i was there when James Brown came to Nigeria in the early 70's. Phil, she felt snubbed because Megan was the center of focus and upstaged her. Furthermore, a lot of Africans have a poverty complex. The “poverty/backwardness” stigma creates a deep wound of insecurity and an inferiority complex in them. They overcompensate for it with the whole “culture” thing. It’s their security blanket.
