Shinjuku Station, to me, is the craziest. If you take the wrong exit, you're two full city blocks from where you want to be, and there's no direct way to get from that exit to where you're trying to go. So, you can either take a hike around on the surface streets, or work your way back through the station to the other side. Like, I'm pretty sure we once left by the West Gate when we needed to leave by the New South Gate, but had gotten totally turned around inside the station.

@トラッスいたMask pretty much, you literally will spend 10000 yen just to drink water but I don't remember for sure but think they had a 2 drink minimum as well so probably at least 14000 yen for 2 people

The two Yakuza Jaiden put at the beginning of the video are meant to look like two of the main villains from the anime My Hero Academia, the guy with the black hair and purple scars is Dabi and the guy with the blue hair and hand on his face is Tomura Shigaraki, aka the main villain
I can see you flinch whenever Jaiden says "Asian" like in "...a sea of Asians" or in "an Asian kid at the arcade." Don't worry, she's Japanese-American. 😬
My experience with people in the train stations was that, once someone understood that I needed something, they wouldn't stop helping, even at the point where I think we both understood that the language issue made that help impossible.
Great reaction video! About the Yakuza, I wouldn't really be worried about them if I ever visited Japan. Personally, I'm more scared of anyone still in the オウム真理教 cult than the Yakuza. Lol
When I went to Japan for two weeks in 2019, I had a blast. Getting around was easy because the ios maps app gave us all the info we needed for trains and buses to take and what times they would be arriving. We'd lose signal once we were actually underground in the subway stations but we just had to follow the list of directions to wherever we needed to go and would get signal back pretty quickly. I'm glad I was able to go see the robot show but we were also warned that the food was both... not great and very expensive so we ate beforehand and had a blast. The show is like a love letter and satire to the bits of japanese culture that have made it out to the West- very outrageous and over the top, but entertaining and funny as hell to those of us with experience of Japanese media before visiting the country. Sad to see it close down, but hopefully not for good?
Just informing, the Japanese “mafia” Jaiden refers to are two villains from an anime called “Boku No Hero Academia”. The one on the left is named “Shigaraki” and right is named “Dabi”.
I was in Japan in Spring of last year, the first thing I did was before I left the US I downloaded 3 train/subway apps they helped a lot, from Hiroshima, Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo
2:16 Those are two characters from ‘my hero academia’ which is an anime, those two characters are part of the L.O.V (league of villains) the one on the right is called ‘dabi’ or ‘Touya Todoroki’ (everyone calls him dabi because he went to the L.O.V) and the other is shigaraki and he can like disintegrate people from touching them with all 5 fingers or looking at them (I think) so yeah :)
We miss Japan so much. My Wife and i went for our honeymoon 2 years ago the first time and we loved it. we never had problems in stores or restaurants cause everything was also written in english. with a train app we also never took the wrong train. we visited tokyo, osaka and kyoto. we are just waiting to come again. be strong japan and greetings from switzerland
If I had to guess. The reason she knows so much Japanese is because she is in fact a Japanese American or Canadian. From simple deduction of what she said like " They lost there father in the sea of Asians" Means ummmm her father is Asian (probably Japanese). A family interested in there heritage including there parents implies she probably 3rd generation Japanese American or Canadian meaning her grand parents probably speak Japanese fluently as well as anyone from Japan and the grand kids know enough to understand and get by.
2:32 Sorry if anyone has already said this (probably have, haven’t checked), but those two characters are from an anime. She’s just referencing them, Dabi and Tomura Shigaraki from My Hero Academia/Boku No Hero Academia 7:39 Also, that’s just the first original Pokemon theme tune being played very high on the flute. Sorry if you’re eardrums are burst from that attack and I sound like a weeaboo here
I'm barely 1 minute or so into your video, and I had to pause it because I noticed you picked the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kira opening song for your animation example, and I had to go listen to it immediately. Which made my day happier! So thank you for that, I'm going to enjoy the rest now!
I visited Osaka, Himeji, and Kyoto. I speak no Japanese (a few keywords only). I had no problem with the maps. Yes, they are large and complicated, but that is because the train system is so massive. The only time I had to ask for help (regarding train travel) was at Kansai. It is a small station and the map was in Japanese only. Some railroad employee cheerfully helped me out. When asking for directions while walking around, everybody was very helpful and polite even if they did not speak much English. Sometimes they even walked to the place I was going to in spite of my assuring them it was not necessary. I remember a single case when I approached a young lady to ask for directions (with a "sumimasen") and she walked away as if she was scared of me. There was an ambiguous case: waiting at a bank, the clerks call me by name to complete a transaction. They did it as " sama." I know it's an overly polite and formal way of addressing someone. I'm not sure if that's common practice in banks or if they were making fun of the Gaijin. Maybe some Asagi or some other Japanese person can tell me. In any case, I had a great time during my stay.
The guy with blue hair and a hand on his face , is from an anime called My hero Academia , and that character was named shigaraki, and he is a villain in the anime series.

