Argao’s jingle plays in a bit faster time signature than kabkabans, sarok, isda and some few in the top 10. Though I still find it slower than most of the festival jingles of other municipalities. The thing is that it is a great factor in creating a very clean dance routine. If the song is slower (which does not necessarily mean easy), then the choreographers could focus more on perfecting the execution, synchronization etc which is hard to achieve if you have a song playing on a faster beat with rookie dancers. For example if you listen to palawod festival or hinulawan festival jingle, sugat kabanhawan and more the song is playing on a much faster beat (also kagasangan which for me is my champion for this year, ) compared to the 4 mentioned above which is a challenge. I bet next year we will see the same municipalities again on the top 10.
I humbly disagree with your point sir. Time signature of each festival jingle shouldn't be a factor why limpyo ug han.ay ang execution sa sayaw. It's the training and practice gyud. Maybe nagkulang sa time to polish the entire routine ang La Torta this year. I would not compare Argao's festival to others because La Torta has different flavor, color and identity like the others. I am just saying, Argao made it to the Top 3 last 2011. They were one of the favorites to win the championship back then because the routine and choreography was really great. Talking about their execution? T'was better than this year's entry. I mean, La Torta can do it bisan unsa pa siguro ang time signature or what not. Sir Victor Cuenco can always do his magic para sa Argao. Maybe this year, if naay PSS, Argao will make it sa Top 3. They're one of the best in Cebu.
