But that's what made PUBG special back then. The fact it's so punishing and sometime slow, it creates more tension when fighting and also makes winning more powerful. Sometimes you drop and die but that's the point. I guess in this era of instant gratification and respawning, it got outdated but it still has somewhat of a charm

Great comment, my thoughts exactly. And this authentic battle royale feeling is still the reason many people love and play PUBG today. If that's not for you its fine, there's plenty of fast paced BRs out there, but I don't quite understand shroud's and other people's hate towards the game.

@@xphilster I think for streamers, the desire for quick pacing/minimal downtime makes sense. The gap in action could lead to a chunk of viewers turning their stream off.
i wish i can erase my memory of pubg, runescape and apex... and try it all over again... love that feeling of just grinding so many hours in a game you like

Use to play on console but the servers were pretty dead unless you play with PC players which isnt fun or fair. Now I'm on mobile and it's a blast.

PUBG is still one of the best BR to play. It's like playing out a story with your buddies as you try and get the chicken dinner. It never gets old for us!

My only issue with pubg is the way the player base got into this only hot dropping thing so by the time first zone hits half the server is dead. Miss the days where people could be anywhere.

I have a low end gaming laptop which i bought in 2019. Back then, PUBG Lite existed and it was the best game of my life. It's not stressful and i would just chit chat and have fun with my cousin in duos. And then hackers took over the lite version, the developers couldn't handle the maintenance anymore and it got shut down. Ah, it breaks my heart. The PUBG original version cannot be run properly so i can't play. But if i am given an oppotunity to play PUBG for life, i would. I am dying to play again. Hopefully, i would be successful in the few years and could get myself a proper gaming setup and get back to PUBG life with my cousin. Peace✌🏻

it died when everyone didn’t spawn on erangel island waiting for 100 man lobby to go in plane. That chaos was what made pubg the best. Fuckin glorious!!

more about the person running into it. He wasn't even there when the shot was taken, this is a pure shot of luck. The enemy shows up literally frames after the shot was taken, then stands up to peek while the bullet is travelling.

@@kelvin4910 you can now parachute off anywhere that is high , theres a shield wall like warzone, the spawn beacon like fortnite,now there's a rank system which you need to pay if you want to play ranked. I think there's more but i just dont really care, they add stuffs, update here and there and it still same old pubg.
But ngl, the "heavy" movement in this game is like the only signatures that this game has, whole other being very fast in it's movement.

I actually like the fact that in PUBG, you don't have "abilities" or "build a tower" bs. It is heavily based on mechanics, positioning, game sense, and actually thinking about where and how you should move to the circle or even within the circle. You get punished for making mistakes on any of those core elements and you don't get some cop out ability or get to start building shit to save your ass.

@@SINSRISE that was only brought in because they lost players that were fed up with build mode. It's a too little, too late scenario. PUBG has consistently retained a playerbase and tops Steam (outside of CS) consistently because they didn't need to make drastic changes to their formula. PlayerUnknown after all is THE person who birthed the BR genre into video games.

@@pat426 I can understand. The graphics are unique and anyone can recognise that it's from Fortnite cuz it's not a game anymore it's a metaverse.
This is also the reason that how easily they can get any type of collab in the game because of such graphics style which other games failed to adapt cuz they look so realistic that it becomes difficult for them to collab with others as realistic graphics require more time to morph with the collabs.
Epic Games actually use the full potential of their Unreal Engine that's why the feel of Fortnite is very different from other games as I said before that it's not a game anymore.

The game is fun but some of the new maps are a bit too gimmicky, i understand the skins being crazy but i miss the harsh abandoned military aesthetic from erangel, i feel like that was pubg’s identity.

Ping just hasn't aged well with the times
So many campers in this game too where I dont even get the chance to shoot, u're either forced to sit in a corner or play more rushy but when you rush your steps are like an elephant and the kids camping in the houses or looting will hear you coming, especially when you're duo in squads you most likely die.

Started playing PUBG 3 days ago, I’m having so much fun on it. Wish I gave it a chance when it first come out instead of wasting my time on Fortnite/Warzone.

Remember the days when parents would take their kids to apps to loot n die to the blue.. funny enough.. on this new Rondo map the kids can now take their loot to a shop; sell it, and buy better gear.. and still die to the blue at a level one shop.. kinda cool tbh.. not crazy bout the fact that level 3 shops have crate gear and might need a bit of a nerf but yeah.. am seeing some newbies in NA.. kinda refreshing. much love and Thanks so much for sharing
Miss the old PUBG. The newer UI and texture design made it lose it's charm. The early 2018 art style made it look more gritty and serious
PubG has been running great for a couple of years now and is in an amazing place right now. Here are all of us sane people playing it. The only BR game I want to play after playing all of the other ones for a long time.

Gunplay, looting, armor system and (some) maps are good imo. Movement, tempo and pretty much all the other stuff are either mediocre or bad. The potential PUBG have/had was incredible - shame they fked it up…

PUBG is what it is because it doesn’t have all the gimmicks those other shooters have. I do agree it would be nice to have a more coherent and consistent respawn mechanic for getting teammates back, though.

I like it compared to COD where you come back 10 times a match. This gives it some sort of balance.
Someone know the reason why shroud doesn't want come back playing PUBG ? I miss him play with waddu hex
coming back to PUBG in 2024 is hard in the beginning but once you get used to it again you realize it's actually better
-nearly no crashes (at least on console)
-revive stations
-more loot (so less focus on scavenging and more on fights and rotations)
-more vehicles spawned and ways to move faster (bicycles, glider, ferry, zipline etc)
-vehicle flips 80% less and vehicle crashes also do something like 80% less damage
-arcade mode to practice and warm up
-more maps (though erangel is still the best one)
one thing is still hard as hell: recoil control haha. I think it's slightly more manageable than in the beginning though, especially it's easy to get weapons fully decked out now.
the only bad thing IMO is that my friends largely don't play it anymore so I need to play with randos 90% of the time

Still playing pubg till this day, game is over 5 years old and still is one of the most releastic battle royal shooters out there, only thing I would say is there should be crates and things of that nature for winning chicken dinners, it takes a lot to win & when you do I wanna do more than emote for 1 min and shoot at my teammates, & shroud you gotta stop playing this game just to talk shit about it is wild, straight disrespecting whoever’s promoting you to play this game, & if your not getting paid to play, why talk mess about a game you don’t care to play.
