Had one of these 2011/12.. absolute great little vans, only got rid of it to buy bigger van, a mk5 Transit! ( also great vans) 👍 can't be many of those Extras around now. Can't wait to see how she gets on 😊
Bought one of these on a whim about 25 years ago as a bit of a project unfortunately i had far too many other projects and after a couple of years and not much progress it had to go. Fast forward to today and and I've got even more cars. Just been looking my files of old receipts and i paid £180 in 1999 for the Renault Extra 1987 on D plate it ran and drove with 4 months MOT.
Wasn't stuff cheap in the 90s! Imagine paying £337 (according to the Bank of England inflation calculator) now for a 12 year old van with four months MoT.
Buying a van isn't a cheap option, like it used to be, but good luck with your new project. I hope the screen passes MOT requirements or its going to get costly.
Fixing it up properly isn’t going to be a small job, but it’s definitely got potential as a keeper to run alongside the Princess. Something that offers a completely different set of capabilities and uses. My only advice would be to make a thorough analysis and list of what needs fixing before you start, and be prepared to swing the axe if it’s going to be too much for you.
Depends on your level of 'properly' really. As long as it's functional and as safe as something like this can reasonably be, I reckon that's good enough. Going to the extent of restoring interior plastics and exterior paint is probably a level I won't be going to here.
@@noexpensespentstudiosFunctional and safe. Forget about cosmetics. Oh, and add an aftermarket temperature gauge. 😂 When it’s drivable then you’ll be able to enjoy the same kind of “flying filing cabinet” experience that you liked my Land-Rover to. 🤣🤣🤣
Not yet, but it will be next year all being well. Want to get it sorted and happy first and of course use it for what I bought it for. I'll be sure to announce when it's up for grabs, though there is already a short queue of interested people you'll have to join and I've only had it five minutes!

Stay tuned! More episodes definitely coming soon.
There’s one of these in my local scrapyard. I’ll message you on AS about it.
Cheers! It might have something useful.

It's perfect! I love your enthusiasm for this car. Can't wait to see how it goes!
Happy Christmas!
And to you! Looking forward to getting stuck in on this one.
This reminds me of a Ford Courier post bus I had some years ago. That was Royal Mail red so even the colour was similar.
Was that the old Fiesta based one? Not seen one of those since BT were using them with the grey livery in the 90s.
@@noexpensespentstudios Yes, Mk IV Fiesta.
I like R5's and this looks great! Good luck & Merry Christmas!
And to you :D It's going to be a fun adventure!
Can't wait to watch the progress on this! Im rhe beneficiary guy when you acquired the BX.
Merry Christmas! 🎄⛄🎅
I miss my BX, and my other BX... maybe I'll have another some day.

It's only money right? What's it for if not spending. That's what I'm telling myself anyway. ;)
Merry Christmas 👍❤️. 2025 will be a great year for you I promise 🙏🏻
It had better be! 2024 has been An Year for sure. Hoping you enjoy what's left of it anyway.

@@knackeredrovers It's true, this has all the refinement of a chest of drawers falling down a staircase, when it comes to noise inside.