That phone app that translates what you see in Japanese into English (I think it's a google app)TOTALLY works. I was in Japan in February before the pandemic and it worked just fine. It's not perfect but it gives you an idea of what's written.
Fun fact whenever she said the Japanese mafia those were anime characters from the anime my hero academia she was referencing two villains from the show
There are quite a few little channels that do these basic animations and they all look pretty good I would like to see what they could do with bigger budgets or just better programs
Hey Asagi! Jaiden’s reference of the Yakuza was actually two villain characters from a Japanese(?) anime, called My Hero Academia, or just MHA for short.
Hi asagi!!! I really like your videos and your personality! I want to visit or live in Japan one day. I have to learn Japanese lol. thank you keep up the videos (:
Jaiden's videos are quite good and I very much enjoy them, but about your question of how professional she is...it's hard to say without getting more info from her directly but she's actually not the most qualified animator on UA-cam. See she actually dropped out of school when her UA-cam career started doing so well so she doesn't have a complete professional education and just learned a lot from looking up how to animate on the internet and working with other animators online. Not sure if the work she's done would be considered enough experience to be professional or not, and the thing that makes me more unsure is that she has a whole team that work on these videos (those people at 14:24). But between the quality of the animations her team members have worked on for other channels and projects, the quality of her videos before they joined her, and the fact that she's admitted that the more elaborate parts of some of her animations were done by some of them, I think it's safe to say this video turned out this good because it was a group effort.
Speaking of the trains and buses, I did not get a smart phone until 2011, meaning 16 years of my adult life was spent with a backpack full of bus schedules even though for about six years I had flip phones capable of browsing in an emergency. It worked in Nassau County, New York, not as much in Suffolk County because of how much more spread out everything was, and finally when I moved to Orlando I just got the schedule books every year. Now, it's one website, plus an app that tells you if the bus is late, plus one that has your bus pass on it, plus Google Maps will come up with what it thinks is the best route only for me to know better sometimes... but yeah, things are a lot easier now than they were.
I went to Japan with my dad back in 2012, so 4 years before she did. No joke, the best 3 weeks of my life. We went to so many places, including the Ghibli museum, Tetsuka museum, several theme parks including Mt. Fuji Q, Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea and even just walking around Akihabara was so much fun. The only real negative was 1 day when a monsoon hit the area we were in, so we had to cut our day's plans short and hop on the bullet train to get to Tokyo, but we got delayed so long that, instead of getting there at 6pm, we ended up arriving after 11:30pm. Other than that though, it was an enormous amount of fun and I loved immersing myself in the culture. 1 odd thing happened though. While looking for the Suginami Museum, we were passing through a neighbourhood I had the weirdest feeling I'd been through before, which made no sense since it was shortly into our trip, so we hadn't been in any similar areas before that day and that trip was literally the first time I'd ever been outside my home country of Australia. But, it got weirder. As we reached an intersection in the street, I immediately had a simultaneously vivid and vague memory of being a child running through that specific intersection and being really happy when I'd been running. Again, this trip was the first time in my entire life I'd been outside Australia, so I was completely baffled as to where this memory came from. It was vivid in that I could clearly remember beind a child running in that area and the happy feelings I'd had at the time, but nothing else stood out in the memory. I couldn't tell how old I was in the memory, my name, why I'd been so happy, nothing. To this day, I still have no clue where that memory came from. My only possible guesses are I was either regaining a fragment of memory from a past life in which I'd lived in that area of Japan or a ghost had shared its memory with me. Either way, it's 1 souvenir from our trip I'd have never expected to return with. Do hope I'll be returning to Japan either later this year or sometime next year.
Dang I can't wait for my first visit to Japan. I want Japan to be the first place I go to for my first time leaving America! I'm also trying to learn Japanese and things that are important to know before going to Japan from my Japanese buddy who lives in America and grew up here, but has family in Japan! so he visits a lot! And I'm able to learn alot from him and his mom! They teach me great things and Iove the heck outta them. I just can't wait to visit for myself!
Asagi, when i first watch your video it was a random recommendation by UA-cam, but now theyve been recommending me your channel more that I even subscribed and found it pretty interesting. Keep up the good work!
They should have said while asking the Japanese people at the station the written Japanese characters together with Eigo de nan desu ka. Just say 'Wakarimasen' if they reply in Japanese instead of English. Say 'Eigo de hanashite kudasai' after. I forgot mostly of what I learned from my Nihonggo class. But I still remember the pun I used to say after class 'Bento shimasu!' because I thought of eating dinner while doing the studying.
Jaiden is in fact of partial Japanese ancestry but they've fully been westernized after several generations away from Japan ( I think Jaiden is at least third generation at this point). She does do this full time.
That;s some pretty good animation. It sounds like a typical American vacation abroad, in which we completely embarrass ourselves. Oh, that WORD on your sweater--hmmm...
11hs flying .... "that's long".... took me 32h to get to Japan and I was sick, experience the worst turbulence in my life, almost lost my flight for Narita in Beijin (and the chineses were not helpful at all). But the good side is that I never, ever, ever got lost using the subway in Japan and it was the best trip ever and the Japanese were awasome! Even got stop on the street and welcomed in the country. I really want to comeback

