Hi John, Had a 4Runner years ago and loved it. 4wheel drive like yours. Put about 80,000 on her and went with a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Loved it also but had a lot of issues after 50,000. Went with the Hundai for the safety features and 60,000 warranty, and cost compared to a new 4Runner. Really loved my 4Runner and wish you many miles of happy towing and road trips. Looking forward to seeing you and Miriam again.

Excellent choice on the new ride! I’ve always wanted a 4 runner but they are pricey

The best therapy is wind therapy. As they say in the classics “you don’t see too many cycles outside a therapist office. Another great and informative video. We are in the process of traveling to Australia and doing a lap around the country via motorcycle. Take care

That is one of the places I have on my bucket list, the BRP. That was a beautiful overlook. I bought my 2015 Ford F-150 XL Supercab in 2016, and it just clicked over 31K. That is my retirement truck.

Congratulations on the new suv. And congratulations on making your previous vehicle last so long! Here, the rust kills off our vehicles before their time; I've had 15 vehicles so far and none made it close to 100 000 miles (160 000km). And cabin fever is real! I can't wait to get back on my Spyder! Cheers!

Love Toyotas. Had a 2005 Camry and a 2009 Corolla, a 2014 Sienna, Now have a 2019 Sienna and 2023 Tacoma TRD Off Road. Gave my 2005 to my oldest granddaughter and my Ford F450 to my oldest daughter since they still have a travel trailer RV. Sold my 2009 to CarMax to buy my 2011 Spyder RTS. Traded my 2014 for my 2018. My 2023 Tacoma came with Apple CarPlay.

Toyotas are awesome. They last forever. I have a 2012 4Runner. It will be the last vehicle you will need to buy.

So glad you got a little "windshield" therapy and got to put the new SUV thru it's paces. Hopefully you got to get some lunch and a beverage at one of the breweries in Roseland on the way down the mountain. 😉 Road trips are great for clearing the head and enjoying the journey, no matter the destination.

Being of a similar age as you, I decided last fall that camping in a small two person tent was not as much fun as it used to be (up and down setting up the tent, crawling in/out on hands and knees is just getting to hard on my plump body and bad knees). So I bought the smallest toy hauler I could find that will hold my Spyder and I plan on riding an area and moving on to the next and so on. I’m anxious for spring to try my new method out and see how it’s going to work. Being somewhat of a purist, I.e. I like to ride there and back I have mixed feelings about my new mode of travel but think I just need to evolve to continue the fun! I’ll be anxious to follow your trip(s) this year and see how this works for you two, too,

Morning John and Miriam. Sorry to see you gave up your Explorer. We have one. I'm assuming the Toyota was what you need to take you on your journeys. I'm surprised that the Blue Ridge was even open. Hauling your three wheeler is not a bad idea. Long trips on it is a bit overwhelming. See your still quite ambitious about traveling which is very good. Keep the blacktop ahead of ya and keep exploring. Hope to see yall sometime in the near future.

We will keep the 07 Ford for a while. It still runs too good to give it up. If I was to sell it, I would be lucky to get $1500. Its our "backup vehicle" I use to run to errands i0n.

Early 80s I happen to be at glacier point on a couple of hang gliders are taking off. Of course they had to have X number of park officials there and X number of park officials you know at the landing site and they were only allowed to fly for about 45 minutes I asked the guy wanted the flyers I said how much the permits cost and he said $10,000 that’s early 1980s. I decided I didn’t want to do hang gliding based upon just that one cost.

Hi John great video. I do have a question. Since y'all have upgraded to a better trailer to tow the Spyder. My question is are you or Miriam experiencing back pain as a result of long ride times. By purchasing a trailer would eliminate a lot of ride time. Please advise.

Interested if you've done any research on good RTL Trailers? I am looking at the Slingmods Stinger trailer I think it is, specifically for Spyders. Any recommendations?

You are now ruined. You will never go back to Ford after Toyota. With the 4Runner. 200 k will come and go without notice.
