The song is from the persepctive of a parent of Eloise, Eloise is a politically active, climate activist who is very aware of how the world is the parent already numb to the world they find Eloise's constant negative world outlook annoying but they humor her
First verse:

- Eloise is upset cause somthing has happened in the world probubly somthing she was following for a while due to her parent's reaction
- The perent notices and asks her what happened now, telling her not to get worked up casue what has the counrty ever done for her
- what ever happened has been updated and Eloise is more really upset, her parent asks her about it
- The parent brushes them off telling them that she should not care becasue the country does not care about her
- The parent notices that Eloise is really upset about what happened and inquires about what happened
- The parent tries to tell her to stop being upset cause what are they going to do about it and look at the big picture but also being extreamly emotionally vacent
Time passes Eloise gets more into whats going on in the world and it has effected her mentally she is educating herself in many topics, her parent on the other had has fallen into religion to cope and they become wrapped up in the thoughts of others becoming more closed minded and hostile to Eloise's political activisum due to a building annoyance turned hatred from over the years

- Eloise was out most likely at a protest
- The parent tells her to belive god will save them the world is not ending
- Eloise starts telling her parent about everything she has learned
- Eloise most likely brought up somthing about race in which her parent told her to stop looking into the actions of people long dead
- her parent starts going on about everything Eloise has said online calling them all lies and asks why she gets worked up over that trash
- in a small moment out of their closed mindedness her parent asks her how she can deal with the the shit going on in the world
Time passes Eloise is well known in activisum but due to the presssure of the world on her shoulders she kills herself. the world greives for a bit but like everything they stop caring leaving her parent to grieve alone. The parent due to her death realizes how harmful they have been to her and if they were there for her she might still be alive, so they leave their church group and hostile social groups. They start looking into the stuff Eloise was working towards and supporting, educating them self in the process.
Third verse:

- The world has moved on from her death and its now even harder for the parent to cope
- The parent wants to mend the harm they did to the world by following in thier childs foot steps
- They will do it for Eloise and memorialize her in a song
- The parent recignises that Eloise saw everything and even the stuff in them self that they failed to see
- they regret so much and are full of greif at the loss of their daughter
