Remember when Andre was sponsored by HBO Max? I was like "I dunno about this", and then they proved me so wrong. Within a few months HBO Max became the BEST streaming service. Such an incredible catalogue. And Discovery has ruined it within just like 3 weeks.
I totally agree! HBO MAX had CN and Adult Swim stuff, Looney Tunes, DC stuff, and they had the better classic films compared to other streaming services. They still have good stuff, but they're shooting themselves in the foot at the starting gate.

Not only remove the projects but all those like infinity train, as well as OK go have been removed and not permitted to be uploaded to other services and the writers are unable to get residuals off of it, which are needed for things like you know health-insurance!!

If Warner Bros. Discovery even thinks about shutting down John Oliver! All hell will break lose on Warner Bros. Discovery with a resistance movement seeing how the FTC are weak.
He's always been very critical of his "business daddy". TimeWarner Cable, then AT&T-Warner, now Warner Bros Discovery. He knows that if they cancel him, they're losing a lot and losing a low budget show with sweeping cultural relevance.
What they're doing is so dirty. I feel awful for all those people who put in so much work into these shows that just disappeared in a Thanos snap.

The whole Warner Discovery merger fiasco has made me so upset. They purged a ton of Cartoon Network shows from HBO Max including two of my favs Infinity Train and OK KO, and I'm so upset about them canceling Driftwood too.. I feel so bad for all the animators who worked on these projects, animation deserves MUCH MUCH more respect.

We need a streaming service to adopt all these animated shows as well as give them DVD and Blu ray releases as an attempt to make sure they don't disappear forever. Funny how Warner doesn't care about the thing that gave them their start, animated shows.
We need media holders to stop being shitbags and keep pulling films and shows. We do need fewer streaming services, because this is getting ridiculous, but we need content to not get pulled from them because of it.
This is why I love physical media. Rather have in my hands, than stream.
That's why I'm glad I'm collecting tv series on DVD ik I'm not the only one who saw this coming with streaming services

The Urkel one hurts the most because the only thing I've been watching on HBO Max for the last month is Family Matters, I'm almost to season 6. Maybe Hulu could get it, I'm not sure if Family Matters is still in there,but I think Perfect Strangers is, the show Family Matters was a spinoff of. Hulu could pickup Tiny Tunes also

I'd say buy media physically when you can, but they are even starting to delist official DVD releases of their shows. And alot of these that are being taken away were HBOMax originals. So the only way to really send a message is to unsubscribe from HBOMax and Discovery Plus.

My 12-month promotion with HBO Max ends this month. I'm really thinking about canceling instead of downgrading to the ad version. The only saving grace, is that they have the Studio Gihibli flims.
@@bigglou In other countries like mine, these shows and movies are licensed by other streaming services. As for physical media, yeah that started to get a bit of a hit.

2022 is literally Animation Armageddon! The world of animation is at stake. I feel really bad for all of the talented animators, creators and directors involved in these projects. Animation is not replaceable, the fact that they're treating it like that is genuinely terrible. We must take action NOW because this is getting out of hand.

I noticed that majority of these Hollywood studios, networks and streaming services like Netflix, Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery and so many others really underestimate the power and beauty of Animation. I’m super sick and tired to see this incredible medium getting disrespected all of the damn time!
It’s like they are really afraid that an animated story without real people can be just as impactful and immersive, if not more, than your typical average live-action show/movie. Animation deserves equal love and respect that live-action has.

What Warner Bros-Discovery is doing kind of reminds me of what WWE did when Vince McMahon was in charge recently. They're axing and/or letting go of these shows due to tax write-offs, is similar to how they released a majority of their wrestlers due to budget cuts. That's crazy to think about! 😳
I remember I canceled my subscription to HBOmax awhile ago because I didn’t want to pay for it for a bit. I thought I would just cancel for long enough until I get enough money, but now I’m glad that I kept forgetting about it for months! More like H-BS-Max!

