Nick: The hamburger is the default version of a burger. Everything else is added. Also Nick: a Cheese Pizza isn’t the default pizza. You need to add things.
Nah, I'm completely with Nick here. Hamburger is default burger. Pepperoni is default pizza (at least in the US). In Italy it would presumably be a margherita.
I cannot believe the pushback Nick got on the vanilla milkshake. "Vanilla" is literally the term for unmodded, original versions of a video game / software / sex etc - have these video game journalists once heard someone say "play chocolate skyrim"? Or "I prefer good old fashioned, missionary position chocolate sex"?
Greg: 'There is a bad-guy in the photo so I can't share it with you.' Nick: 'What, is Bane in the photo???' This is the content we want, but don't deserve.
I mean, the English Language has adopted the word “Vanilla” to describe something as basic/default, so nick clearly wins the ice cream/milkshake argument
Nick's opinions were so dumb and logically inconsistent. He didn't even understand the question at first. Hamburger is the default because everything is added, Vanilla is default because you add to it, cheese pizza isn't default even though its what you add to it. He knew he was wrong when he couldn't even think of a proper analogy and had to say some dumb shit about cars.
This might be a top 5 KF Podcast, ever. God, this took my shitty day and made it great. Thank you guys. Can't tell you how much positivity you're sending out into this weird world we are living. Thank you.
I also think icecream is a whole different game from pizza/burgers. Those are often ordered or made for a group of people. I think it would be very strange to have icecream and not either get specific orders or get at least both chocolate and vanilla for people to choose. I don't think icecream has a standard flavor that is expected
So when working at chick fil a, all the milkshakes are made by first making vanilla milkshakes and then adding either chocolate syrup or the strawberry filling
Tim is always in the funniest scenarios. It’s crazy that Nick is right about the hamburger situation but then is the opposite with needing pepperoni on pizza 😄 As for a milkshake and Ice Cream, I’d say Vanilla is the default. Great episode guys. ❤️
I am so god damn lonely and sad, Kinda Funny's shanagins is the only thing getting me through this horrible year! I was born and raised in Denver but when I lived in NYC, I lived in Flatbush Brooklyn, had a guy walk around the neighborhood, rain or shine, hot or cold, with a kareokke machine and mic. Singing at the top of his lungs. Saw him every week. Some people just gotta grove and walk know what I mean? AND the default pizza is Cheese Pizza. Its not about what your favorite is, in NYC, one of the capitols of pizza, the cheese slice is called a "regular" slice. As in the basic or base slice. I love this show.
The pizza standard being pepperoni I'm on board with, but Nick's milkshake comment made me get up from my chair, pace around the room and scream at the air. How dare you my good sir! By the way I really enjoyed this episode haha.
1:08:30 ... Nick... When Greg calls you a psychopath... It's time to reevaluate yourself and DO BETTER. C'mon old man, you got a few good tricks left to learn. LMAO.
I always find it cool to hear nick mention band, drum corps, and Blue Devils. I auditioned for BD back in 2014. Didn’t make it and ended up marching for a different corps but I always wondered what it would’ve been like to be marching in Cali
Cheeseburger is the only thing that matters, the hamburger is futile imo but logically a burger is without cheese but with the option in practise more people eat cheeseburgers than not but it’s still easier to add than subtract
Watch "The Push" on Netflix. It's literally an entire special about convincing a completely normal person to murder someone by setting up the perfect scenario of things that would push them to do this. It's done by a mentalist/illusionist. Real people in elaborate settings. Very entertaining!
At this point, im not sure if kf needs a studio. Sure it makes things easier but the podcasts of the last 4 months have been great. They are more intimate. When at the studio there was a distance thats gone now.
How is this argument still happening? And how is Nick, who says a burger is just a hamburger, saying a pizza can’t be a pizza if it’s just cheese??? Margarita is the default state of cheese, just as plain hamburger is the default state of burger. But this is a ridiculous argument because if I ask my partner if she wants pizza, I wouldn’t order a pizza without the follow up question, “what do you want on it?”. The same way if I’m gonna make burgers I’ll say “do you want cheese on it?”. This is the worst argument in the history of the universe
Up in Nor-Cal, there was a Fuddruckers and of course the day I decide to try it I find out they had been closed for weeks. Drove 20+ miles in prime time traffic only to be wasted.
Honestly if I was told I was getting ice cream (of course I'm getting vanilla, Nick was 100% right) and it turned out to be CHOCOLATE I would be shocked, appalled and disgusted to my very core (:
Look at any cool restaurant. If they have a house burger on the menu, it has cheese on it nine times out of ten. You have to specify if you want it without. Standard has cheese. Hamburg refers to the country of origin, it doesn't mean anything about ingredients or the type of food or anything. That point is stricken from the record.
Nick. You are insane. A burger can't be without cheese but a pizza be with pepperoni. Pepperoni is a topping. A topping. Toppings are things added to a pizza. Also, around me, we don't ask for a cheese pizza. We ask for a PLAIN Pizza. Therefore it is the default pie.
Nick: We have a Nespresso Vertuo and it makes delicious and extra foamy coffee. It's surprisingly good quality and the texture of it is much better than standard drip coffee in my opinion. Plus you can order refills on the app and they will send them right to you. highly recommend!
24:35 This show is the Seinfeld of podcasts. I love every minute of it.
Nick is right Vanilla is 100% the default state of Ice Cream.
There's a reason default game servers are called Vanilla Servers (like in WoW), it's because it's (back to) basic/default.
This is definitely what we want.
A whole free box without Andy this week and Kevin still didn’t get it. Poor guy.
Tyler Corps first time Kev popped up I was just like “cmon Kev jump in Andy’s spot”. Would’ve been great
Nick: The hamburger is the default version of a burger. Everything else is added.
Also Nick: a Cheese Pizza isn’t the default pizza. You need to add things.
I had to stop the podcast mid-explanation from Nick to come over to UA-cam just to make this exact same comment. Glad to see someone beat me to it.
Matt Menosky I’ve been saving this comment since the livestream yesterday. Utterly ridiculous in the best way.
Nah, I'm completely with Nick here. Hamburger is default burger. Pepperoni is default pizza (at least in the US). In Italy it would presumably be a margherita.
Stephen Gonzalez I’m glad you mentioned it because I was almost shocked that nobody brought up margherita
@@stephengonzalez1801 pepperoni is shit... U need to make it as spicy as possible
Vanilla Ice Cream "IS" the default ice cream!!
CHANGE MY MIND
three seconds into the intro and Greg starts wheeze laughing, this is gonna be a good episode.
Its shocking that Nick doesnt recognise the Margherita as a pizza. Shameful
Chocolate is not the default state of ice cream
I cannot believe the pushback Nick got on the vanilla milkshake. "Vanilla" is literally the term for unmodded, original versions of a video game / software / sex etc - have these video game journalists once heard someone say "play chocolate skyrim"? Or "I prefer good old fashioned, missionary position chocolate sex"?
Although the latter does sound interesting...
Doggy style is the default sex position. Missionary is very unnatural and more modern. Doggy is how your ancestors always did it.
Greg: 'There is a bad-guy in the photo so I can't share it with you.'
Nick: 'What, is Bane in the photo???'
This is the content we want, but don't deserve.
I mean, the English Language has adopted the word “Vanilla” to describe something as basic/default, so nick clearly wins the ice cream/milkshake argument
24:59 in. THIS IS WHAT I WANT. You guys continue to provide so much dang joy.
Nick Scarpino is just spitting facts on the default states of food. He needs to be a judge on Iron Chef America.
That would be great! Once this covid shit is over (hopefully soon!) we need to petition to make this happen.
Except about pizzas. Pizza = dough, tomatosaus, cheese. That's it. The rest is toppings and not default. Just go by the definitions.
Nick looks like Dan Blizerian's distant cousin
The responsible distant cousin haha
My favorite episodes are the ones where Tim has a problem on his hands lmao
THANK YOU. This is one of the most enjoyable commutes I have had in a while. Smiled the whole bus ride.
Confession: I can’t have cheese pizza. It’s too bland for me I need some good toppings to add some zesty flavor 😂.
This might be a top 5 KF Podcast, ever. God, this took my shitty day and made it great. Thank you guys. Can't tell you how much positivity you're sending out into this weird world we are living. Thank you.
Colin is getting revenge for Tims thong picture by playing the music

