I live in Calgary, Canada, and we don't use an air conditioner in my home. It can get hot too in the summer, even if it's not as hot as India. However, many other houses use air conditioners. There was a heatwave in many parts of USA and Canada last summer and some died. In winter, I think almost every home in Canada uses the heater, or at least some kind of warming tool, or many would die from the cold.
Air conditioners don't cool birds in the sky. Rather they make cities unnaturally hot and makes city air lighter.
