This theory is very similar to one i have had for months: I belive Wu's old bamboo staff was the dragon icon for the impirium source dragon, and Raz used it to summon the source dragon and capturing it, causing the merge. Evidence:
-After season 7, we never saw his bamboo staff again. This might mean that it got lost in time, into the future in impirium for lord ras to find.
-His staff important already as it led to the realm crystal. Also, another thing i noticed is in the tomb of TFSM, there is a room that looks like a portal gate room from the temple in the tournament of sources.
Very cool! The only problem is that when Wu and Acronix were fighting, Acronix easily cut a small chunk of it off using a simple blade and a mediocre swing. Master Wu hardly survived the explosion on the iron doom and it looks like Krux and Acronix didn't, so I'd be surprised if the staff did, but it could very easily be a continuity error on LEGO's part, so very much possible.
Tbh, that actually makes a lot of sense. Especially when you regard Wu’s quote of “Time, the thread that holds the fabric of reality together.” With the destruction of the 3 other Time Blades and the Iron Doom being stuck in time… probably around the events post Seabound… so around the time of Crystalised and the Merge, it would make sense that, that incident could’ve definitely been the accidental catalyst for the apocalyptic event of The Merge. And due to Wu destroying the iron doom and the time blades… it does make him responsible, although accidental, for the Merge, if this was the actual incident that caused it. So yeah. Very interesting theory
One problem. What about the coalescence that almost occurred when the First Spinjitzu Master was around to stop it?

Just a reminder but elemental powers come from source dragon and one of them died thats probably why the merge happened... but we are missing some parts of the puzzle and we will have to wait for season 3 or later to know if this is true or not

Okay, not a bad theory, not bad at all. It’s actually really good! But there’s one key point that kinda gets rid of this theory. If I’m not mistaken, Krux and Acronix are the original elemental masters of time behind the First Spinjitzu Master. How did the coalescence almost occur in the past? I know that it is time and it’s possible that they appeared in the past, but the timelines of when the Coalescence almost occurred and when Krux and Acronix were elemental masters doesn’t add up. Sorry to disappoint/bother you.
To be fair, it was never stated that the Coalescence nearly happened, it was only said that the First Spinjitzu Master foresaw the event, plus, the dragon cores are made of elemental energy, presumably including temporal.
@@TheSmartestBrickhead I suppose. Something doesn’t align tho. In the Temple of the Dragon Cores, the spirit said that the dragons cores kept the merge at bay and that the realms were prevented from smashing into each other. That vocabulary concludes that the merge did happen at least once in the past, but was stopped before it occurred.
I think the way Master Wu caused the Merge was:
Because he manipulated the green ninja test of Morro, Or simply because he blames himself for what happened to Morro, Since the events that happened in the Possession, Including the destruction of the Prominent and the Realm of Djinjago ...

Also, In the trailer when Lloyd was bringing the scrolls to Wu, Behind them on the wall It says in ninjargon “Control time, control everything”. In episode 14 of season 1 “The last djinn” at 9:36 the text on the right of frohicky on the wall also says “Control time, Control everything” in ninjargon.
1:21 How can Garmadon disappear from Ninjago 50 years ago if Lloyd is ten years old at the start of the show? The earliest that he can disappear is eleven years before the start of the show.

I was thinking the same how time twins could've caused the merge after they got sent to the time thing
I think krux and acronix failed to escape and this causes temporal malfunctions which caused the merging of time which is bknded eith spsce so this bonded soacetime as said but they only overlapped after they fully built up

The source dragons are going to use their power to supercharge the timeblade of reversal and send one or all of the ninjas back in time, to stop the merge from ever happening.
The blades are made of cronosteel which with an elemental power in it and when destroyed the element will go back to the elemental master

But on Google if you search up what happened to the time twins after season seven it says that they were sent 40 years into the future and then locked in cripterium t2.0 more accurately because the time was taken away from the two twins not destroyed. It goes back-and-forth in time, trapped in a vortex therefore, it cannot escape to find a new house because it’s trapped throughout all the time it can’t go to the future because time will stop it can’t go to the past because there were elemental masters of time back then it would destroy the power, therefore is stuck in time itself, that is my theory

I really like your Theory, but i think it has some things, that really don't line up, i think the time travel of Wu Acronix and Krux caused the merge, you said, they went forward afew more times, yes, and then when the iron doom exploded thats when the merge happend, but wu didn't end up there, because he himself had some reversal energy in him and so he went back in time and thought, because he saw a few things that happen before that that he has more time and the core reason why the time power did't get passed down is because one part of the power is still stuck in the bioling sea, thats also why the merge happend, bevause the time power grew unstable, and the way to reverse it would be to destroy the last time blade and that is somehow just with the help of the source dragons possible or they need to get the blade to combine elements again. So hot take, acronix and krux are alive but trapped somewhere in the merged realms, the next season will focus on the forbidden five but they are not the main antagonists of the show, they will be defeated in season 3 or start of season 4, meanwhile ras will train arin and we learn more about him and his master, and at the end of season 3 arin gets good again, ras will find the reversal time blade and now wants to travel to the source dragons, ending os season 4 will be ras master reveal and revealing that they held the time times captured. As a special for 15 Years of Ninjago there will be a animated movie where the master of lord ras and ras destroy the blade and reverse the merge, somehow the ninja all end up in diffrent places again and they try and connect and in the end there will be the reveal of garmadon and they will fight ras and his master and deafeat them and restore the merge, but krux and acronix escape. the last 3 seasons then will conclude in a animated movie again and there everything ends in a big bang that sets of for perhaps a new series. A few notes on the way: Ras master coul be a source oni or sth of that sort, pixal could be the administrator

Wu sending garmadon to the underworld wasnt 50 years ago, because he would've still had to be around for Lloyd to be conceived and that would've been like 10 years before the pilots

So the iron doom had probably got sent to the future which is the merge times
