The tempo is way too fast. Is this using the original motor or has it been replaced with something newer that is causing it to play like that? I have an edwards chime with the original motor as well as a telechron motored Rittenhouse. Both of them play the melody at about half the tempo of the unit in this video
I have an Edwards Claridge C-50 8 tone door chimes and am in need of a wiring diagram. I only have 1 button hooked to it and get a single chime from it when I push the button. The base has 5 terminals and not 6 as this one has. The unit worked several months ago but since renovations happened I only get a single chime. Thanks.
I have the Edwards C50 4 tube system and want to "service" it. The chimes work but the plungers are noisey, motor is noisy, contacts are dirty. Can anyone tell me what I should do? The unit says no lubrication right on it so I won't be lubricating, thanks
Hello. Sorry that I've missed these responses. They got buried deep in my in-box and I just found them today. The electrical switching motor unit on an old Edwards door chime was totally worn out and I replaced it with an Arduino. Hope this helps.
just in case you didnt see my reply, here it is again....mine died .if i send you the board could you replace the parts...and what would be the approximate cost?
P Emelda Wallen Yes, one place and only one, but it's expensive. Knock Doorbells. Nobody makes these now. You have to buy vintage, and most (eBay, etc.) will arrive in used-up, worn-out shape. I'm a collector of these, Tim at Knock has restored some of mine, and they sound (and look) brand new.
Since these are the BEST PIPES in the whole wide, wide, wide world , where do I get started in building
something as awesome as this ?

There is only one company that manufactures new long-tube Westminster door chimes - Opera Carillons of Montreal - and they cost almost US$3,000.
That's real classy :-)
txs so classic 1950s
my fav sound
If If a 4-tube doorbell sounds very faint, is the transformer too small for it?

This was an Edwards door chime with a non repairable sequence switch motor.
I installed an Arduino in place of the motor. The tubes were original.
I have a door chime just like this one that I need to rebuild, and I'm looking for some detailed wiring images, can you help?
+shalakopony77 If you're still looking, I can help.

He didn't build this - this was manufactured by Edwards Signaling.
