Meathook and farewell were why I went Bant. Broker's Ascendancy soft counters meathook, and an offer you can't refuse is a good answer to an expensive sweeper (late enough that 2 treasures don't wreck you)
Brokers is just too slow imo. Not only can it be tricky to actually play it on 3 with its mana reqs (and you'd rather be playing another 3 drop), you really need it to have survived and gone off for 2-3 turns before you're really "safer" vs meathook. Every time i tried this modification I had a weaker turn 3 and the oppoent would just be able to easily pay for one extra mana or two for meathook by the time the brokers was getting to the point where everyone had plenty of counters. Maybe if I stuff more counter spells in there instead...
@@samh7545 When there was plenty Treasure makers, my Jetmir deck strategy against Hook was to play Stimulus Package and make the tokens insta speed in oponents turn, then attack, preferably with Rabble Rousing hidding Jetmir I don't know if that's still possible, have to try. Maybe Reflection, Wedding, Emperor etc can produce enough tokens to have big kill turns Btw, I found that Manaform Hellkite is surprisingly good in that kind of shells where you have very little actual creatures
Yeah most people tried Broker's ascendancy and the conclusion is it's too slow. On the draw against aggro, it's way too slow. Against heavy removal it's not performing well. Most of the time you end up wanted to play a good 3 drop over Broker's ascendancy.
@@KayleJudicator I play one in my 4 color Sphinx Domain pile cause it goes well along Zur, which in turn is there cause the Leylines. I find it funny putting counters on itself... :p It's the only deck that has it
That deck is a lot of fun, very explosive, if it kicks off. The Defiler hasn't pulled its weight for me so far, so replacing that guy with Rite of Harmony worked for me, lots of nice card draw that way.
Cool deck! I wonder if brutal cathar could be worked in somehow. It would give a pinch of removal, still counts as a creature, which adeline and the queen like. It's also a human which katilda likes.
Brutal cathar is not well positionned at all right now. It's a good tempo aggro removal card, right now aggro aren't fast enough and cut down basically makes the card look bad. Skyclave would see play as she doesn't return the card she exiled but Brutal catar is tough to play.
I'm looking forward to playing that deck once we get the Blue/Black painland, just feels so bad to me being forced to run so many taplands in a 2-colour deck. I'm going to enjoy using it vs control decks in Bo3 with triple Jin, and a fistful of Duress+Spell Pierce post-sideboard!
sucks that meathook is so good against go wide strategies that they're basically not viable. but at the same time I can't help that feel they would run rampant without meathook to keep aggro in its place 🤔
@@mariand.1087 If it was an efficient deck, it would actually pull result at tournament, spoiler alert it doesn't and no pro players is playing it. Jetmir has no protection and doesn't do much on an empty board, he doesn't boost toughness which is pretty essential because of meathook. It's basically a winmore card, it only does something when you already have a good board. Emperor is way more consistent against opponent that interact. Sure Jetmir will work in low silver against random decklist.
@@KayleJudicator I guess it depends on how you sequence the plays in the deck. My build is still WIP to get to a final state (those damned wildcards lol) but the way I play it is cast rabble rousing when the opponent is tapped out or almost tapped out and when I have at least 5 critters to attack so I can immediately trigger rabble and get the free card with it. And rabble usually finds Jetmir, so he gets insta dumped on the board and GG, everything gets double strike and trample. This means that even if all the critters were 1/1's before the attack, they are now suddenly 4/1. It's pretty fun to play and very consistent in the game plan. Up until Jetmir ends on the board the opponent will be focused either spot removing the other enablers or playing boardwipes so they won't have much of a board presence if any. In any case, the Queen allows me to recover after a boardwipe (I run three copies of her) by I can just double spelling after a wipeL get her out first plus either a resolute and a join the dance and I have a full board the turn right after the boardwipe happened.
When you go wider Broker's Ascendancy is better than Rabble Rousing because it lets you race The Meathook Massacre. You can also include Protect the Negotiators to try and prevent sweepers.
Veteran and possibly Flare are better if you go all in on Defiler of Faith. Rite requires a little bit more mana production, so perhaps better with more Humans, Sagas and Katilda.
Too bad all these three drops leave no room for Welcoming Vampire, which would be great with Wedding Announcement or the Reinforcements to draw in the opponent's turn.
So I built a deck that’s soooo fun and it kinda breaks standard lol but I don’t want everyone playing it because it’s that good I want you to try it out but not post a video but let me know what you think. Please, how can someone be so ignorant about his own skills lmfao, the lucidity is lacking here. There is countless pro players trying countless decks to solve the meta and you think you find a mysterious deck that would break the meta ? You just don't. If something is not played on the competitive scene and doesn't pull any result at tournament, it's not because the best players didn't think about it, it's because it's bad. An out meta deck will always perform a bit better than it should because it's out meta, the sideboard of the best decks aren't directed to beat it and so it has the advantage of being unexpected.
Having a King, Queen and Emperor in your deck provides a royal amount of value.
Don’t forget wedding invitations! Seems like a royal wedding
i see what you did there lol
It's a card game, so arguably, all three in hand is a royal flush
Man, that triple Hullbreaker Horror was brutal. 😅
Alright, that play with the triple Hullbreaker into Firestorm was pretty cool. I wouldn't even be mad

