Nice build, couple of sugestions, VDO (& you'll probably find copies online) a pulse converter that can go in line with your tach signal wire to "tune" the orig black & white tacho to the engine. Secondly, ditch the orig alternator, fit an electric vac pump (getting more common in the performance area), then you can run a lot higher output alternator without factoring in the requirement for an engine driven pump!
How's my favourite Australian 😊, i have to take my hat off too you young man on a job well done, what a brilliant truck you're building even though a tadge on the noisy side, ok if you're deaf, you must have very friendly neighbours especially on a Sunday morning 😅. I hope the boat is still afloat will you be giving us a update sometime Tim. All the best Gary 🇬🇧🇬🇧
Hey Gary and fantastic to hear from you mate. I do my best to not start it up too early if I have a choice. If I do have to run it early I make sure to be out of the driveway as quickly as practical to not annoy the neighbours. Although that kind of used to me by now lol.
Hey mate. Good to see your still around slinging wrenches. I like the patrol just above idle on the the freeway of highway. I am the coast up here on vacation, there into sailing up here. Take care my friend.
All good, one door closes as they say. I have been wanting to fit this engine into a patrol for several years now so I'm excited to finally get it done
G,day Tim. It has to be fun doing vids. She,s looking good mate gonna be a BEAST. This format is better ya don,t look so shagged like a Sheep Farmer. Seeing what ya done rather than watching ya do stuff works a lot better. I like the way ya tell it like it is. Dam fine build over all. Leave the airscoop on Passenger side just to provide extra cooling air in the Engine room. Sounds like it wants to eat something.......It,s a Runner. Gonna be pretty fuel efficent over all. You going to have sounds on so wouldn,t worry bout deading to much. Keep at it and look forward to when ever ya do ya next vid. no rush ;0)
Lol thanks mate, I have been finding this style of video much easier to produce and takes a lot of filming pressure off. I'm glad that your self and others seem to be enjoying it still.
Wow that's going back a long way on the channel mate, thanks for being here from the beginning and sticking around. The anvil is still going good and gets used on the odd occasion. I still have ideas of making a forge and trying my hand at some basic blacksmithing and blad making. Unfortunately it won't be for a little while as I already have enough projects on the go as it is. Cheers
Noice mate. Have you thought about putting a j pipe on the exhaust. Really can't hear how loud it is. But my son out deleted on his VE Commodore and the drone at 100k was incredible. Never set in the back but my wife said it was unbearable and in the front we were yelling at each other to talk. (I think I'm a bit deaf). But with the J pipes, 100% better. Standing on the street, it just took that edge of the sound. Cheers Graham
@@HarpersShed a j pipe. Is a thinner pipe in the shape of a j shape capped at one end. Welded into the exhaust going forward which is capped. I think U don't need it in a j shape. I heard the long the pipe the less drone. But U think a muffler is better. I thinking put 3" exhaust with a hot dog muffler on my 2.8l diesel GQ.
The boat is still alive and well. Work has been progressing but at a very slow rate. I will do an update on it in the not too distant future for everyone and put it up on the other channel.

I have seen some of the signal tuning boxes around and if that dash cluster did work that was the next step.
What a beast. Great job
Hey Tim, good to see the project now running & legally on the road! looking forward to seeing the finishing bits n bobs. love ya videos...
Thanks mate, a true project is never really done though 😔
Well done Tim, Nice one mate.
Thanks mate 👍
Nice mate. Looking forward to the next one 👍🏻
Thanks mate hopefully not too big of a gap for the next one

Thanks mate, you too
Thanks Tim, sounds like a purring beast! Awesome progress.
It sounds fantastic when your under load
Turbo beanies are worth they weight in gold. Heat stays in and not going to rest of engine bay.
I completely agree mate, I will be getting one on it to save the paint on the firewall 👍
Sorry the rb30 didn't work out but this has the torque needed for this beast 👍🏻 great work

Awesome video Tim.
Thanks mate
She’s a beast alright. You need to get another one of those engines for kiara now
I do have a "spare " one but I already have the 6cyl BMW engine all built and ready to go in.
Fantastic! Well done!
By the way, it’s “bought” not “brought”. Did you buy it? Then you bought it… yes, I’m way too picky 😐

I must confess I don't actually know what a j pipe is. I will have to do some research. I have since fitted a big muffler and it much better now.

I find it odd that people give cars a name 🤔
