Hey Mike, long time viewer from Saudi, love your content. The thing with S65 vehicles is that the TCU limits the engine output to protect the transmission. If you tune both ECU and TCU you will see gains of over 100 rwhp and 100 rwtq EASILY!! Best of luck man beautiful car EDIT: Eurocharged for example does ECU and TCU tunes for AMG vehicles, not sure who else does it from the tuning companies but Eurocharged for sure.
Hi Mike, about drivetrain losses, its not a percentage. So if you gained 30whp it doesn’t mean you gained 60 crankhp. Drivetrain losses is a fixed number, gaining more power to the wheels doesn’t mean you lose more power in the drivetrain. You made 533whp so it means you have around 90hp loss in the drivetrain for the specific gear what means now with 554whp you making around 645crankhp. I have a tuning company in the EU and here we measure crankhp by putting the car in neutral when coasting down so that the dyno can measure the losses in the drivetrain so no guestimate, its pretty accurate. The tuning can be done much better on your car, a stage 1 should atleast add 50hp. Anyway beautiful car and great vids, keep it up!
Yep. Was going to say this. The tune has to break in too. When you get the exhaust done and do another before and after I bet you find another 40 hp plus in her. She sure is purdy. I have a 15 E400 coupe 4mattic and love it. A tune is coming. Lol. Respect brudda.
This is what dodgy tuners tell customers that ain't happy 🤣 pretty sure this has CPC torque monitoring so no matter who tunes it unless you replace CPC you limited
@therivalryan Maybe dodgy tuners have fed you some BS but I'm a Mercedes-Benz master tech. Mixture adaptation takes time to happen with any change or reset in ME software or even engine replacement. As the mixture adaptation optimizes, so does the power delivery
@@d_63vern29 You won't see any real difference in power from this, you should know if your a master tech.. Maybe if you had issues like air leak etc. though this is completely different. The car might be a bit smoother but you aren't going to see or feel a big difference from this.. that's not what its for. Also if your a tech you'll know you can reset mixture adaption on xentry, HFM drift compensation etc etc.though again it's not needed here, same parts still fitted in car maf etc etc. if you understand how a tune works then you would know this..
@therivalryan Yeah, okay Mr. etc, etc, etc. Sounds like you're just trying to sound knowledgeable about something you know very little bit about. Make some more edits to your comment after you google search again...cheers
Do not underestimate that amg v12. That motor is capable of 900hp+ if you know the brabus s900 rocket edition, you will understand what I’m referring to 😎 that car has so much potential @autovlog
Did you get any exhaust mods done? I'm thinking of doing the same on my CLS63, but I don't want to ruin the sweet OEM sound, I just want to amplify it.
Im guessing 520 to the wheels. Maybe little less. Still big numbers stock. Sound sick man i cant wait to hear it with the new exhaust set up. You always bring something LOUD!

TPG Tuning is on Pontiac Ct in Export, PA. It was named Pontiac Ct because of Fisher Pontiac who was at that location for many years. My dad bought a 64 Pontiac that I totaled in 65 from them. Brings back great memories.
Mike, I up your way on a vacation in waynesberg ,pa staying at my wife aunt's house. And it's my wife's birthday today. She still younger than me..... Replay back if you get to see this . The tune works!
Have been watching you a while and just realized you are also in Pittsburgh! Great car scene here. Would love to run in to this beast one of these days. Love your enthusiasm!
I’ve been there before. Well next door. There is a tint shop right there. Had a car done there a few years ago and watched an E36 get run on the dyno. Pretty cool
Distinct Auto does great work! They are the best in the area in my opinion. They moved to a bigger building in the complex when you enter now. They used to be next to TPG.
New upgraded filters, royal purple oil or amsoil, and 94 octane fuel will give you another 15-20HP at mid-to-high rpm above the ECU tune and TCU to unlock more power thats limited from factory. I believe Renntech has transmission upgrades (722). S65 is beautiful, perfect summer daily, winters would be better with an S63 (4matic), or one of your trucks 😂
ay man i just started watching but i cant stop, youre amazing man. and a great father. i wish i had a role model like you!! keep pumping out these videos
TPG Tuning and Distinct Automotive (both out in Export, PA on the same street) are both awesome. Distinct did the ceramic coating on my Raptor and it turned out great and was very reasonable!!
Great vid 😀 I guess reductions in transmission losses are where manufactures have been picking up fuel savings over the last few years. Over 80% of the power and torque getting to the wheels on an rwd automatic is pretty high compared to years ago. That improves performance and throttle response too, and, I guess, even handling in a well set up car. Fun times, thanks for sharing!
I dont think there is any big improvement in transmission losses since the 90's for the same type of transmission. What they have done is to have more gears.
@@martinsvensson6884 right, yeah. So, as far back as that then, I know that before that it was low 70s for a rwd manual, and I always suspected even worse for an automatic. At some point it started to improve. Obviously more gears help with economy and acceleration etc,, and lock up torque converters help with efficiency too, but I wasn’t sure when these transmission loss improvements came in. @@paulcruse When I started reading swedish car mags in the 90's it was always stated approx 10-15% loss for a manual and 20% for an auto. Could of course vary much more. But that was total loss. Gearbox is just part of that. So I dont think improvements in the gearboxes the last 30 years has given any really big improvements. That would be in the single digit % in that case. @@martinsvensson6884 Cool. I remember that a 70s manual Ford Capri in Europe had 72% of its power getting to the back wheels, so I guess it was somewhere between then and the 90s that these gains were made.
