You should lift your Forester my friend for better ground clearance. You can buy 2 inches lift kit by ReadyLift for $399.99 then use 225/65/17x8 + 38 offset. You will see the difference.

I went 1 profile series taller than stock on OEM rims for my 2016 2.slo/CVT Crosstrek. Speedo/Odo are about dead on now, per GPS. Noise, ride, and highway handling is still very similar to the stock Geolandar all-seasons. They fit with 0 rubbing, and MPG probably hasn't suffered much. I can still average 40+MPG by setting cruise at 55MPH on flat interstate. They were cheaper than the stock-size Geolandar all-seasons.

Very nice breakdown of the tire. Thanks for the info. I purchased a pair for my Subaru Forester and they've been incredible in the Colorado mountains, and yet I still dive it pavement to and from job sites. They're a nice hybrid, like you for-mentioned.

Put these tires on my 2017 Ford Escape SE and they are THE bomb for AT tires! A very slight drop in MPGs vs OEM. No noise at all and a very smooth ride from the get-go. On dirt and gravel roads, they handle quite well and throw up a lot of dust and mud behind the vehicle. Will put them on my new-to-me 2019 Ford Edge in the fall. Just love these tires!

I've put these on my 2018 Pathfinder 4WD 2 years ago, 27,000 miles. The OEM Toyo Open County that came on it only lasted 30K miles... I live in upstate SC & we get some snow in the winter, & I drove them in 6 inches of snow & never slipped or loss traction. They are smooth & quiet at 70mph freeway driving also.. These are great tires for a crossover/ SUV..

Love these tires. Bought them for my 2018 Nissan Rogue SV almost a year ago. These tires held perfectly in the snow, on highway, and back roads. I truly believe these to be the perfect cross between all season and winter tires. best of all a 65K factory warrantee. Fair warning, these tires, though the same size as the original (225/65/17) turns out to be about an inch or so larger than my original tires. They still fit perfectly with no rubbing. Also worth mentioning, I haven't experienced any extra road noise compared to my original tires but yes, I seem to have lost about 1mpg since switching.

I have this for my Range Rover L405 in the 20" size and it's a great all around tire. The road noise is minimal. It's great in snow and mild off roading. Way better than the typical 'fake' AT tires on many SUV's today. I lose about 1 mpg on these vs. the OEM non AT tires I had.

I looked for years for a suitable all season tires. Last year I found and bought a set of Cooper Enduromax. Was kind of skeptical at the nearly straight cut looking pattern. However after being in 18 inches of unplowed driveway and twp. roads last winter I was extremely impressed. As good of traction as every dedicated snow tire I'd ever owned. Excellent traction wet or dry too w/ 65k warranty.
But I like the more agressive tread of the Wild Peaks and will prolly give these a try next time.
    Thx for the great content!

I put a set of these on a Subaru Outback when the previous set of junk Firestones that came with the car wore out. I don't have the car anymore, but I loved them. The car would go anywhere I was brave enough to point it. Great in the snow. Minimal noise. The sidewalls look great, changes the whole attitude of the car. When the Toyo AT3s on my wife's explorer need replaced I'm putting these on it. If you are wondering, those Toyos get loud, annoyingly loud. Also, to be able to buy an XL rated AT carcass in a 255/50/20 that is 3 peak rated while also rated at 150 mph. Unicorn.

Thanks for the review. Just ordered these for my 2010 Highlander Limited front wheel drive. I camp out of my vehicle and drive on a lot of rough, twisting, hilly forest roads. My all seasons got me in a tough spot once this past spring. Barely made it up a steep incline covered in loose rocks, pretty much spun my way up at a diagonal. There was no other road out so I had no choice but to make it up that hill, no phone service either so calling for a tow was out, pretty scary situation for a lone woman and her dog. Hopefully these tires will maintain traction in such conditions. 🙏🏻🤞🏻 Not sure if I am going back to that same forest service road to test it out though 😂. Maybe... but only if I'm following a 4WD vehicle with a winch.

@@R.DiamondTV I noticed a little slower takeoff from a stop, but that can be tire weight as well - coming from a passenger car tire. Mine is a manual transmission as well and that 1st gear is stupid tall on factory cars anyway. Other than that I haven't really noticed a difference in mileage. Of course, mileage is a fuzzy thing too because technically you are also underclocking your odometer by having larger tires so the usual miles per tank / gallons filled doesn't work exactly. You can find tire size comparisons tools that will show you the differences in rollout and revolutions per mile and % error on the speedometer if you really want to drill down. I would say it's a tad less mpg but not sure I notice it most times.

Best after OEM tires for a CUV. Bought a 2021 Crosstrek sport. Within 100 replaced tires with Toyo AT3. Ride was good but the road noise was too much for me. Traded them out for Falken AT trails. Rides like OEM equipment and very quiet. Great in snow from my experience. Was heading back from Sierra ski resort to South Lake Tahoe. Going downhill cars in front of me sliding out of control. I felt a little slippage at some points but was in control the whole time. Passed some cars that hit each other and the side bank. That would've been me if I had the OEM all seasons on.

