@@mikealdag7309 You're living a fuller life than I have right now. But, you gotta feed yourself to keep everyone alive and healthy They need their brother in arms to remain a constant in their lives,.
Kinda reminds me of a dog that I met during a tour in Afghanistan. She was almost all white, a few spots of black. She took some beef jerky from me, ate it, then rolled onto her back. I squatted down to scratch her chin & chest when a member of the Afghan National Police came up and said “Dog dangerous”. I slowly turned my head to the ANP and said “I’m dangerous, the dog isn’t”. Then went back to petting her. Few weeks later I seen her again at the same district center. One of the ANP threw a small rock at her, missing. I proceeded to pick up a pebble then whizzed it sidearm, smacking the Afghan between the shoulder blades. When he turned around he seen me walking at him quickly. I stopped about 6’ away and said “Did you like that?”, the Afghan replied “No”. “Then neither did the dog, don’t do it again”, then walked away. I seen her again a couple months later, with a litter of puppies in tow. She had a tick on her right eye brow, swollen with blood. She sat there calm as can be while I burned the tick off of her. Every time I was at that District Center she, and later her pups, were my constant shadow. She was incredibly useful, especially when I was pulling guard at night. Really wished I could’ve brought her & the pups back Stateside with me. Spots & her pups were a bright spot during my deployment.
Dogs are nothing but livestock in that culture. The Shafi`i and Hanbali scholars say that the whole dog is essentially impure. Some scholars say that any liquid excreted by the dog is impure (not the dog itself). The saliva of the dog is extremely impure. "If a dog licks the vessel of any one of you, let him throw away whatever was in it and wash it seven times." This why the base patch on the fur missile reads 'DO NOT PET' and the patrol collar reads in Pa5htun 'PULL MY EARS'
@ “Pull My Ears”!!? Now that’s funny. My MP Plt didn’t have a Kilo element, although I had been on a few jumps with Kilos, their Fur Missiles just chilling in their harnesses.
I'll never understand cruelty to animals. I've rescued a few dogs and cats here in the US due to people abusing them, leaving them to die, or were actively trying to kill them.
Hope there are more stories about Grimm and Jack, making their story more about their healing these stories always seemed to be too short. Really hope this writer takes this story much much further.