I'm just mad that HBO Max got a rid of a lot of cartoons and other cool stuff!!! It just makes me mad, sad, angry, etc. there needs to be some justice against all of this so that those that were lost can comeback and never be lost until it's the right time for them to be gone!!!

If its any consolation; apparently WB stock has been absolutely tanking since Friday, most likely due to the shit the new CEO is being pulled. Hopefully, this will convince the rest of the execs to dump him ASAP and try and salvage what they can with their company. (Don't have the exact source, so I could be talking out my ass here)
Honestly, I do hope these shows end up on some of the more popular services Hulu, or Prime, just so they have a chance of getting multiple seasons. Hulu hit a goldmine with the Animaniacs revival, why not grab all these shows and continue it?
I'm canceling HBO Max next year. Discovery just RUINED everything! HBO Max was near perfect with Cartoon Network, DC, and HBO shows and movies.
You should cancel this year since this whole animation Apocalypse was a ploy to increase the Bottom Line for the upcoming Fiscal quarterly to "show" this HBOmax and Discovery+ merger is "profitable" for the shareholders.

Tax write offs only works when you still manage to make money. When you cancel a lot of stuff you're going to lose people. Sure, they have the new GoT spin off, but that's only going to hold an audience for so long.
Also, from what I've seen around, it sounds like their "You'll never see this" projects aren't just shelved, but deleted completely.
I don't care how many animal documentaries I enjoyed as a child, all I want now is to see Doscovery burn.
As someone studying animation, this makes me want to never go through a studio to make my dreams happen.

Oh, what's happening at WBD is DEFINITELY setting up many kids' "life's not fair" origin story.
They're just gutting everything WB was doing, man. I've heard they even been *deleting* film footage from some of these unfinished projects from their shared cloud servers without so much as a notice to the people that were producing them. What's even the point anymore, how much of this do they think they're going to be able to write off for tax purposes? How many cut finished projects do they think they're gonna be able to get away with dropping/removing before people start suing them en masse for intentionally screwing them out of residuals? Almost makes me wish someone would file an antitrust complaint just to force Discovery to split off all the different WB properties, because that feels like the only way to salvage any of this at this point.

From what I know a lot of this is coming from Discovery not Warner Brothers. They have been spontaneously canceling and tax write off-ing shows and animation and cartoon network along side many others were warning them not to do it but they did anyway. Many people in the industry are upset.
I feel sorry for the animation creatives and animation studios.

It's a complete sh*tstorm, it's unfair to the creators, it's unfair to the subscribers, all it does it make a line go up for stockholders who *do not care* about the content. Give it three years and if HBOMax/Discovery is still around it's gonna be 2 GoT sidequels and a 50 reality shows.

Yeah, I'm really not happy with WB Discovery, not just for what they did to DC... and Scooby Doo, and Static Shock... but also what they are doing to Cartoon Network as well! CN just announced a new line-up of excellent looking programing from African Superheroes, to Space Dogs, Fionna and Cake, and the Semi Spiritual Return of Sym-Bionic Titan, and all those shows seem potentially on the chopping block. It's not really Warner Brother's fault this time, but they always seem to have an excuse!

I'm so disappointed by this news, I was really looking forward to an old-school, true to the comics rendition of the batman mythos that harkened back to the 1930's origins of the character....and now we won't get it. Disappointing...
This is so dumb. I Know kids aren't the only ones who watch cartoons but I have a feeling they are a huge chunk of that audience. And if I'm putting my business hat on, I'm thinking,"how are you gonna cut such programming? You don't want to have something to compete with D+? Netflix?" Weird.

Discovery has focused on more reality tv. They have food network, hgtv etc. Reality tv costs less.
Why create movies and shows for a streaming platform that cost money when you can put house hunter reruns on it.
Also they likely hope another service may pay them more to air it than they would make to house it on HBOMax.
If they do drop everything animated on CN, then the channel might be our only life raft, of this "Warner brothers flood", for cartoons.

I am glad that you love Family Matters so much. When I threw out my back a couple of years ago, I watched the entire series of Family Matters, Real Ghostbusters, and Boy Meets World.
