    Thanks for the honest, impartial review. So many reviews out there where they’ve only owned/ran the machines one or two times: yours holds much more weight. I’ve been subscribed for some time, and just watching the capabilities of your machine in your videos convinced me an RMAX was the machine for me. Keep producing great content!

    • @IslandMudSlingers

      Thanks Kyle, these Rmax's are tough but we put all these machines though the ringer and some do great and some don't but that's just the way things go sometimes. More videos to come soon !

    Just took my new 2022 RMAX 4 Limited Edition thru its paces this week. What an amazing machine. I watch your videos and told my wife I will never do anything that extreme, but soon found out it is addicting. I took my RMAX places I didn't think it would go.Thanks for your videos.

    great videos I'm glad I came crossed your channel!!! I am looking at buying a Rmax and from everything I have seen they are awesome machines I have herd from a lot of people they are extremely loud in the cab when ridding to the point its hard to talk etc... is this an exaggeration have you noticed this just wondering what you think I don't wear a helmet when I ride currently I am running a 2015 can am commander 1000 so I am wondering how the max is in comparison

    • @IslandMudSlingers
      @IslandMudSlingers  6 місяців тому

      Thanks ! Also I always ride with a helmet and have a aftermarket exhaust so its louder then normal but id say the Rmax is just above average for in cab noise. To mew it was never an issue.

    Good review mate. I just watched this so my comments are a bit late. Heim joints, that was hilarious. I spent many years working on helicopters so the loose joint thing shouldn't really happen that fast, they are using junk IMO. I will say to keep yourself safe use a washer on the bolt that is bigger diameter that the joints ball so that when they fail completely it doesn't come off. It's an aviation thing.

    Hey man! First of all, let me start by saying you did a great job explaining every aspect of all the problems, additions, and solutions you have dealt with on the machine!!!!! I remember hearing about your transmission issue. Only positive feedback at a time you could have bashed Yamaha and made another purchase. Secondly, the lighting is much better. You could not have picked a more beautiful background to do this video on. You picked a great kit for use of the sxs world. I subscribed to your channel a while ago because you seem very down to earth and take time to interact with the viewers. Keep up the good work and keep having fun doing it! Take care. Your friend, 10 grand Rick!👍

      Thanks Rick ! I really try and just be flat out honest, in my mind there's no point in me lying about any off it. If something is a junk product then sadly it just is and if something is a great product then I will say so. Obviously its my opinion but I do thoroughly test them before giving a review. But thanks again ! its very warming hearing this feed back and really show me that people do enjoy this type of content.

    Thank You for the Great Video. I have the same machine but the 4 seat unit. I don't think you have but have you done anything with the drain plug underneath your machine for your engine intake, I have heard of machines where it falls off and you suck in muddy water. Also have you done anything with your factory vent lines, more so the fuel vent and reardiff Thanks

    • @IslandMudSlingers
      @IslandMudSlingers  2 роки тому

      Hey James ! And I haven't done a thing to any vents but keep my eyes on them when I do a inspection. I haven't had a single issue yet with water in diffs, cvt or engine intake.

    Definitely enjoy your video, straight and to the point. I am new to Yamaha, just got my Rmax xtr a month ago. I can see adding some accessories based on your reviews. Being that you have worked on many machines, what oil do you recommend using? My dealer didn't have any Yamalube in stock so they said to use Ams Oil. I have been reading about the engine warranty if you use Yamalube, wandering if it would be better to stick with the manufacturers oil? Thanks

    Nice video, great information. We bought an Rmax last summer but only went on one trail ride because I was working too much. That will be different this year. I did use it all winter to plow snow and it was awesome for that. I purchased it for the sport utility design. Nothing else like it. Plus ,as you said, the front diff lock and the 10 year belt warranty. From the factory it is about perfect for where we ride and for working around the property. I added front and rear bumpers, half windshield, rear storage box, lighted side view mirrors and various other lights around the unit. And the snow plow. There is a void under the drivers seat that is meant for an auxiliary battery. I want to use it for storage. I am trying to come up with something that will work. If you know of anything?

      @IslandMudSlingers  2 роки тому

      Thanks and yes the Rmax is a wicked machine one of the most capable machines of the lot. I'm not to sure what to put down there. I would say to build a box to fit there. Depending if you play in water as well you will have to make it water proof.

    I've been subscribed for awhile now and appreciate your honesty in this review. It means more coming from someone who rides hard in many terrains. I nearly bought the RMAX but ultimately went with a Polaris General mainly because it was the first year for this all new bike from Yamaha and problems can be expected.to surface. I'll be keeping an eye on how these hold up.

    • @jimh.412
      @jimh.412 2 роки тому +1

      I have it. Great machine but a little underpowered in my opinion but I guess they do that to make them more reliable. My brother and I have a 21 and 22 Wolverine X2's. The only problem we've had is there is a strange ticking sound that happens only between 30-40 mph and nobody knows what it is. It doesn't cause any problems for now. I know from reading the forums that Yamaha is supposedly looking into it. I believe the R-max has it too.I don't know if it's all of them or just some machines that have it. 🤷I wouldn't let that scare you away at all. If there's a major problem I'm sure Yamaha will make it right. Otherwise smoothest running machine I've ever had. Came from a Yamaha Rhino and a Suzuki King Quad before I got the X2. The power steering is the best in the business. I use it for light work, plowing snow, and trail riding. It's not going to win any speed contests but I know I'll make it home after every ride. I plan on adding a clutch kit and a Weller flash that will supposedly get me up to 60-65 mph from 55mph so that should help a lot.

    My question is what’s the biggest difference you have noticed between the Carnivore’s vs xtr370’s?

    • @IslandMudSlingers
      @IslandMudSlingers  2 роки тому +1

      When I had the carnivores on i noticed the side wall was very soft and when crawling up steep hill I noticed they would kind of give out. Hard to explain but they didn't feel sturdy enough for my riding style. I wanted a tire that could flex but not as much as the carnivore. Hopefully this sums it up for you.
