It's too bad that some of the best games on the Jaguar, like Tempest and Raiden, were also available in Playstation and Saturn. Raiden Project on PS1 had 1 & 2 and were near arcade perfect, and Tempest 2000 ports on Saturn and PS1 (under the name Tempest X3) were technically better versions.
I actually wanted to buy that tempest port I hopes it's affordable
@@SharonisCarin321 Llamasoft still make these Tempest games. The sequels are: Space Giraffe (Xbox 360, Windows), TxK (PS Vita), and Tempest 4000 (Xbone, PS4, Windows).
The Jaguar got a better version of Doom than the Saturn, so there's one win for Atari.
But they came 1-2 years later.

Yeah I just want to focus on streaming. Wasnt really about being a duo as you say. I just got burnt out doing the lets plays. And it became harder and harder to record them. We did like 300-400 lets plays. I think thats a pretty good run anyway.
@@mikematei I really hope you got a fat severance pay or get residuals because so much of what that channel/AVGN character is, was stemming from your personality & input, even when you weren't on screen.
What's the difference between a let's play and a stream? They seem like the same thing to me.
@@TheNewRobotMaster On Let's Plays you have to film yourself playing then do some editing then upload it to youtube, or where ever. Streaming you just set up the equipment and play while responding to chat, it's like playing a game with friends helping you but you're the only one actually playing, like an old Arcade experience.
I know with covid it's been hard, but imo streaming is pretty much just a long let's play every day anyway. And I'd rather play games with my friends...but hey. To each their own. I'm not here to start shit. I'm just sorry to see you go. Best of luck!

I have the utmost respect for Mike. He lives his life how he wishes, and stays true to himself. Mike was an important part of Cinemassacre in the beginning, but now he has his own thing and wants to fully focus on streaming. Personally, I watch Mike’s streams far more often and with more enjoyment than I watch the new Nerd episodes. So I fully support Mike in leaving Cinemassacre, especially since Mike didn’t even own any of it, he was just an “employee” there as far as I understand. So why work for someone else when you can just do your own thing instead?
Hey Mike, good luck on your future endeavors. I want to tell you I’ve been a fan of Cinemassacre since the early days of UA-cam. And slowly I grew to also enjoy your content. And I just want to tell you that your guys content helped me get through some hard times in my life and remind you that your content can be a lot more than just entertainment to some people. Thanks. I really just like doing the live streams so thats what I want to do. Some people will make more out of it, but really, thats all it is. I enjoy streaming and just want to do that. James and I are still friends. Hopefully you’ll swing by my streams and talk games.

Raiden was awesome! That and Alien vs Predator were my go to games for Jaguar!
This was the only non Sega/Nintendo console I wanted from that time. I remember trying the demo of Aliens vs. Predator at Electronics Boutique.

Twin Bee is a fun space shooter game. Really goofy too, the powerups are bells and you can change what they do by shooting them before picking them up

Hi Mike again! If you want to record Atari Lynx games, the best option is through emulation and the emulator that I recommend is Bizhawk 2.5.2 which is a multi emulator btw. It's the bestest emulator so far.
I nominate Battle Garegga on Saturn/Arcade. That particle effect? SO sick!
Mike, do you have the Jaguar GD (SD cart) in your hands? So you can play more games like Protector, Atari Karts, Attack of the Mutant Penguins, Breakout 2000, Iron Soldier and Iron Soldier 2, Missile Command 3D, Rayman, Ultra Vortek, Super Burnout, Val d'Isère Skiing and Snowboarding, Zero 5 and Skyhammer. There's also some really cool homebrew games like Rebooteroids and the upcoming Kings of Edom :D (P.S.: Power Drive Rally does have music! Press 0 to activate it ;) )

Yeah! Nice to see some Jaguar! Just played the port of Xenon 2 yesterday. Interesting port.
Mike, you keep dodging the powerups in Tempest 2000, you need to collect them. At the start of every level when it says "superzapper recharge" that means you are getting a screen clearing bomb. You get one every level and it seems like you are pressing the superzapper button by accident at the start of every level. When it says "eat electric death" that means you used your superzapper.
When I was a teenager my mom gave me the choice, I could get either a Playstation or a Jaguar....I chose the Jaguar and all my friends and family hated me for it. Hated myself for it. Was stuck with Cybermorph and Wolfenstein while everyone else was playing Street Fighter Alpha and Final Fantasy. One of the biggest fails of my life.
I had a PS1 in 2000 and only had 4 games: Frogger 2, No One Can Stop Mr. Domino, Pac Man World, and Namco Museum Volume 3

