- This chemistry video tutorial provides a basic introduction into ion dipole forces and ion induced dipole interactions. Ion dipole forces arises from the electrostatic interactions between an ion such as the sodium cation in table salt and a dipole such as the water molecule. A salt water solution contains ion dipole interactions. An ion induced dipole interaction occurs when an ion causes a nonpolar molecule to become polarized turning it into a temporary dipole. The interaction that results in an ion induced dipole interaction.

does your back hurt from carrying my college career?
This guy makes me understand everything better.... Always 🙌
I've been saved! All my teachers were explaining the characteristics of these forces but not how to distinguish between them. Thanks for the help!
The most ingenious teacher ever😭
is this only for non polar molecules?
Man u realize u actually savin lives here
thankyou for saving my med tech career
This was finally explained once and for all clearly, and now I can even explain dipole ion and dipole Induced interactions to other people.
What’s the best way to determine the polarity of the molecules? Through molecular geometry?
this guy is saving my chem grade
You are good at making things easier😁
thank you so much, it is so easy to understand when you explain, love your video. Thank you !!!
OMG!!! I finally understand everything!!! Thank you sooooo much!!!
Can you please comment on the directional or non directional behaviour of these interactions?
Thank you so much for another wonderfully informative video TOCT. I am curious, will you be making any videos on geometric optics and optic waves? I always go to your channel first when looking for a topic and didn't see one on those.
Thank you for your video. I wanna ask to you, how about interaction between sodium chloride and carbon tetrachloride? how to describe the interaction between these 2 molecules? thank you
Very helpful thanks :)
Thanks for saving me in AP Chem
Regarding to the ion iduced dipole is it the same as LDF?
