The back and forth is supposed to be (as they described it) the two extremes of the same experience. Where AP is easily infatuated, ready to get married, have 10 kids, pay a kids tuition, etc and Cordae is jaded explaining trust issues & how revealing your love or infatuation with a girl too soon can lead to heartbreak and being taken advantage of. One of the reasons I love this song SOOO much is that it’s the younger person trying to tell the older person to not be so cavalier with their love and generosity. And then the older person answering back: but everyone deserves this generosity! and I’ve been through enough that now I ‘just want too have fun with it’ ‘travel and fill up the bucket list’ and that he’s always loved people deeply & it was never a waste. Questioning if maybe Cordae’s point of view is a bit too guarded/cynical.
Exemplified in the line: ‘new chances we’re all dancing tonight, tell me what’s the odds we can all get a bite’. I just love their back and forth verses I’ve been hoping they’ll just put out a full album.

Anderson Paak has so much swag on the track... he totally takes control of the beat and makes the song his own. I feel like Cordae has so much potential, but every time i hear him it's not all that much that stands out to me... decent bars, decent flows, but nothing groundbreaking. idk, just my opinon!!

George is so on the mark with Cordae. Cordae is cool but he just simply isn't barred up. He isn't just lyrically good enough to be held in high regard to the top guys in the rap game, it's been the same critique for multiple years at this point you just have to admit that he's already at his ceiling. I HOPE he hasn't hit his peak, but it just feels that way.