25:05 😂 this IS what we want
This is 100% what I'm here for. Love You Guys!!
So when working at chick fil a, all the milkshakes are made by first making vanilla milkshakes and then adding either chocolate syrup or the strawberry filling
Tim is always in the funniest scenarios.

Great episode guys. ❤️
Claiming chocolate is the default Ice Cream is WILD
I live for these food debates
This is exactly what I want
I am so god damn lonely and sad, Kinda Funny's shanagins is the only thing getting me through this horrible year! This stuff is great, been binge watching these.
Pepperoni pizza
Vanilla ice cream
Chocolate chip cookie
Plain Hamburger
Don’t worry Tim. We all have that one uncle who shows up to the Christmas party that is always red.
Default settings for food: Milkshake = Vanilla. HAMburger = plain burger. Burger = safe to assume cheese. Pizza = standard cheese, no additional toppings.
The pizza standard being pepperoni I'm on board with, but Nick's milkshake comment made me get up from my chair, pace around the room and scream at the air. How dare you my good sir! By the way I really enjoyed this episode haha.
I love the red and yellow USSR equivalent walking against the hail to the chief guy.
1:08:30 ... Nick... When Greg calls you a psychopath... It's time to reevaluate yourself and DO BETTER. C'mon old man, you got a few good tricks left to learn. LMAO.