I'm planning to purchase a Rav4 Prime PHEV (as soon as they're more readily available) and I will definitely swap out the factory tires for a set of these. Based on my research, this is a great year-round tire for the ever changing conditions here in Ohio. I will be camping off road fairly regularly, so this seems like the perfect tire for my needs. Plus there doesn't seem to be much of a fuel economy hit, which is very important to me since I drive 25,000 mi per year.

I actually have a 2001 XSE Premium Prime and watching this video because I’m 2 years 30k miles in on these factory tires and thinking about my next set of tires. This looks like the winner. I’d like to go a little bit bigger of the tire on the factory wheel. I’d like a recommendation on the size. Since the wheel is so big I want more rubber but don’t want to rub. Tire size suggestion???

I am about to replace the Conti terrain contact A/Ts on my 2017 Honda Ridgeline RTL-T AWD. I think these are the ones. I'm also in Ohio and do mostly on road driving with a bit of off-road, especially in the fall (deer season). The Ridgeline is a unibody (which catches a lot of crap from "real" truck owners) and this seems like the perfect tire.

I have these on my 2017 Ford Escape. I leveled the suspension with some custom strut spacers, so I went up from the stock, 235/55r17 (27.2) inch tire to the 235/65r17 (29.2) inch AT trails. I have taken the escape off road on rocky trails, gravel, hard pack lower and loose silt upper, fire roads, etc. A mix of snow/slush and mud was also on some of these mountain fireroads for a part of the year. These tires have yet to let me down. Traction is awesome in all conditions, road noise is no more than the stock all seasons. I have 10k miles on them and they are holding up well. Will most likely buy another set when the current ones wear out! TLDR; Tires have great road manners, are quiet and have superb off road traction. They look and ride awesome 👍🏻

Hey man, i’m doing the same build with a 2013, but i bought the 40mm kit front and back. Did you have any rubbing with the 65, and was it before or after you lifted?

    • @knivesinedc
      @knivesinedc 2 роки тому +1

@@shmirikk Hey Brotha! So, I actually had the 65's on before I even lifted it. The problem with the escapes is the horizontal clearance more than the vertical clearance. 235/65's are the largest tire you can fit with super minimal to no rubbing on the 3rd gens. I lifted mine specifically for the extra clearance and the appearance. Depending on how aggressive the shoulders/sidewall is on the tire you bought, it may rub on one or two of the screws attaching the inner fender liner. This is a simple fix by just removing the screws. This will not affect the integrity of the fender liner. The other place they MIGHT rub is on the back, against the little tiny plastic mud guards on the front of the rear wheel well. 2 bolts and those come off, no issues. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions 🤙🏻

In 2018-2020 Subaru crosstrek you get a relatively slow engine. Which is to be expected from a crossover. What I’ve noticed is that the factory tires 225/60r17, are listed (Yoko G91F) at 24lb. Let’s remember this is part of the non suspended mass, and the moment of inertia needed to start moving them depends on the tire/wheel weight as well. So the terrain contact a/t in the same size, comes in at 26.6lb, while the “crossover specific” wildpeak a/t trail come in at 29.3lb. So in this case, the one designed for light trucks would help the small crosstrek better, as they are closer to the stock tire weight.

Reason is that I'm looking for a stronger, more road oriented version of the AT3W. I like that they are 3PMSF rated, from what I've read on several forums, i guess they are a few lbs heavier than the AT3W, and contructed tougher too. They also look like they preform better on the ice, in the rain, on braking, and pavement driving than the AT3W as well. Thoughts anyone??

I recently sold my Toyota Fortuner (roughly equvalent to Forerunner in the US), now looking for a balanced offroad capable A/T tyre minus the noise for my 2nd gen AWD Lexus RX350 which is currently on regular road tyres.. I've previously had Bridgestone Dueller A/T and Yokohama Geolandar A/T on the Fortuner, the Duellers were silent when new but got noisy (unsettling because it sounded like my wheel bearings had gone) halfway thru its life while the Geolandars were amazingly quiet all the way. I thought of going back to the Yokos based on my good experience on them but the Falken looks like the right balance for me, getting older and it's 95% on-road 5% off.. Thank you and thanks to everyone in the comments section too.

I would like to see more tires like this one become manufactured. We have this exact tire on our Outback. I air them up to 45psi (They hold a max of 51psi) and I get 30 mpg averaging 75/80 mph on the freeway. I just finished a long drive from Los Angeles, to Morana, CA, then down to Cabria, Paso Robles, and back to Los Angeles. The tires are outstanding. I just wish they had more plys to it instead of 2. This would help with punctures, but hurt MGP more, that would be the trade off. But I rather take a modest MPG hit than a flat on the freeway!

Although great on dry pavement & with slush and wet, even snow to acceptable level, I was uncomfortable on glossy ice roads this morning. Traction stopping and little going, problems turning and breaking loose. I wouldn’t mind a bit more AT style although I don’t expect to go that much off road. But my 16 yr old will start driving this and I’m concerned about his first winter driving - both snow and especially slick conditions. But also want good highway driving. Any sidewall issues?
