Disclaimer: I do not yet hold a P. Eng., I am in my fifth year of Architectural Engineering and work in Project Management on Architectural Engineering-related projects.
I've been posting lots of Instagram video content recently, feel free to check it out! instagram.com/alpine.builds/
followed :3 if you were playing in vanilla would you still use trapdoors as a ceiling or something else like slabs?
I'd like to see a video from you about structural steel beams and columns in skyscrapers.
Looks like you're used to minecraft as much as revit :D
new and not new guy here, i would love it if you could do a house using realistic building techniques?
How do i copy and paste?
Just wanted to tell you I've been using a lot of your tips to build on my series of videos. I really admire your work
Thanks so much! I’m glad you find it useful :)
Hi
My grandpa is an architect and me and my sis got him into minecraft. He started building a lot. And his builds are so good. I mean of course they are. He designs buildings for a living. Idk what I expected
Would you mind posting a screenshot of some of his work? I'm super curious 😊

Wow these really look like a typical Ontario apartment (as I live in one almost identical to this)
The wait and hype behind that building all amounts to this awesome video ! Great stuff !
I don't even play this game anymore......yet this guys videos are a late night binge worthy collection
I really love watching videos of how to build things like this knowing full well that i'll never reach this level of building myself.
Textures! Textures! Look at the textures!
I'm obssesed with good textures.
And the trees! Amazing!
Watching this as an architect makes it that much more intriguing
I came for the building, now it feels like i've seen 10 years of college in 1 video hahah such a great video
that little sponsorship segment being pushed to the end earned you a sub.
the quality of your videos are phenomenal. people like you inspire me to go forward in entering this field of study in the future.
kudos to you for making entertaining videos like this one !!!
Happy to help! :)
The 7 minutes of this video passed like a breeze... the pace of the video is perfect
I'm no architect and I build a couple of blocks just like that but I always hated that at the end of the day you built a big empty building in a big empty world.
The reversed clips of you building were a nice touch
Great vid as always man! I use revit professionally and also am a Minecraft builder, why did you bother with the revit model when mockups in game would be so much quicker and more useful? Just wondering in case there's a really good reason I might try that!
I wanted to show what Revit was for the people new to architectural CAD softwares 😄 (it doesn’t actually serve a purpose in the design)
@@Alpine1 never would i thought to see revit and minecraft in the same video, but hey here we are i guess...
Really enjoyed this video! Greetings from Montreal! Noticed a few shots of the mtl skyline in the video
Thanks! I visited a couple months ago for the first time, beautiful city. I live in Ottawa so I’ll absolutely be back :)
Well, I have no words. This is just too impressive. I aspire to become an architect and I’m really interested in your content!
i love the use of green roofs and solar in your mc city :)
"so now we're just gonna place it over by the highway" Ah, sweet, pure NIMBY culture infiltrating the digital world. Beautiful.
I'm not looking to apply this to Minecraft (...mostly) but rather for my urban modern RPG (which also uses tile-based graphics, though in isometric view) so this is the closest I've come to someone who knows their stuff explaining how to do modern architecture with a tileset restriction and limited to, well, squares.
I'm taking so many notes right now... Also the height of the apartments on this build is incredibly tempting to make because this is EXACTLY the right height for a slimeblock elevator, I think I still have a model in my trial world that would fit just about in this floor plan. (I *could* just make some custom end gateway teleporters but slimeblock elevators are fun to use, they're bouncy!)
coincidentally i bought a keychron keyboard yesterday and then i get recommended this and see your keyboard. also cool vid
This video help me a lot to build my city, thnks bro
So you're the one responsible for how modern day buildings look
Montreal inspired! Nice!
Nice job my guy glad your getting back to uploading :)
you're such an inspiration, i noticed that i use a bigger scale when building i'd really like you could take a look at my city and give me architect feedback
What program did you use for the part where you made the look of the layout? it looks amazing and I figure my little sibling can use it one day since he wants to be an architect :D
Revit
That is very easy to you, why YOU ARE a pro
And my IT teacher said "Minecraft will not get you anywhere in life"
Lol, jokes on her!
