Happy to have found this channel. It is always satisfying watching these repairs at the solder level.
Happy new year, it's the genuine and honest repair people like you that the world needs more of. Very good content to put on and listen to as well 👌
Happy new year the cod3r and to everyone on this channel I enjoy this channel learnt a lot in the last couple of months of watching
Being honest with customers is the best approach to doing this kind of work. There are times where customers expectations are unrealistic in the sense that they assume it can always be fixed. I am in this mess right now with someone, replaced their switch lite usb c port, works perfectly fine, unfortunately the console is giving the blue screen (bad apu issue) and they think it's my fault. Only thing I could really say other than explaining what the actual issue was was they they should be happy I am not charging them for replacing the port at all.
Yeah honesty is the best policy. I feel like if I'm honest with my customers they'll keep coming back when they need me again instead of trying to find someone else. Build up a trusting relationship and everyone wins. Some customers are unrealistic but unfortunately it's just a part of this game 🙄
@@TheCod3r for sure. I've been doing repairs on and off for 15+ years but have turned it into a legitimate home business right before covid started. It's my therapy when I want to get away from things.
Would love to see a video or just some explanation on some of the not so nice experiences you've had (assuming you've had at least 1) and how you dealt with it.
That right there is a very honest man. Keep up the great work, and happy new year!
Thank you, much appreciated. It's always best to be honest with customers. It keeps them coming back too
@@TheCod3r nice to see another honest repairer most techs will just charge the quoted price cause its already agreed!
@@DeltaCmndrElite thanks mate, yeah I don't like to deceive my customers. They will come back to me if I'm honest
I just love your videos, you are so thorough and completely transparent and honest about works, I hope you continue to do well mate best technician I have seen 👍

Happy new year to you and your family
Thank you for the upload mate ❤️😘
Another good video...the little improvements to the videos make them a lot better IMHO
You’re a wiz with this stuff. Very impressive.
Cracking video bud. Will try the way you removed/put the port on next time for sure 😊
Thanks buddy. Honestly works a treat. Jusy be careful to male sure you wait for it to be fully molten before moving it 😁
Great job dude well done!!!!!!
Nothing better than watching someone fix shit whilst you do electronics work/fix shit. Recently found your channel, bud. I gotta join in watching some live streams when I catch them :)
Happy new year mate.
@@TheCod3r hi mate do you know there exist a boardview for the nintendo switch. If you want i can sent it.
Tinning the port pins is a good idea.
Massive respect to you. Anyone who can train themselves to work from home to feed your family deserves respect. Good skills. I have a challenge for you haha. I have a Microsoft Surface Pro 6 i7 256gb. It needs a new charge port. I can't even see a screw. Fancy it?
You got this Phil
Any chance of seeing a sff pc being chucked in a faulty console case, to use as a plex server or something that looks cool. Would love that
Golden hands 💙
Hi been watching your videos last few weeks love them learned so much I have a repair shop mainly do iphone ipad board repairs started doing more than hdmi ports after watching you I have a board here I’m struggling with short on 12v rail replaced 4c50 few times resistors and u9e1 short keeps coming back any ideas thanks dave
It's hard to say really but if you keep relieving a short and it keeps reappearing the chances are you have another bad component elsewhere which you'll need to locate
Always good to test your own equipment on garbage boards. I found my hot air popped the layers of boards apart at the temps Phil uses (prob because my hot air/solder/desolder station is quality Chinesium......!🤣) Mine works fine at 380° but the airflow needs to be less or I lose components........ Definitely need to do some more testing before I let myself loose on the real thing!
Yeah definitely mate. I remember back in the day using the cheaper equipment and having to keep adjusting temps because it was never consistent enough. The better quality tools seem to put out consistent temps so you can kind of set and forget 😉
Happy New Year. what happened to the shed.
Thanks mate happy new year. I moved into the loft because of the cold weather being in the shed it was just too cold
Hi please help, I changed on xbox one x hdmi port, esd Booster ic chip and ic reitemir chip but it doesn't work 4k why is it possible to fix it thanks
Got the same issue with my switch. Was left for a long time in charging dock and it now won't charge. Tested chargers there OK. Switch won't come on despite normal resetting as can get stuck in stand by mode.
What do u charge etc
Is that offer too fix stuff for any console? Got a one x that won’t read discs anymore brother
I was wondering if you fixed Xbox one controllers as I have a odd glitch with my left joystick?
Hope your well mate 👍
@@TheCod3r yea all good here's to a new year hopefully 2022 is a lot better than 2021 lol great channel anyway pal 👍
Nice!
what scope are you using?
Cool👍🎄loading ...
Asking question for friend on switch Mario reg edition switch when u turn it on u can hear the sounds of clicking but the screen stays black out wat s causing this issue jw if u know
Sounds like either a bad lcd or back-light issue mate, or could be a damaged lcd connector if the console has been apart before
@@TheCod3r Okay thanks its brand new only four months old is weird for this too happened thank you again
Great content ... But why are you in an attic that looks freezing ?!?
Thanks mate. Nah temps are fine. Ambient temp is about 21⁰C which is good for me :)
Question for you on Switches. I have two with the same issue. no video output to screen or when docked, blacklight works, the switch charges correctly and turns on (i can use the digitizer and hear the system working.) I replaced the LCD connector and P13 but there has been no difference. When Docked the docks LED turns on then off. I've tried different screens and still the same issue. I hope you have time to possibly respond these have me frustrated.
Hey mate. It sounds like you might have a display driver issue. There's 2 drivers which could potentially cause it. One is right next to the LCD connector and the other one is just above the audio IC on the back of the board. There's also 2 drivers on the back of the board over on the right hand side. The bottom one controls back-light and I think the other one is something to do with the display :)
@@TheCod3r thank you. Would one of them impact both the lcd and the dock output? Or would they both have to be replaced to properly test it? Cheers
Haven't seen a vid from him in a while
Whats your office there mate you in a pidgeon loft or somert
It's my loft in the house mate. I used to be in the shed but was too cold lol
Can you post a link from a good part shop on Aliexpress?
I buy mine in batches of 50 personally, but of course I can post a link to them
a.aliexpress.com/_mNGapcy
They work out at around £0.73 per port in packs of 50. They also sell packs of 10, 20, 100 and 200 with 200 working out at £0.65 per port (UK tax included)
@@TheCod3r Thank you! 👍🏻
Do you know the specifications of the fuse after the USB C port?
My daughter as Nintendo switch it turns on but after about 5 to 10 minutes of playing it crashes is it something that you can fix please
Possibly but I'd need to try and diagnose the problem and unfortunately can't make any guarantees. You can book it in with me via my website if you wish. I don't charge for diagnosis if I can't fix the problem so if it can't be fixed you only pay for return shipping
Hi fella what's your address for repairs are u uk based?
Love your channel and work.. but do you just come right off the pillow and start a video?? Dude that hair lol

Aww why you mad bro? Uncle fester not wanna play with you since you got older?
Hi everyone. Unfortunately there's a problem with the edit. I accidently cut out the initial testing of M92T36. My bad... I do test again which confirms my initial suspicions but I dont think it's worth re-editing the video to fix a 10 second gap. Sorry about the mishap
