« Passacaglia » is a musical genre practiced during the Baroque period and a dance just like the « Chaconne ». Originally imported by Spanish sailors, it became a dance prized by the nobility in Europe. At this stage of its evolution, it becomes indistinguishable from the chaconne, because the names seem interchangeable according to the composers. It is then a stylized piece, in three beats, with a slower rhythm, sometimes a little more solemn, and which can reach important proportions. The passacaglia, like the chaconne, is used exceptional in the suite of dances, of which it is almost always the final piece. On a musical level, around 1620, it became a piece with variations on an obstinate bass, a short harmonic pattern, of a few notes, repetitive, with a lively tempo, it is essentially music for keyboard, and sometimes used for singing. This musical form was equally intended for improvisation, the obstinate bass lending itself particularly well to it. Georg Friedrich Handel took this name and set it to music. Suite No.7 in G minor, HWV 432, in six movements: VI. Passacaille (Passacaglia). Published around 1720. My sincere thanks to Rafaela Mortágua for his pianistic delicacy. Excellent listening ! *Lucien*
Came across your interpretation by chance and am glad I did as it is so beautiful . Congratulations in your contribution to the world of beautiful music.
essa musica fez parte sonora d um seriado "Floradas na Serra" na tv Cultura em Sao Paulo no ano d 1974 .Amooo demais e vc como pianista é fantastica. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉Parabens🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Why has the left-hand introduced a stagnant pause that takes away the flow making this version sound stilted - just like a hesitant beginner would play an arpeggio? This is the proper way to play this piece .. ua-cam.com/video/-9mOnFFaRwQ/v-deo.html
@@lauraprincipato8079 .. everybody can see and hear the deliberate pause of the left-hand which throws the timing completely off making this a stilted performance that has no flow or continuity as the original composer intended. Don't pretend you don't realize this!
@@lauraprincipato8079 .. where did I claim there was? You're clearly struggling trying to avoid the issue that I have exposed to everyone - tough for you! Lol! 😁

Qué bellos matices. Es como una pelotita que cae por una escalera, se detiene un instante, y sigue cayendo... No la escuché así en otras versiones.

The original does not need 'interpretation' - it is what it is.
Fake interpretations only make it worse!
❤my father's name was Charles Adkins
I have missed you daddy
.. the more I listen to this the more awful that artificial pause ruins the tempo and takes away the flow that Händel intended.
Is there a video of you playing the same song so we can compare?

pourquoi ce bref arrêt à chaque mesure ? Celà affaibli la valeur de l'interprétation. Ça manque de fluidité
This just cuts the inspiration with so many pauses!!!! Dislike for sure.
Terrible!
