Whenever an interviewer tried to get Lin to talk about himself and his masterpiece, he always turns it around to talk about how gifted the other people he works with are. He's an incredibly humble guy.
the irony of lin manuel saying "im in the eye of the hurricane"while the camera had him at an angle so that his head was in the center of the eye symbol in the background.
one of the joys of following this show is watching lin master the 'yeah, I wrote that, it's pretty good, I'm pretty proud of it, oh, it's not that good, you don't need to say all that' face
I really love Lin! I think he's a really nice guy, I know you can't tell if someone is nice from some interviews and whatever but something about his demeanor tells me that he's a really good person.
One think i would have like Lin to mention when he was asked about the "non-white" wording of the principal actors casting call is that casting calls in the past has often specified "caucasians" for it's roles, how come no one ever had issues with that?
+robin212212 Alexander Hamilton was the big bankster of the day. He was Goldman Sachs. Hamilton argued for and set up the first privately owned central bank. Read what Jefferson, Washington, and Franklin said about Hamilton and his banking scam. Burr was the good guy. There was no revolution, thanks to Hamilton. So pathetic how wrong Miranda got this. But he's a star...so I guess that's all that matters in our degraded society.
Jacob Straut It's true what you say about Jefferson, it's an often cited fact about how he felt (he hated NYC and the dishonest shysters that infested the island ). But your point about Hamilton doesn't disprove anything I said, which is all verifiable. There should be more people like Burr today. oy.
+Jacob Straut Hamilton not widely known before this stupid play??!! If you believe that is true then you've spent way too many hours playing video games and being hypnotized by television.
This interview tells me only that Hamilton, as a politically-charged cultural and social phenomenon, has been embraced with wide open arms by the hawkish, corporate-financial-capitalist US establishment, its political leaders in Washington, and its corporate media arm. Hamilton culls black American support for the established political and financial system; embraces the capitalist ideology of the 'American Dream,' efficiency and constant production; appropriates social and cultural traditions and expressions of identity from minority communities and integrates them into an acceptable historical narrative; mythologizes the history of the United States, its origin, growth as a civilization across a populated continent, and the exploitation of labor that was and is essential to its rise. I love the musical, but I appreciate and understand this even as I cry to 'Stay Alive (Reprise).'
+John Jordan Seriously? This show does not need promoting, you can't get tickets for a year and even then they are selling for 10x face value and people are paying it.
Roni Kean I have no doubt it's a wonderful show and very popular. My comment was about the unrelenting promotion CBS This Morning is doing with it. They even mentioned it during a recent report on Prince. I'm not the first or only one to notice this.
That's a valid observation- I've noticed it too. In fact, even though I knew if Hamilton's existence, I didn't really seek out the music till I had seen both Lin Manuel Miranda and Jonathan Groff on the Late Show. So keep up the promotion, CBS! As wildly popular as it is, there's still a huge amount of people that don't know about it.

"It truly is a revolution,"
Me as I scream "YOU WANT A REVOLUTION, I WANT A REVELATION!"

Jacob Straut Everything is wrong about your last post, so let's just end it here. The "scope of history" is just propaganda.

lin is so well spoken. like wow.
Lin is so attractive and I don't think I'm able to get past that
this is so my favorite musical of all times
Whenever I hear the say "revolution", I think of Angelica saying "You want a revolution, I want a revelation, so listen to my declaration."

0:28 HERCULES MULLIGAN
Once my history teacher asked who Alexander Hamilton it and I said every fact from "Hamilton" and he asked if I saw/listened to "Hamilton"
"We'll see where we land. "
Can I get this book in the UK?
What if Lin Manuel Miranda started making another musical about something different in history
My friend got the book and brought it to school, she put a plastic wrapping around the cover
why does it sound so slow?
Why are they so expensive bruh? Im broke af....
Maybe because the musical is a MASTERPIECE
I don’t got money for it either, though 😂
Is CBS invested in this show? They promoting this just about every day now.
+John Jordan Seriously? This show does not need promoting, you can't get tickets for a year and even then they are selling for 10x face value and people are paying it.

Little Johnson Troller, it's time to give the keyboard back to your mommy.