Minecraft is pretty realistic in terms of nature. objects, physics etc. Is actually very educational. In that part, sims 4 too.
I'm currently studying Structural Architecture thanks to Sims 4. ;)
The segments with your double were super funny
Love it! Super useful. Love the amazing editing!
My mans even put RTU's and ducts on the roof, immaculate
Wanted a video like this for a long time
The editing in your channel is that underrated is should be illegal😂
Could you do a video of inside decorations? Im too when decorating
this is really dope
Very nice watch
Alpine you should make a video on how to make highways
I dunno about you, but i wouldnt wanna put living onto the ground floor, when you could use it for some mixed use instead. Stuff like a entrance lobby thing and maybe a shop or two and, since this is a rather large Building, a laundromat for the building and the buildings surrounding it.
Super cool video ! Do you make your own music ?
The only suggestion I’d make is maybe reverse the room layout so you don’t have bedrooms next to each other. Other than that, really great job.
This is awesome !
So cool !
1:15 ah yes the WAR room
my guy was taking freaking window washers into account!
The timelapse at 2:40 is backwards isn't it? if it is that's a really cool idea
Thank you! This is what I needed! :D
I uaed this for my city apartments tysm
i really like your videos' editing!
Thanks!
This is so valuable. Big props
By watching your videos u made my city hundred times better 😄😛
This is so extra. I love it
My father is a really successful civil engineer and i am a cad designer but this is sick
waow, thanks for the build tip, imma go build something similar to it now.
Just great! Like all of your videos!

Very interesting stuff!
These videos are too good
Alpine i love your builds and would just want to know how would i go about making a world to build a city do i make a superflat world and at what height should i build? If i want to add canals or rivers etc. Edit: and also what version of minecraft is the best and should i use some city themed resourcepack, something you use? and i already have shaders
I hope you get a response from him. Alpine hasn't answered any of my questions yet, and I've been a subscriber for about a year, or so. Looking through comments he unfortunately never really seems to reply to these sorts of questions anyway. Maybe a few here and there but he only really seems to respond to people that kiss his a$$. =/
You're more likely to get your questions answered by another subscriber because Alpine obviously only has time to make deals with sponsors, schmooze potential clients, and create more "entertaining videos." Oh, well.
Anyways ... to try and answer your question about which world type ... I think that is more of a preference thing and what you're trying to actually build. If it's a real world location then consider the actual landscaping. You should probably start with a custom flat world and do all the landscaping yourself. Maybe use a world paint program to utilize an actual height map. What city are you tying to build? Is it going to be for survival? Creative only? Are you using or making your own schematics?
Personally, I would leave some room to dig too, because you'll probably want things like sewer systems, subways, and like you said, "canals." Knowing how deep you wanna go will help a lot. Perhaps a superflat isn't the way to go. Up to you. I build all of my houses in one empty flat world ... but I also turn those houses into schematics to be used in other worlds ...
It might be easier on you to start with a superflat world type especially if you're new to all of this. It might help you to experiment with things before you do the actual city. Or to create schematics. Starting with a "regular" default world type might save a lot of time if you're just making everything up as you go, and not trying to actually create a city from real life, and playing in survival mode.
Height would also probably be user preference. You should definitely consider the height of your buildings or skyscrapers. If the tallest object is going to be around 60 blocks high, then make sure you have enough room above your head to do that. Height can also certainly effect things like weather. So if you want your swimming pools to always be frozen then make sure you're building at higher levels. This might also help you choose which version of Minecraft to play.
