suits)
HG Seravee GNHW(even though I love 00, second HG00 kit I've built)
HG Arios GNHW(third HG00 kit, love both of them)
and next up I'm thinking HG zabaniya and harute... or I'll give up both for 1/144 NG valvrave 3
I'm on the fence about the Hi-nu. I like both versions of the Nu Gundam, but I'm just not sure which to pick.
+Zeroconvoy get both! The HGUC Nu is just as great as the Hi-Nu from what I've heard, even better if you get the HWS.
Nothing about the vid but I think the no 9th gundam looks badass
The worst kit I made this year has to be the RG Zeta gundam. The build was one of the worst I ever had and even after building it it felt broken.
My fav of 2016 is HGUC Zeta Plus C1.
My favorite was IO Frame Shiden, least is the Reginlaze.
11:39 WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
i've been building gunpla since last year, but i only built 2 HG :c
My favorite was the MG Freedom 2.0
I like Reborns Gundam
(Fight me)
Mega Cat I thought everyone liked the Reborns Gundam. It's such a sleek and elegant design plus a gun cannon taped to the back. Sheer awesome if you ask me.
the gm 3 was my first kit
100 % agree with number one
Well guess what I only built 1 yes 1 mg gundam in 2020
zeta I just a basic looking Gundam like the rx78
Kinda cringy when u say sinanu. I pronounce it shinanju instead of sinonju
maybe babby should consider investing in an airbrush and paint instead of whining constantly about stickers
+opsimathics if I did that, I'd be constantly whining about unnecessary masking instead.
