This light appeared as I was in the outside lane on the motorway... pulled over at the next lay-by and googled it... hoping it was the service light as it has been done fairly recently... thank you ... light is off
Thanks. My 2018 Ford T250 doesn't explain this in its manual. Everything is the same, except a blinking wrench appears by the total miles, and it takes about 30 seconds to blink.🤟
Why would it come on in the first place? Oil change? Just wondering, as mine came on last night, but I changed the oil in the summer and I havnt really done many miles…probably 1000 maybe? All the best 👍🏾🇬🇧
It might be that it wasn’t reset when it was changed last time. Even if the light isn’t on you should reset it every time you change the oil so the computer can reset itself. Hope this helps 👍
The cog with an exclamation mark is the Powertrain Dashboard Warning LIGHT This dashboard symbol may illuminate red or yellow / amber on the Ford Transit / Connect. A cog with an exclamation mark inside indicates a malfunction with the powertrain, a sensor or software fault. A malfunction with the powertrain may see the vehicle lose a certain amount of power, but will continue to run. If light flashes whilst driving, avoid heavy acceleration or deceleration and gently reduce speed. Symbol may illuminate with the engine warning light MIL. If both lights illuminate together, a continual reduction in power is likely, possibly followed by the engine turning off. Have vehicle checked by a technician.
No it won’t. That’s a common issue with these. The aftermarket pad sensors sometimes don’t work so you’re better off leaving the original one in place if it’s not been worn through. Otherwise you just have to modify it into a loop or put up with the warning.
@@redram52 I've since been told that the service light is more or less kicks in automatically based on mileage. It's not a warning light alerting to trouble which I first thought as van was only serviced a month ago..

Does this work for a brake pad wear light? as I’ve just replaced pads and all wires are intact just can’t seem to get the light off

It's probably something intermittent in the management system. Wants plugging in to see if there's any fault codes stored.

Try keeping the pedals down a bit longer after the spanner stops flashing.
