In section two of the 2018 NRHA Derby, Guaranteed A Magnum and Jimmy van der Hoeven rode from the very first draw to a 225, and the score held through the rest of the finals to win the Derby Levels 4 and 3 Open championships.

His stirrups look like they should be down a notch. ??? Is it an elusion because he is a tall guy on a smaller (gorgeous) horse?

@@hrsnrnd10 I rode with mine higher for a while, then lowered them after a while. Personally I can’t say I have much of a preference.

If you ride bareback or stirrupless much it may actually be easier to have them higher, because you typically move your legs up a bit when you don’t have stirrups and may get used to the feel
