Its only Kiambu that has a large population relative to other counties in Kenya, it's not a favour...the formula will favour Mombasa, Kakamega, Bungoma, Kisii, Meru, Machakos, Nakuru, Uasin Gishu, Kajiado, Nairobi, Siaya, Kisumu etc more than the rest of the Mt Kenya counties...it's not a formula to give Mt Kenya more money but equalise all Kenyans..!

We cannot bring down the more developed counties to uplift the undeveloped ones. A formula should be implemented to enable equitable distribution of resources without further disadvantaging anyone.
Me I will go for one man one vote one shilling formula but after considering the marginalized areas getting some development funs for infrastructure. But remember for those marginalized areas to grow they must allow other tribes to live with them because there is no need of having large tracks of land and you do nothing about it waiting for others to work and claim your share from their sweat.
The much hyped high population of My. Kenya is cosmetic. I challenge the Mt. Kenya Mps to first demand that the One Man One Vote One Shilling be preceded with a critical Biometric Census to ascertain true population in every locality.
There can be no justice without truth and there is no big lie in Kenya than the inflated population of the Mountain flock which has been used to benefit them at the expense of other regions.
Exactly! Systemic Manipulation of Population Census data must be off the table, for starters! The numbers have been manipulated from time immemorial. There's an unhealthy political interest in doing so.

ONE man, one shilling one vote is the way to go. In developed countries, the more money a county pays, the more revenue/development they receive. A county that has a smaller number of people contributing to the economy is usually left behind in development since they are not contributing to the nation building. Mutahi Kahiga is very right when he asks, "Who baked the cake?" In Kenya it's opposite, the citizens who get up very early in the morning to work and contribute in the Economy by paying taxes are getting back less revenue than the ones who sleep all day and do nothing to help in building the nation.

It's common sense that if you work more you get more rewarded ..the current formula discourages hardwork...it's akin to Ujamaa system in TZ that brought them down ..what if the person contributing a lot slows down and also waits to get a share? Who will then bake the cake...why are some comfortable demeaning others when sharing the cake is at stake but aren't saying how they'll contribute to the baking? It means they're comfortable being and staying lazy and wants to be "carried" by others without complaining!
Mount Kenya should be allocated 70%of the total revenue, that's when they will get happy

Unless the way Kenya is being run changes, one man,one vote, one shilling will not benefit any mwananchii (maybe a very negligible bit) but will benefit the political class (the fact that they are a class shows how out of touch they are). That is why a politician can shamelessly advocating for taxing cars as an income generating property, rather taxing actual income, because he is salivating on how that will allow more money to flow into his pocket. The only sense I have seen for taxes on vehicles is for road maintenance. That is however normally achieved through a fuel tax, and the fuel tax has already been doubled.
I think these outcry from Mt Kenya is caused by the more than 1B given to Kikuyu constituency under Muchungwa

Hassan is just talking hot air, the less populated counties have equalization fund. Resources should be shared equally, what’s wrong with that? Look at counties like in western, nyanza, Nairobi and central, very populated yet they receive so little. Central supports the county’s economy immensely yet when it comes to resources it receives the least.

Mount Kenya will not bare the burden of taxes for the rest of Kenya. We are not going to be fleeced to build other areas while the majority of us are suffering. That is not going to work. If Coast or Garissa want money, they can go tax the home guards. Those are the people who stole the entire country. The Mau Mau paid for the freedom of this country with their blood and got nothing for it, now you want us to pay with tears and sweat. Cdf was created to give orpottunity to those areas that might not support government to realize developement, one man one shilling takes away that.
Common sense:People normally migrate to areas where ammenities are... It therefore logical that areas with less population also have less developement. Taking money to areas with large is simply continuing with the same thing.
And people should be served, so the more they are or migrate to, the more they should get...why contribute without sharing equitably...the current formula is equivalent to Ujamaa that killed TZ... everybody stopped working so that they receive, but from who? This encourages laziness
