You blew it, dude! I was just there a couple of weeks ago. You don't want to snorkel, that's okay but if you ever snorkel anywhere that would be the best place to start! The water never gets higher than your waist and there's a large population of sea turtles that will swim right up to you. If you go by the rocks on the outside of the bay there's a large manta ray that snorkelers feed by hand. But what you should have done is gone out in a glass-bottomed kayak. It's fairly easy and safe, and the turtles swim right under you! I spent two weeks in Freeport last month, and that was the coolest thing I did.
So glad you went there and reviewed it. I've heard lots of negative reviews, most from people that never left the port. Can't get around it being an industrial port, but like Nassau, the secret to enjoying the stop is to leave the port. Also great that you're a good sport about the unpredictable Bahamian weather. 👍
Aww man you should done the snorkeling, I heard it's a great place to snorkel and take underwater pics. My husband and I will be going next month, our 1st time there and we're gonna go to Taino Beach... swim, jet ski and enjoy the beach.
Paradise cove is such an amazing spot! We missed our ride and had to take a taxi! Make sure you tell the taxi exactly where you are going. They tend to take you to the beaches with lots of vendors. Paradise cove is amazing!!
Looks like you had a peaceful excursion in Freeport, despite the crappy weather. I also don’t fancy Freeport as well. I actually find it boring. Thanks for sharing Zach 🤔
Wow, I haven’t been to deadman’s reef since 1998 or 1999 and it has really changed. There were no oil rigs back then and the beach and water was pristine. I’m shocked and disappointed.
The rigs are new but the water is still clear and the snorkeling is great, especially out by the rock outcroppings that are a little ways from the beach. Also, lots of sea turtles. I've been there twice in the last few years. Plus, if you're not familiar with snorkeling, you can take a guided tour.
Really even with Atlantis in Baha Mar over?! Plus another slew of really good excursions?! Can you be more specific on how you are comparing them. The people the beach is? The food? The scenery
The water, when it's windy isn't so clear by the beach. When you get farther out it clears up. If you go out to the rock outcroppings, you can see 50 feet easy. Also on the ocean side of the outcrops the snorkeling is excellent. Lots of fish.

How cool! Will have to get that in the next time I visit. Glad you enjoyed.
Just a correction, during high tides the waters get to 16-30ft. They have signs that warn you of this.

Thanks for watching! Booking an excursion is key to enjoying Freeport. Otherwise, might as well consider it another sea day and stay on the ship.
I agree. Most people complain about Nassau until they have really experienced Nassau 😜 Love The Bahamas 🇧🇸

We’re undecided where to go for our upcoming trip. What made paradise cove worth it? Thanks!
"She just can't let it go." I chuckled at that! 🤣

Freeport is fantastic. You can move about the whole island safely. Each beach is different and fantastic. I love it

I’m going in 3 weeks, can’t wait…what else do you recommend for affordable excursions? Also how much was your excursion and where did you purchase
I purchased it off of Shore Excursions, a third party website. I believe it was under $40 for the package I booked. Have a great time!!
I what's going on with the Bahamas?
How much is the bus to take you to paradise?
I was on an excursion so they pick me up. I think the excursion was around $50 or so.
I’ll take Freeport over Nassau any day!
It was a very nice place!

You made lemonade from Freeport lemons!
Haha I sure did! 😂

Hmmm I don’t see anything attractive about this beach. Maybe it’s just me🤔
It was just ok lol
You need to be there on a sunny day! Most beautiful spot to go snorkling
Sorry, but that water looks disgusting!!