2:15 These are Shigaraki Tomura and Dabi which are the villains in the anime My Hero Academia
You mentioned the Robot Restaurant, but the 8-floor Sega Sonic arcade in Osaka is now closed, too.
Im currently learning japanese so i know what to do when i travel one day

my hero academia fans: ;-;
Asagi, when i first watch your video it was a random recommendation by UA-cam, but now theyve been recommending me your channel more that I even subscribed and found it pretty interesting. Keep up the good work!
Thanks! Welcome to my channel 😄
She most likely went to the Studio Ghibli Museum in Mitaka !
2:15 She is making them look like two anime characters from a show called My hero academia ( idk if I spelled it right) or mha
No Lipsynch in any media of display, also known as "The german Nightmare"
I see alot of japanese reaction videos but i love it all cause i love to see people opinions on things
Hmm did he just eat the hedgehog?
Him: MMMMMM yea
Bro I love how she just has a shirt that says fuck. That's amazing
I like that you segmented your video. Also you speak English pretty well.
Love the shirt😂😂😂😂 also love that it says “fuck.”
The look on your face @2:57 😂
Thanks for making and uploading it.👍
I wonder what the name of the music in the outro is....
Your shirt is everything!!! Lmao
2:21 I just had to point out that that's shigiraki and the one on the right is dabi from a popular anime XD

Um actually its 'her' younger me🤓
11hs flying ....
Wow that's a long flight 😬 Glad to hear you enjoyed though!
@@AsagisLifeNoBSJapan yep it was. I think of I ever do that again I'll die LoL
Does she understand English or was this intentional....look at shirt "fuck" 😂I'm dying
All mha fans would recognize: shigaraki and dabi
Was not expecting the shirt
I love how only the Anime fans know who those two people were ✨