I like token decks however meathook massacre is a very common card nowadays and with the wipe board its complicated to regain your board again...

That title triggered S8 PTSD...
It's all about dodging Meathook with these decks. That card is like a sweeper and 2 Time Warps combined, against something like this.
This was a sweet showcase! I enjoy the play queue games, it provides a lot of variety value
*Me holding a like*: You dropped this, King

I made a brawl deck around the queen. It doesn't often work out well but when it does it's a lot of fun
I made one with Katilda as commander, often i get the queen in my games and the ramp with all the humans overwhelms the opponents most of the time.

I play this but splash red for Jetmir. Great finisher!
Yeah there's no way jetmir isn't worth the splash
Same here, Jetmir instead of Emperor, it's an instant concede, I never actually get to deal lethal when that happens.

that meathook massacre discard at 6:37 :(

Kind of surprised to not see a Jinnie Fae or two in here for the token theme, must not have want to sit though those triggers I guess.
No need for any other king but you Luca 💯
thoughts on lantern flare, rite of harmony, or lunarch in this deck?

I am looking for Magic Carbs. Where can I get them?
I spent like 15 minutes trying to figure out why Mango was on the thumbnail before I remembered game of thrones was a thing
best token deck is selesnya enchantments with hallowed haunting.
Reckon this is worth revisiting in light of Meathook getting banned?
my exact thought
wow this looks fun
have you considered Jinnie Fay for this deck?
I have!
Now with Meathook on the ban, is this competitive?
Wouldn't go that for, but certainly a good thing for the deck.
Missed lethal in match 4 by playing Eiganjo and pumping the team twice but it was a one sided beat down anyways.
It's not missed lethal if the opponent still has untapped mana and could conceivably have interaction.
@@LegenVD That's true, a lightning bolt or a fateful absence. Though if it was a fateful absence he would have likely used it on a different creature.
What about Serra Redeemer here?
Does not seem good enough unfortunately.
Arming gala, and the girl that makes dogs and cats, plus sigardas blessing is in my deck.
Is torrens worth playing in this deck?
Considered it for sure, didn’t quite make the cut as we have a few too many non-creatures.

nice deck. the first guy wasn't particularly sharp
26 lands in this deck make no sense for best of 1. Have you simulated it? It floods most games.
It has plenty of manasinks, so I wouldn't play under 25.
You're probably working with a small sample and recency bias.
Algorithm really hates this deck. 10 games an its either jank or draw two lands all 3 costs cards.
