28, I slipped up on Americans again! Some of my 70s favourites Jenny Agutter, Joanna Lumley, John Noakes, Lesley Judd, Jenny Hanley, Johnny Morris, The kids from 47a, Marc Bolan, Rod Stewart, Lyn Paul, The Osmonds, Shirley Jones.
The cast of Grange Hill (Yes I was only 2 when it started but they repeated it in the late 90s on a Sunday morning. My daughter born in 2004 has watched every episode, we got them on bootleg DVDs, and it is her favourite programme ever "it's like a real school mum, with real schoolchildrens' problems. Why don't they make programmes like that any more?). I got a rather sad 17, I always get certain people mixed up, I NEVER get Peter Sellers, and three people I'd never heard of. But it was still a great quiz bringing back many happy memories so thanks ❤
I recently watched it all on YT (I watched it on TV until about 1984 when I outgrew them). I still enjoyed them on YT but it jumped the shark when it moved from London.
Excellent Quiz 5 wrong cant believe i didnt get Joanna Lumley ........my pick from the 70's as to Be Slade, James Hunt, Ille Nastase and of course The Fonz 👍👍👍
👍 Thanks again Stu… got them all, apart from ALL the sports personalities (apart from big daddy, 🫤 sort of educated guess 😀), must say something about my younger years 😊
I thought it was the littlest hobo too. That dog used to really annoy me, so why I kept watching him week after week I don't know. My little sister was the same with "Gentle Ben" whom she kept calling "Gentle Bear". I was like "it's Ben, Ben!" and she was like "I'm only 3 Amy, I can't read yet and anyway he is a bear". And don't get me started on Benji, Zax and the Alien Prince which is possibly the worst programme ever...But we still watched it...
Got them all except Shep, I said Petra. My favourites in the 70s were Lee Majors, John Cleese (as Basil Fawlty) Gerry Raferty, The Fonz, Suzi Quatro and my big first crush was Kate Jackson
Another great quiz thanks the wife and I were stumped on one and I thought you were tricking us so I said Shirley Crabtree the real name of big daddy. Damn good fun thank you 👏👏👍
Got 34/35…didn’t get Blackburn…Starsky and Hutch, The Addams Family, Fawlty Towers and even though it was very late 70’s Sapphire and Steel to name but a few…great quiz as always Stu 👍
Icons of the 70s Quiz 24/35?! I could have done better. I knew some of the Characters , but not the actors’ names. My favourites: Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau, and Henry Winkler as Fonzie from Happy Days.
As a kid in the 70s my tv favourites were Lee Majors as the 6 Million Dollar man, and my crush was Joanna Lumley in Sapphire and Steel. My favourite comedy show was The Goodies.
I got 3 wrong. Peter Sellers - the hat threw me off! Tony Blackburn - can't say I ever looked at his teeth that closely. And Shep - for some reason I thought that was Freeway from Hart to Hart. My favourite icon of the 70s was Tele Savalas. I had such a crush on him!! There was something so cool and masculine about him.
William is still with us, he and the rest of the cast of Star Trek inspired me to go into aerospace engineering and I have actually designed space vehicles. All down to Star Trek and its fab vision (and the great acting 😉)
did better than i thought ... messed up on Barry Gibb....thought it was Maurice Tony Blackburn Peter Wyngarde Elton john who i thought was dudley Moore Donna summer And Shep..really? lol
Yes let’s go !!!! I’ll edit how many I get after lol x Edit - I got 4 wrong , so pretty happy ….. I loved Charlie’s Angels , beautiful ladies and strong independent women ! look forward to next quiz , can we have a 80’s one please ? Xx
Among my heroes during the 70s, as a kid, would be Johnny Ball, Bernard Cribbins and Derek Griffiths and Brian Cant.
Some great heroes there. Proper icons and damn nice gents too.
No Fred Harris? 😁

I kept saying the character names rather than the actors names! 🤣 I got most of them right, though.
So happy I got Shep at the end. John Noakes’ dog 😊
Got to love Shep!
#17 Hands up those that said Jane Hunt
John Noakes
Great quiz thanks Again Stu, I had 11 wrong.
Many thanks as always Ken!

So glad you enjoyed the quiz. Many thanks! Grange Hill was a favourite of mine from when it started till about 1986/87
I recently watched it all on YT (I watched it on TV until about 1984 when I outgrew them).
Some great picks there! Glad you enjoyed the quiz.

Nice one! A full house if you don't count the sports stars😉
I liked Abba, the Osmonds, Martin Peters and David Essex.
OOOOh!! 4 Wrong! Ya got me good with Shep!!
You can't keep a good dog down!🐶
My Mrs got that, at first until convinced(categorically told) 🤣I thought it was the littlest hobo

I’m getting old now. Loved the quiz thank you
So glad you enjoyed it. Thanks!
Got them all except Shep, I said Petra. My favourites in the 70s were Lee Majors, John Cleese (as Basil Fawlty) Gerry Raferty, The Fonz, Suzi Quatro and my big first crush was Kate Jackson
Got most of them. Big exception was the dog which I assume came from Blue Peter? Didn't recognize John Cleese's mouth!
Another great quiz thanks the wife and I were stumped on one and I thought you were tricking us so I said Shirley Crabtree the real name of big daddy. Damn good fun thank you 👏👏👍
Cheers Martin! So glad you both enjoyed it!
@@stuviewtv how mean of me to think you were trying to trick us, it's obviously not in your nature🤣✌️
😆
i love jhon cleese
Got 34/35…didn’t get Blackburn…Starsky and Hutch, The Addams Family, Fawlty Towers and even though it was very late 70’s Sapphire and Steel to name but a few…great quiz as always Stu 👍

That was good fun I missed 8.
Cheers Keith!
6 wrong,so many favourites to choose from the 70s ,hard to pick
only 3 channels but quality rather than the quantity of today
Yes, definitely a case of quality over quantity back then!
Icons of the 70s Quiz 24/35?! I could have done better. I knew some of the Characters , but not the actors’ names. My favourites: Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau, and Henry Winkler as Fonzie from Happy Days.
Good to see Big daddy and Giant haystacks. Saturday afternoon wrestling with bag of midget gems.
As a kid in the 70s my tv favourites were Lee Majors as the 6 Million Dollar man, and my crush was Joanna Lumley in Sapphire and Steel.
My favourite comedy show was The Goodies.
Some great favourites there. The theme tune to The Goodies is one of my abiding memories of 70s telly.
My crush was lyndsay wagner and i didn't get her......waaaah!
25 for me.
Can't believe i got Shep from that!!!
Nice one!
Just 3 wrong, that's a great score!
3 wrong. My favourites of the seventies were Pete Duel, Ben Murphy, William Shatner, Leonard Nimitz, Freddie Mercury and David Bowie
What an incredible talent Freddie Mercury was.
William is still with us, he and the rest of the cast of Star Trek inspired me to go into aerospace engineering and I have actually designed space vehicles. All down to Star Trek and its fab vision (and the great acting 😉)
"Cint Eastwood" :oD
That's his brother!
2 wrong and i would have had Tom Baker. Larry Grayson, Brian Cant. Brian jacks. Jon Pertwee and Muhammad Ali
All proper icons you've chosen there. That's a great score too!
8 wrong and Evel Kenevil would have to be up there as a 70's star.
What an icon he was. I used to love my Evel Knievel stunt bike toy!