As someone studying to become a food scientist Nick assuming the base flavor of ice-cream is vanilla hurts my heart
Vanilla is the default ice cream. Kevin should be considered clinically insane
I don't want to alarm you guys, but in Australia the default pizza is Hawaiian.
The milkshake debate had me TRIGGERED!
I’ve never had a dog. Do they always piss and crap all over your house for weeks?
1:09:00 Nick. I am 100% on your side on this one. Vanilla shake ALL THE WAY.
1:10:00 Nick is right about the ice cream too, y'all.
A cheese pizza is like a burger without the buns
The default state of ice cream is neapolitan
pizza: Pepperoni
Burger: Cheeseburger
Ice Cream: Vanilla
Milkshake: Vanilla
Hotel: Trivago
Definitely what we want, had to order the beer mug and coffee mug after how much this episode made me laugh.
Hamburger, Pep & Cheese, Strawberry Milkshake, Vanilla Icecream. The defaults, ladies & gentlemen.
One of your best episode !! Thx for this one
This episode is an instant classic.
I love the journey of Detective Ascot and his sidekick Wheels
I WANT MOARRRRR OF ALL THIS
As a person who worked at Portillos for 6 years, this podcast was very intresting to listen to.
Kinda funny IS life during COVID!
Keep it up fellas 👍
This is what we want, Greg
Ooof, the movie vault reference was a callback I was NOT expecting
Watch "The Push" on Netflix. It's literally an entire special about convincing a completely normal person to murder someone by setting up the perfect scenario of things that would push them to do this. It's done by a mentalist/illusionist. Real people in elaborate settings. Very entertaining!
Surely not. Surely they don’t go back to burger talk.
This is the equivalent of them going back to the island in Lost.
27 minutes in "let's get into this show" 😂😂😂
I think the “Hail to the Chief” guy is living the same day over and over again
Nick broke Greg when we got to milkshakes...lmao
Didn't expect keemstar to guest on this episode
When I saw no Andy I was disappointed, but Greg, Nick, Tim and Kevin bought it this week! Best episode in a long time, I needed the laughs.
At this point, im not sure if kf needs a studio. Sure it makes things easier but the podcasts of the last 4 months have been great. They are more intimate. When at the studio there was a distance thats gone now.

BANGER EPISODE Y'ALL!!
We call a plain (cheese) pizza, a Margherita
Damn this thumbnail - every time I see it I just want to munch a burger. Preferably with cheese.
This is absolutely what we want
There's still a fuddruckers out here in new Jersey there used to be like 4 but now down to 1
Up in Nor-Cal, there was a Fuddruckers and of course the day I decide to try it I find out they had been closed for weeks. Drove 20+ miles in prime time traffic only to be wasted.

A bare burger + buns for me equals to a pizza bottom + sauce, everything else(cheese/toppings) needs clarification/further conversation.
This podcast is what I want
1:02:55 thanks Kev
THIS WAS AN AMAZING PODCAST
This makes me happy
Y’all remember Horse Wrestling tho?
"Nick he's one of your people" lol that shit never gets old..... unlike Nick.
"Pizza" is a cheese pizza. This is madness. On what planet is pepperoni a given?
Earth
The best part of the beginning Sur La Table stuff would have been in Andy remembered all of that stuff from being a fan at the time.
Vanilla is the base flavor of ice cream.
This is 100% what we want
Also for the record I’m with uncle Nikki here if you offer me a milkshake I’m going to assume it’s a vanilla milkshake
Even when I think Nick is right, he sometimes has a condescending way of speaking, that makes me want to disagree
This is exactly what we want
Oh Timmy boy, it's definitely what we want.
Sorry I'm late but yes, nonsensical is what I want Greg.
i love how nick makes a random choice and then defends it to the end. Does not matter how contradictory his own arguments get.
THIS IS WHAT WE WANT.
Much love y’all
Tim doesn't grill? Kevin had to set up his home theater. Does Tim not feel emasculated?
DarthMayvin Tim is a nitwit child. I’m surprised if he can make Mac n’ cheese himself.
That’s some winter soldier shit Tim
Tim absolutely broke when Nick got into the milkshake convo and it's GREAT.
Ok so Tim nailed it again with the pizza but Nick carries the ice cream/milkshake debate. Vanilla is def the default.
Nick: We have a Nespresso Vertuo and it makes delicious and extra foamy coffee. It's surprisingly good quality and the texture of it is much better than standard drip coffee in my opinion. Plus you can order refills on the app and they will send them right to you. highly recommend!
I'll bet the guy walking around Tim's house with the march can be convinced to kill someone else!;)
I see that Shoyoroll hat, Nick!
