Ever thought about turnin head around on trolling motor where when you go forward in front of boat handle points toward you. Just one screw I do all mine
Congrats on the find! That is going to be a sweet rig, looking forward to seeing what you come up with on it. I think those foam floor mats are closed cell EVA foam that won't absorb water if I'm not mistaken. There is any number of things you could do for a rod holders solution, but if it is going to be a solo boat, a milk crate/rod holders setup like so many kayak fisherman use might be one way to go about it. Another thought would be to mount some rod holders to a battery box for your trolling motor battery. Whatever you come up with will be nice I'm sure. Tight lines FWV crew!
Great idea TFH. Not having Rod Holders after having so many in the Bass Raider 10 is an adjustment for Highlife so far. We will look into those ideas. Hope you are getting out to fish. Fish on!
I'm sorry Richard. I wish I knew of a place. I used to have extra from our table building days but I don't or I would help you out. Son bought a Pelican and it didn't come with seats so we needed them. That being said, the only place I could get them was from Academy and ordered them. Getting them from Pelican is really costly. Not sure why they do that but Academy is where I ordered mine. Sorry to not be more help. Thanks for watching and good luck. Fish on!
I just purchased a Pelican Bass Raider 10 E boat. It has that electrical outlet just like the one on your Pelican 8 E. it has a 3 prong receptacle. You said you got the 3 prong connector that you used for the trolling motor from amazon. can you send me the link for that connector? It's a little confusing, because, there are only 2 wires, a red and a black wire, but there are 3 prongs. what is the third prong for?
Love the boat. I have the sundolphin sportsman and I've been. Wanting to put a floor in mine. You said you got it from lowes. Do you remember what it was called exactly
I tried to look it up on Lowes website since i tossed the package. It qas super cheap like $20 for a sheet of 4. So easy to cut too with utility knife. I cant find it on there. Ill ask Highlife.
Hi! I'm looking forward to seeing more about this little boat. I bought one a couple of weeks before you did. It's my first boat! I'm a 65 year old woman and I'm having so much fun as I figure out how to back a trailer, load and unload it, and what to put where. I love being out on the water! I've really enjoyed watching Vance's videos! I'm learning so much! Thanks! Fish ON! Carmen
That is great Carmen. Thank you so much for the kind words. Next video out is going to feature Highlife in his new Pelican 8E. That is great that you enjoy being out on the water. I really do as well. So relaxing. Thanks for comments and Fish on!
I had an 8 ft Coleman Ram-X before my Pelican 10E...it did fine with 2 guys but it was best with 1. I put a foot controlled bow mount motor on it and I had plenty of room especially by myself to operate it. Just a thought!
I am going to haul my Glastron Sportster to the transfer station. I am going tiny!
Sounds good. Good luck.
Nice addition to the family
Dueling Pelican Bass Raider's now. The challenges will be endless.. haha.. Fish on!

Nice! Do you know what the plug 🔌 is called?
Or where someone can get it
I'm sorry Phil S I don't. I apologize.
Nice set up!
Thanks very much. Highlife likes it very much so far.

I put a battery into a 19x13 milk crate, then attached the rod holders to that. Also mounted a volt meter with USBs on it.
Great idea. Thanks DG. Appreciate the input. Fish on!
