Try winding it much slower, for dentex which are the same as snapper in NZ'. A turn a second or about 1 metre per second. Ten winds then drop again . in NZ' 100 gram orange with orange skirt is the best colour, and the skirt is attached in the middle hole, and the fluorocarbon trace is tied to the narrow end of the jig.
