Great video. If you jump pins 7 and 8 on your k+dcan cable you should be able to use NCS Expert. For whatever reason, this is necessary to get it to work on the E46. If you need exact steps let me know because the coding isn’t very difficult and you have everything needed to get it done.

hey, not sure if you changed something in your wiring, but the Brown/black clutch wire needs to go the the Brown/Black break wire, you hooked it up to #3 which was a brown/grey.
Hi, thanks video, could it be you plugged the pin 20 clutch in x60004, as according to me it should be on x60002...

Frank Smith Tunning Tech has a one button SMG to Manual tune available, you can do that instead of doing the coding yourself

Hey man, great videos. I also did the swap. Cruise not working with wiring done and coding done with ECUWORX and NCSExpert. Did you fix your cruise? The only error I'm getting is Error 80 on the DME for clutch switch related problem.
No I haven’t tried to troubleshoot it yet.
@@RacingRejects thanks for the reply, I went diggin through my car and found that I've ordered the wrong clutch switch. Regular e46 and M3 have different part number switches. Cruise will not work with the regular switch. The right switch is part # 61319122700. Check what you ordered. I ordered the wrong one ending in 898.
Great job! Your issues with programming might not be with the software or your skills. The obd2 cable you have might not have pins 7 & 8 soldered together and if that’s the case a lot of the software won’t read or write properly.

Also did I miss it in the first video, but did you tap the bellhousing for the gear identification sensor?
No. It’s not needed if you wire it the way I did.

Hey I really need some help. I did the exact wiring you did in my car won’t start is there anything else you think I might missed
It’s been over 2 years since I completed the swap so I’d probably have to watch the video myself to know what I did. The links below are the ones I referred to the most and will be helpful. You should focus on the EWS since that is the only bit of wiring during the swap that could keep the car from starting.

I did not. I haven’t been able to get my cruise control to work, but it didn’t work before the swap either.

Hey what fixed your stalling issue ?
The stalling stopped after flashing the ECU with the ECUWorx manual tune.

What did everything cost you?
I would have to find and add up all my receipts. I would estimate around $1500 with all new parts and upgraded shifter.