World height obviously changed in 1.18, and that sounds like fun, but it's too new for me, and they're still regularly updating it. So I still use 1.12.2 and 1.16.5. I really only really use 1.12.2 because of the sheer amount of mods I get to choose from. Which can be good for city building. Car, trains, and planes ... oh, my! =-)
For resource packs ... if Alpine were to ever respond to you ... he would recommend the modern city resource pack he always recommends. I don't remember what it is called but I think it's on his website or whatever. There's probably a link to it somewhere.
I don't use it. I actually don't really use any major resource packs because, again, I also heavily mod my worlds. It's another preference thing.
Hope that all helps! =D
Do a challenge video where you build a small town without mods, texture packs, shaders and world edit
Next up : real soldiers play counter strike
I want to build a city but I always give up at planning it, I cant do that. I can make build modern buildings/houses etc... Just struggle to plan/make the actual city and roads
I’ve got a new city building series coming soon 👀 stay tuned
I wanna try doing one with the create mod so the elevators will be functional, and I can use encased fans and pipes for the HVAC.
Thanks for this cause I actually learned some new ideas to make my survival house looks better but what the hell is this 4:30
It's a park in the city.
Basically it's a sign that is made of blocks scattered over the z axis so when you stand in a certain spot it makes the name show up
Hey sorry if this is too like personal but do you live in Ottawa, Canada? It seems like theres many clips of Ottawa in your videos, so I was just wondering. (Not to mention the location of the video that UA-cam has is Ottawa a few times lol)
I do!
@@Alpine1 ehh welcome to the most boring city (in my opinion) in southern Ontario!
How do you not have more subs and viewers? Either way, you just got +1
Thanks for the support! :)
How does the elevator work? And what kind of blocks did you use for the HVAC?
@Argentinian.Grandpa.2021 thanks
What shader do you use
Is there any pack like cubed for Pocket edition
And those apartment units now rent for $3500 by Dow's Lake :P
nice projects homie
May I ask you some questions about your modules? I am also a person who likes to build modern buildings.
what mods do you use?
I have never hear a "solar panels" being called Photovoltaics, but instead as Solar cells
Are you going to build the Parliment?
what was used to get the solar panel look?
What texture pack is this? and very beautiful builds!
Love the voice, love the shaders, love the building style and tutorial. Hate the black 'cuts' in some scenes. Makes my eyes hurt enough for me to comment this.
Thanks for the feedback, I’ve gotten a couple comments about the cuts so I’ll change it in my next video 😁
i was actually waiting for Engineering part where he talked about how will a certain block arangement will support the whole building so that it will not fall 😂😂😂
How do you copy and paste structures in minecraft?
Just you are perfect
How did you copy and paste that, and how did you flip it?
if i may tell you something
i dont need much no high living standard i dont even heat my apartment
but what is the worst for me is windowns only facing one side and no window in the kitchen if its an semi open kitchen like here the kitchen part should be closer to the windows
and evenen if my apartment had airconsition i wouldnt use it just as bad as heater air
but a question
is it true that zoning in amarika and even canada prevents companys from building multy unit houses outside of city centers in most cases
I am not talking about sky scrapers but 3 to 6 flor apartment buildings
Wich by the way are verry comon in europe even in small towns and villages
Ah you just built the 53 year old apartment I live in.
Hi I just wanted to tell you that I love your videos and I have a suggestion.... I dont know if this is in andea but how can I make bus routes, stops and a hangar (realistic bus routes map). Thank you!
Sorry for asking but where's the front door?
People living in the apartment bouta get noise complaints.
What resourse / texutre pack are you using?
So what’s the name of the mod used for copy/paste, filling in areas, etc.?
World Edit
Did you just... Time laps yourself destroying the apartment then play it backwards?
I did, great catch! It’s a lot faster to film
@@Alpine1 that's genious! 😂
Whats the programm called that he uses in 1:21 ?
What is the program at 1:22 called?
What texture pack do u have
What texture pack are you using???
Where are the foundations?
I used this video to build a 3 story office building, turned out ok for my first time building something using real architecture
thats cool but can you do it in survival
What texture pack is this?
Is this in Andea?
Nice
