This piece was used on the Pas de deux between Mina and Dracula on the International Ballet Theatre version of this ballet. It was just amazing the ballerina dancing with Dracula dancing and flying (!) above the stage.
A stunning performance Milena. Sumi Jo would be more than happy with that! Wojciech Kilar was an extraordinary composer. I adore the soundtrack to The Ninth gate and this piece is a standout for me.

A watched the film as a kid 9 maybe 10 years old and in my mid 20s have came to appreciate music like thus am 30 years old now and still continue to listen very haunting and beautiful.
Movies drove me to classical music and some more modern forms of it: 2001 (especially) and Eyes Wide Shut- took me to Ligeti (and through Ligeti found Gorecki and his breath taking works) The Hunger - took me to Delibes and Alegri The Ninth Gate - took me to Raschmaninoff Star Trek the motion picture, the Omen and Legend - took me to Jerry Goldsmith Blade Runner - took me to Vangelis Not many movies have the perfect marriage of music and visuals. But the Ninth gate delievers
Wow thanks very much for that me too, what about the fifth element opera scene got me as a kid aswell and yeah eyes wide shut for me too but not watched that film in a long time and forgotten about the music in it so thanks again 👍
@@thomashamilton7611 When I was a child I would be amazed by scifi movies and horror. I associated the music on those movies with classical music. I'd make my parents by me classical music cassetes in search of the stuff I was hearing on those movies, but couldn't find them. So to me, visuals and sound became even more indistinguishable. As I grew older I became more aware of different kinds of music in movies and did a proper search (didn't even knew OSTs existed, ahah). Now I collect OSTs of those movies I find sound and visuals really compliment eachother.