I reviewed more Jaguar games than anyone one the internet 😃. I did at least 2 top tens you should look at and the home brew seen is strong on the Jaguar. I gave you and James a copy of JaguarZombies. Wolf 3D is the best on the system.
Wait... was ZOOL 2 a Chupa Chups banded game? That's fucking weird. The only brand to ever pull that off was 7-Up with Cool Spot, at least the Sega Genesis version. Great character animation, good side scrolling run and gun game play.
Raiden reminds me of Raptor : Call of the Shadow on PC
Love Raiden on Jag, great sound and controls.
Jag Raiden is my favorite version. The music makes it for me.
In Raiden, you power up your weapon by grabbing multiple powerups of the same color. The "P" just powers up the weapon you have equipped to the max level. So, Mike, you could have had that super spreader earlier if you didn't keep giving it up in favor of the blue power up.
Yep, that's how it works in Raiden and it's for the best to do that.

I've played too much T2000,TXK,T4000 and Space Giraffe, watching Mike play Tempest drives me crazy. XD He dodges like 20 powerups in a row and wonders why they keep mentioning them. He also only seems to be able to waste the SuperZapper
on the start of some rounds and then doesn't know how to deal with baddies hanging out on the rim. Gahhh!
It might've been TXK that added this; but one cool thing about the newer Llamasoft iterations is that your "ship" actually fires from both of it's claw fingertip things meaning you can creep along the rim and let enemies wander into the one that isn't advancing, killing them.
(Also, as good as that Raiden port is, it has really weedy, thin sounding music. Even the SNES port (Raiden Trad) sounds better. :/ )

Mike, try playing Road Runner's Death Valley Rally with Nintendo Power as a companion (Volume 43 page 76). It shows all the maps and where to find the flags and powerups, to help keep you from getting too lost.

What? You can pause on Raiden Trad for Genesis. I was playing it on a Model 1 Genesis.
The music in Raiden was produced by the intern with a ToysRUS keyboard pecking with one finger I'm pretty sure.

Well mike has carried the cinemassacre brand for games for a very long time the AVGN thing which is all that made James hasn’t been good in a very very long time the last one I remember being any good was Seaman, he’s played out and he calls even AVGN episode a film which is silly.

Doom and Wolfenstein are fun. I bought Kasumi Ninja just because it was advertised so much for the Jag even though it is a bad game. I heard Ultra Vortek is a decent fighting game, but it's quite expensive. Hoping the JagGD comes out soon so I can play all the games available for it (no ODE yet).

I remember an old puzzle game you might be into Zoop it's a mix between a space shooter and a puzzle game it was released for Super Nintendo Genesis and Gameboy but the Jaguar and PS1 versions are considered the best, only significant difference between the versions really is soundtrack, but the Jaguar version allows you to save high scores, but the PS1 has some pretty render 3D shapes added to it

The bit question is a legit one even if the logo says, "64 bit." It actually has two 32 bit coprocessors (nicknamed Tom and Jerry). Nowadays, I don't think Atari would have been able to pull off that bad math and blatantly lying without being sued by consumers.

Remember seeing atari jaguar in game shops back in the 90s always curious about the system. They sold them for 50 to off load the un sold consoles wish I grabbed one as just checked ebay they are not cheap

your pause button did worked for like 1 sec in the beginning of the stream , mostly you open the controller and put it back in place or clean the button with alchool (where it contact with the board) the little magnet there need to be cleaned under

Been a follower of Cinemassacre since like avgn 10. Id never subed to Mikes channels because I got Mike on J&MM. Now that hes gone in subbed for sure. I cant imagine a world where Mike and James never so another video together. I'm hopeful that sometime in the future they collab again even for a one off.
I understand you wanting to focus on your streaming and wish you the best of luck. I do hope that this isn’t the end of videos with you and James playing multiplayer games even if it’s unedited, streamed, and once in a while. Streams that have experience of “two players on the couch” are pretty rare, and you both have a great back and forth. I’m sure you’ll do perfectly fine on your own though. Maybe James can be a guest on your channel once in a while.
on April 1st do a video called "Mike and Gadget Plays" and make it like a James and Mike Monday but parody your famous Minecraft gadget video. Or make it like a whole Let's Play with Gadget. I think it is a really good idea (no joke).
