I also had that same bad habit of my thumb being horizontal with the neck versus the proper method of perpendicular. If you play the endurneck like Ola intended, it forces you to place your thumb in the correct position. My Strandberg has made me a better player.

Don't apologize for your technique...Strandberg community needs more of that smooth stratty doublestop feel! You sound great.

I appreciate that, I’m definitely eyeing the Boden Classic and really into Strandberg guitars now.

@@isaiahhartguitar I have the yellow Tele-ish Boden. Love it. No excuse not to have a nice guitar everywhere you go now. It's so mobile.

One of my friends has a Plini and let me play it and it brought out so many different ideas and was oddly easier to play even with the Endure neck not being anything close to the Wizard style necks I had played for years. Needless to say, I now I have a Boden NX6 and love it!

I got a Plini model back in February, and its the best guitar I've ever had/played. I'm so stoked more people are coming to Strandberg with the Essentials line coming out

The Essental is definitely the gateway I and many others needed to try Strandberg. I’m already looking at 2-3 other models I hope I could own in the future.

@@isaiahhartguitar I cant recommend the Plini enough, as long as you don't care about covering every kind of tone (3 way switch instead of the 5 way) and IMHO it looks the best

I've had my strandberg for about a year and I couldn't be happier with it. Mines about 5 lbs and I can sit and play in any position. Holds tune. With 10's on it they feel like 9's. It's also fairly loud even unplugged. I had 3 headless strandberg ish guitars before I purchased the strandberg. Enjoy.

I think the reason why they removed the zero fret is because if you have a lower profile string play that over time as the frets wear you get that plinking sound which is annoying. It's easier to change out a nut versus having to replace all the frets as they age if you have a low string profile. The NX additions all have the zero fret, but are much more expensive. The essentials model is a budget focused model that offers the same Strandberg experience. I have a NX Machacek edition and I love the dark sound of this model. It works with tons of genres and feels so good to play. I just can't seem to play a standard guitar anymore. I have a PRS piezo that I find uncomfortable to play. I am hoping that Strandberg releases a piezo style guitar so I can replace my PRS.

That makes a lot of sense, I’ve had a similar experience. I do still like playing my guitars but a vast majority of guitars I play that aren’t mine just feel bad and uncomfortable to me. The Strandberg made me realize how sensitive I can be to guitar setups and ergonomics.

    Good review, thanks!
BTW I recommend that you change your camera orientation so that it's not pointing straight at the window, since it washes out the rest of the image. It's always better to have the light behind the camera, shining at the main subject.

Thanks for the advice, I’m definitely gonna try make that happen for the setup as soon as possible! I’ll have to rearrange some stuff but it would be worth the better image quality.

I just played a Strandberg for the first time at the store yesterday, and I feel the same as you. I'm big on vintage guitar aesthetics, but you can't deny how the Strandberg plays, and I've always been into lightweight guitars anyway. I'm still not 100% sold on the look though 😬 so I'd appreciate a video of you playing live, just to see how it looks in that setting!

I agree 100%, I will say now that I own a Boden, the other ones are becoming more and more easy to look at and I’ve been really digging the Brand lately! I will definitely play the Boden at my next few gigs to get some footage of what’s it looks like. I will warn you that I’m 6’7 do you can expect it to look a tab bit goofier on me than others!

The setup Is so good that it frustrates me that i can’t get other, more expensive guitars to play like this one. The neck gap is something I’m not a fan of. It’s something I want address in a video about more things I found out playing it overtime.
