I've done a great deal of equipment repair welding. I have to agree with many of the comments on this repair job especially the prep work (or lack of) and the use of 6013 rods instead of a 7018 type. But, in their defense, we don't know all the details or the demands placed on them, or what they have for equipment or skills. I'm sure they do the best they can with what they have and if we were in their shoes maybe we'd do the same.
I have a lot of hours in 966D and 966E loaders like this one, used in mine duty. NEVER saw any of the cracks and breaks like on this poor machine. I would like to see the operators in action.
Also, the welding rod they are using is a Bridge Supreme J421, which is a 6013 classification. Should be a 80 or 70 low hydrogen rod used on those loader arms.
yes, i was wondering what theyve been doing. the machine doesnt look like its got that many hours up on it for the all the cracks all over the boom.
I worked in a rock quarry for years as a welder repairing the heavy equipment and rock crushers. What these people did here to "repair" this 966 boom is utterly embarrassing!
OK Mr big clever big dick. Mr Thomasjones613.. Now enlighten us ordinary normal people what you would do to mend it. Don't just criticise, Mr clever precious.
exactly fella
Thank goodness he’s wearing safety sandals 👍

ouais, c'est des ""babouches de sécurité "" !!!!!!
The Paint is the Superstructure on this Loader
🤣
Never seen a loader with so many cracks.
Thniks
@@Sussilando okay 👌
they always amaze me

I feel like so much of their issues could be fixed if they just did some damn prep work and not rushed in.
The welds are full of slag and it will break again next week.
Thanks you 👌

This Loader Boom has been repaired over and over again in the same place and they keep making the same mistakes.
Thanks 🙏

@@vano3123, "CAT 966H Wheel Loader Parts Manual".
@@vano3123 Exactly. In rich countries machines are scrapped or simply replaced, many parts available. This is not the case in 3rd world countries.
