This is a rather long video. So if you skip to the booms, we won't blame you one bit. We are currently swapping t-shirt suppliers so getting our new models out has been delayed. Connolly and crew are working on getting the new designs up on the site. The plates from the video will be up soon as well once we clean them off as they are a bit dirty.
Do you have plans for adding hats & patches? I think my girlfriend would love something with the Buddy danger logo, in memory of the cat every supervillain wishes he had.
That's exactly what I thought. I own 3 guns with legal length barrels and multiple saws and grinders so I guess the ATF can choose to screw me over? 🤷🏻♂️🙄
They are quite useful too, both for military and even some civilian uses. Not that I would actually make one, that was more directed to the RCMP agent watching me.
0:43 My first thought after re-reading your shirt was subconsciously looking at the background through my peripheral vision and I'm like "Man those are some cool lava lamps! But wait.... why are they all opaque?.... OH! That's right! I almost forgot what channel I'm watching!" 😆
I wonder if making a shape charge liner out of thermite would be more effective. The pressure lensing should still form the liner into a narrow stream, but the secondary reaction of the thermite may create a hotter plasma while retaining the mass of the iron to carry the force of the detonation. Interesting experiment....
I got about half way through the video and started wondering what would happen with a Coke bottle given it's classic shape. I guess if it were filled down to the waiste, then the stand-off distance wouldn't be far enough.
Give Marines that adapter and five minutes alone. By the time you got back someone would be bleeding and your adapter would be getting used to chug whiskey. Thanks for the video bro!
Thank you for the video. HOLY MOLY! That 500ml bottle worked far more effectively than the smaller one. I am given to understand that both had the same charge of explosives? If so then it seems there is certainly an element of artistry to explosioneering. A fellow I know works in antennae design and utilizes many, many formulae for wave shaping and such and he often finds that the "old timers" with whom he works often get incredible results when simply testing "a hunch". EM work can also be a bit of black magic around the edges. I have no pretensions to knowledge either arcane or extensive but my field is also often furthered by hunches and a lot... a ***LOT*** of actual experimentation. Never change fellas. Peaceful Skies.
I can confirm that microwave work, especially antennas, involves a lot of pure black magic. Look up “OAM antenna” some time. Shaped charges are kind of similar to certain kinds of transmitting antennas in that you’re shaping a propagating wavefront.
“…I’ll beat them with a two-day-old salmon.” I may be finding your video a month later, but it’s good to see you guys are still here, and that the sense of humor still thrives.

@OrdnanceLab tape a coke bottle or two of tannerite on a 2 gallon gas can. Also try it on 5 gallon bucket. Also try a 5 gallon bucket of tannerite under bucket of gas put a single layer of quarter inch plywood as seperator in between two. Also leaving gas lid on loose will let fuel disperse better🤷
That was pretty cool. I also didn’t expect the coke bottle to work as well considering stand off distance etc from previous tests. What a difference it made tho! Thanks for bringing more fun content for us! 😊
Another great episode. I enjoy the A÷B&C=Fun times ahead. I'm disabled now from MS with a side order of Dimintia. So, the likelihood of me obtaining the material to manufacture such items is... Probably better off anyway. Thank you guys working hard in the Lab. Maybe one of these days I'll get to put boots to ground. 😅
Out of curiosity, are you using a commercial explosive or something you made in house? And since I gave up sodas for beer, I'm super curious what type of results you'd get from a standard 12oz brown bottle.
Remember that your not at all boring to some people like me I like listening to the different parts of the construction so remember you will always be heard 😊
Cool adapter! If you can get the fuse holder a little shorter or build up the upper rim and make the device invertible so you can use it as a coozie, you've got the ultimate stealth shaped charge device. Keeps your soda cold and lets you carry 2/3 of your improvised device in stealth mode. Curious what would happen if you set on top of a Molotov rather than an empty bottle.
Well done guys! Love the witty commentary, Nick Cannon 🤣. I have a couple suggestions id love to see, copper foil wrapped around bottle and a bottle capped in a vacuum , I feel this will help jet formation. Also variations of EFPs with different materials and distance are very interesting as well.
As a marine that just happened upon this video..... approved... I do enjoy my crayons, they draw funny smiley faces on our tanks, and make great snacks after a long day of whatever the hell our c.o has us doing

After you described, with models, how the charges worked, you sparked a desire… ohhh POWER!! Uh I mean, I looked up the science of shaped charge liner geometry. But, you threw me a curve with the mexi coke bottle. (See what I did there, curve, hahaha I slay myself) I was surprised. Has to be a variation there that allows the curved liner to not “resist” nearly as much, thereby NOT noticeably siphoning off a large exponent of the available “power” generated within the explosive growth. Therefore, these events stack to make for a greater result. Ah GOOD science…

I was so pleased when the explanation came up and confirmed what I already figured out. 😊 What about using a metal bottle (certain types of soda/alcohol have them albeit thin)? Would that make a better penetrator? Or is the mass of the glass better than the very thin metal on the metal containers. Just curious.
It would be interesting to see one oriented horizontally, like in an unsuspecting roadside mailbox….although I wonder how that standoff distance might affect the penetration value of your unique topo chico koozie
