If you wanna play it, I don't recommend buying it or paying $20 to play a one and done game for a month. Ubisoft is for sure loosing money. Homosexuality was not uncommon at that time among samurais. There is litteratur and art from that time that proves it. Homosexuality in Asia was a bit more common then but still not mainstream. -Yasuke was kashin, meaning a servant of the samurai. A kashin is anyone who serves the samurai and can be any job; cook, carpenter, maid, retainer, etc. Technically, all samurai are kashin to their lord, but not all kashin are samurai. The vast majority of kashin are mere peasants.
-Yasuke was only given a short sword because as Nobunaga's retainer he was expected to commit harakiri in case he was ever cornered so as not to bring shame to his master.... which he never did because when he was captured by Mitsihide's forces he immediately threw his weapon and surrendered; Mitsuhide later remarked that he is an animal not worth killing and thus gave him back to the Jesuits.

They missed the chance to give Ya-so-gey a coming-of-age sort of storyline to justify him becoming a samurai. 15 months of learning still amounts to something. And the actual MC would have been there observing his growth and worthiness. Ya-so-gey works as a focus character, but not a protagonist.

When Nobunaga first saw him he was shocked why he was so dark and ordered him to undress and get his skin scrubbed and cleaned because Nobunaga thought he was doused in ink. He also never saw a near 6 foot man as most Japanese at that time were 5 ft 4" tall.
He was mostly a sword carrier for Nobunaga.

To be fair Oda Nobunaga already met a “giant” Japanese samurai. Yoshitatsu Saito was described as being a rare large man at the time, measuring over 6 shaku 5 sun (approximately 197 cm). Yoshitatsu, who was such a big man, had to live a life of hardship because he was born as the son of Dosan Saito.
That's not true, Feudal lords don't just make someone carry they're weapons. This comes with a responsibility, expectations and usually rank. He was also given a stipend which was usual given to samurai for service, land and his own blade by Nobunaga himself

I played every Samurai Warriors game KOEI has made. There are a multitude of people they could have chosen.
In defense of Last Samurai, he wasn't trained to be a "master swordsman" in his time living with them, he was trained to be competent. His greatest achievement with a sword was probably fighting a master to a draw once in a training exersise or maybe taking out a couple of nobodies who attacked him with swords. He wasn't carving his way through master samurai warriors, he was just good enough, combined with his experience as a soldier, to hold his own on the battlefield.
So I'm not saying its 100% makes sense but its a hell of a long more plusable then what I'm getting from this game.
Nobunaga was fascinated with Yasuke and they had lengthy discussions with one another, often times while drinking sake. They took this as evidence that Nobunaga and Yasuke were gay lovers. Absolutely absurd.

Of course, so many people are going to ignore this and instead blame all the anger on “they hate to see a black guy be a samurai” like no, stop looking at this from a black victim mindset perspective and think about how this is a disservice to the Japanese since this is blatant misrepresentation of their culture and history with tons of inaccuracies in a series that (while it’s obviously fictional) bases itself around HISTORY.
The big idea behind AC, besides being an Assassin, is interacting with and viewing historical events from the Crusades to the American Revolution where you see historic events being depicted VERY SIMILARLY to how they were recorded with some small twists. The first game removed the crossbow because it wasn’t historically accurate, and many of the games the followed tried to avoid getting historical events wrong with them often having the games conflict being the “hidden conflict” that occurs during these big events such as Arno’s conflict with the Templars happening in the background of the French Revolution.
So imagine how it feels for your countries culture, architecture, customs, and history be so blatantly screwed up and misrepresented by people who clearly don’t know what they’re doing, all for the sake of ESG and DEI because they couldn’t pick any other point in Japanese history ripe with conflict and change other than the SINGLE point that there was a black guy in Japan (who was at max there for three years) who served Nobunaga and by the smallest margin, MIGHT’VE been a Samurai when bending and twisting logic because he was a retainer

Ubisoft is NOT going to redo this game. It comes out in just 5 months so the game is almost finished. At this point, the game's development is on the path of no return.
With the recent release of Shogun and the increased in anime popularity in the west, it looks like western media are trying to push DEI and ESG into Japanese media. This is sickening.
15 months is not enough to master the sword, spear, and bow (being the most difficult to master). The title of samurai was not something that was given out casually. To be a samurai means you were entrusted with legal and bureaucratic responsibilities. Yasuke would have never been given such matters.
They say Yasuke is as strong as 10 men.

Yasuke never saw battle either and in 15 months there was alot of battles, the only one i could see him participating in was the honnouji incident, he was always by Nobunaga's side so when that happen he had to pick up a sword and try to fight back.

The issue I have with this whole situation is that this is the 1 and only Assassin's Creed we will ever get that is set during the Sengoku Period in Japan. The fact that this is what we're getting pisses me off.
Like you said, they won't change it, and whether it's successful or a flop, we will never see another AC game set in this time period of Japanese history ever again. We may see a Meiji Era or Edo Period game in the future if we're lucky (Unfortunately, knowing Ubisoft, those will be just as woke, if not more than Shadows), but we will never see another Sengoku Period game.
This is what we're getting from one of the most interesting periods of Japanese history (the era of constant wars, the "Warring States" period), and it's all we'll ever get.

I know someone who fits the latter, shes played every single AC game and doesnt plan to stop, even if she agrees the main character is a dumb choice.

I feel that AC, like CoD or Fifa, is such a casual franchise that the sales will probably go unaffected either way. The DEI crowd may be 1% or so, but we - the ones discussing their hypocrisy - aren't that big a group in the casual gaming circle. I do believe that most AC fans just go crazy any time a new AC game is released, regardless of what it actually is (because for years now AC has been a series of open world pseudo-rpgs and nobody seems to mind).

I strongly believe in representation in gaming. By that I mean that I believe in every game, there needs to be at least one character who represents someone. That character is the player character, and the one he or she needs to represent is the player. That doesn't have to be an accurate representation, but it has to be a positive one. The player character needs to be someone the player likes to play as. To step into his or her skin.
