For example, you buy 5mm thick titanium plates and then duct tape them together as a vest with shoulders and you could even do a brigandine helmet. The squares need to be about the size of your hand or palm of your hand. In addition, you could also do 12mm thick aluminium squares or 4mm steel squares for the duct tape brigandine. However, your steel brigandine is going to be heavier and provide slightly less protection.