A 68kg Bull-Arab named Sable because of her coats colour, was my best ever canine companion though she was not trained to hunt as many of her breed were. Akitas are not easy dogs… Good for you! What do you think is the most important thing to know about Akita dogs? Imho they are nothing like GSDs..Thank you..
@toneenorman2135 to many things about them like they are highly intelligent, once the bond is made they are extremely protective of family, you never need entertainment cause they always play and act goofy, extremely quiet as they seldomly bark and only do so if there's a threat, like the one Akita that I had in 13 1/2 yrs only barked 15 times ! Seriously !, but training is all the time every walk, every day of their lives they love to learn every day, there is so much about them that's mis-understood and alot of myths it's crazy insane lol, like one of their ways is regardless if you go out the door for 1 minute or 4 hrs they always greet you with a playful energetic ur home Yippee dance and goofiness, it's just how they are, I'd say hardest thing about them is the shorter than normal lifespan most dogs live past 12 yrs akitas generally live only to 10 yrs but depending on life style and exercise and medical care, and proper diet they can live longer like dreamer lived to 13 1/2 yrs of age and his little brother was 12 1/2 yrs of age, they generally are a layed back calm breed, but can move extremely fast when needed, as I tell others proper exercise daily, train daily, as in teach tricks and most importantly talk to them trust me they understand words big time and even know how to read sign language if you teach them, I can fill this comment page with to much stuff lol, some have said do videos about what I know sorry but camera shy lol anyhow akitas are an amazing breed, they make laugh when your down, always greet you with love and respect, the only down fall with akitas is that you must make it clear properly that your the dominant alpha, your the boss not them because that will lead to huuuge issues, and I use the golden rule nose tap, and other tricks like alpha male and female holds, all which were taught to me by a certified trainer that was ex military turned civilian police dog and security expert many many many yrs ago when I was very young.
@toneenorman2135 and also I don't know everything about akitas, but what I do know is hands on practical 30+ yrs of being owned by an Akita and doing my research and not just interfret lol, but hard copy books, trainers, rescue operators, handlers of every kind, and yes some knowledgeable vets which are few and dang near like ghosts lol, but like the old saying goes every breed is not for everyone, all have that one breed that just clicks for them, akitas are mine but then I take in all the list causes patch them and some stay and some leave to other homes, don't get me wrong I love all furbabies but my dedicated own preferred breed is the Akita, but I've had many many many ........ Many different breeds and again previous owners must understood their breeds and did NOT do their due diligence about that specific breed, the parents of that dog etc.
This was super good! Thanks so much. I’m guessing it’s original you don’t exactly say. I hope there is more to come. Definitely subscribing and turning on notifications ❤
Awesome story! I started listening out of curiosity, but then hung on every word. A great story of second chances. Grimm reminds me of our rescue dog that was really mistreated. Stella was given a new life and home by us and eventually learned how to trust people and know what love is. She’s on in years now, but totally different than she was when we first got her years ago.
This story reminds me of how the current military now adopts out their military working dogs instead of putting them down, if your a veteran you can adopt one for free, many mwd’s suffer from ptsd symptoms and when match with a soldier suffering from the same condition they seem to form an unbreakable bond because the soldier and the mwd have experienced the same thing. On the fun side though, I’ve never seen a grisly hardcore marine who doesn’t turn into a huge pushover talking baby talk when they come across a super cute puppy! America breeds some strange warriors! Ferocity in combat but gentle when it comes to animals and children, especially when they’ve been neglected.
I was hoping the narrator could work a female (for Grim) into the story. She would have a huge litter of pups, and the military base would be full of soldiers vying for a chance to raise (spoil rotten) one of Grim's pups. Pups, all of which had inherited their fathers ferocity and loyalty. A base known to all as a fool's endeavor.
We domesticated dogs. They will always feel like we’re the same as them. Dominant to them, but part of the pack. They might be timid, but they WANT to trust us, love us, and follow us. Humans who abuse that…deserve no mercy. The merchant who left him like this… would fall down a lot of stairs, and then accidentally fall on unshielded power lines a few times.
Maybe they should have broadcast that they had the Corgathian War Hound on Duty and did the invading force "really" want to invade? They might have had second thoughts and left for an easier target. PLEASE, let me know when the next story comes out with Jack Harper and Grimm. Hope Grimm gets some kind of "flac jacket" for the next fight. WELL DONE!!!
As a person who's family had alot of large dogs. I mean ALOT. When I heard how large this dog was the first thing I thought of was. What does "walkies" and bathtime look like.😂
I am old enough to remember listening to radio stories at home and in the car in the late 40's and very early 50s; belore TV put video to the audio in many homes. This is very much like that except for the artwork. I like this new artform. The visual art above gives the imagination a kick stark and lets the mind imagine how things would look at different parts of the story.
When my friends grandson got back from Afghanistan he spent weeks just soaking daily in the bathtub. He was scarred from head to toe. Shot 4 times, 6 mos. of recovery than mustered out and back to the states. Lucky to be alive. The families dog and cat took turns never leaving him alone. He now has a service dog keeping him from eating his gun. His dog is a rescue from a pit ring. Big, ugly, scarred badly, cuddle baby. But he's protective of his family and he loves his grandma (she brings the best treats 😂)
I'm sure I've heard this story before only thing was the soldier found an abandoned alien hound that had been left behind after the battle and decided to look after him. They developed a strong bond . They went into action together and Grimm always knew what to do in battle

Nice story, except that "the sun rose, casting long shadows on the base" at least 3 times. And "Grim surged forward" at least 2 times. Still, not bad for AI.
Most of us humans have no time for those who mistreat their dogs, so as a warning to all aliens, do this at your peril.
Agreed. I have 2 Tibetan Mastiffs. If I see anyone mistreat any dog they will have a bad day.

It seems to me that Grimm is an allegory to how most people treat war-torn soldiers.
I think that was the point
I got called a Baby Killer and refused a jab after 2 tours in Vietnam; 23 months of unpleasant and then people behaved like white trash. 1955-1968.
