Not a vet, but I think the big, more primal/wolf-like breeds have it easier than these "bred to be too small to give birth"-breeds. Otherwise wolves would've died out a long time ago. Problems start when people breed pugs and other breeds that are "notoriosly difficult due to their narrow pelvis" like Chris said. I adore malamutes though. I'm so jealous you got to cuddle with over 60 of those fuzzy little baby polar bears 🥺
You probably took precautions as well, the pug owner was not very smart since pugs tend to have health issues and she was a pet not a breeder and he still bred her, which was probably against the breeders contract he got her from. I know all the puppies survived, he got lucky and got her to a vet in time but people like that are why ethical breeders have bad reputations and why people think that fatality rate in puppies being born is more common than it really is. Not saying the percentage would change by a lot, but if breeding was left to the people who know how to work with puppies that are breach, have fluid in mouth/lungs, can seeing signs of labor not progressing fast enough, not to breed mom to larger males but smaller males, health test to prevent genetic diseases as much as possible, this fatality rate would improve. However, doing all the right things does not guarentee a healthy litter every time, sometimes puppies die anyways, but you would think people would do what they could to prevent it, but sadly all the puppy mills and back yard breeders and emotional breeders see is money or puppies because puppies are just so cute, not the negative possibilities of what could happen during labor.

I've been a vet tech for over 7 years now and I still remember almost all the c-sections we've done so far. Some very sad and traumatic, some very happy and wholesome. Bringing life into the world always feels a different kind of special compared to other surgeries. I worked at a big clinic for a short time and we had an emergency c-section on a Boston Terrier late in the evening. It reminded me of the story with the pug - same birthing prolems. Unfortunately, one puppy had been stuck in the birth canal for too long and didn't make it. The other 4 survived. We got everyone available in the clinic on board for the operation, a total of 3 vets, 3 vet techs and 2 vet techs in training. What a long, intimate hug this woman gave him
This was stressful to watch 3 dog's having puppies... I'm sure my blood pressure went up! Mom's & sweethearts are doing well (& so are staff's) 🐾👍🐾👍🐾💫👍😉
I love animals. And I love dogs with all my heart.I consider them a miracle of nature. Many thanks to veterinarians for treating and saving our pets.
What they do with newborn lambs is to hold them with their heads hanging down and swing them a few times this helps the mucus to come out plus it stimulates them it is worth trying it with newborn puppies/kittens ( I used to help the local vet at lambing times when I lived in Scotland I now live in Australia ) Alex and Gerardo you both did an excellent job it is hard when you lose a newborn puppy but you both tried xx I hope you don't think of me as being interferent xx Greta was awesome xx
I've seen puppies gone that way too.
Poor 10th puppy could have made a family much happier and the pup could have lived a happy life but is still amazing for fighting so long
My cat escaped from home when i was seven but you channel helps me learn about pets and i may get another cat soon :)
Well done Greta!!! You have 11 beautiful Grandpuppies.
Happy Birthday Dr. Chris. You are my Favorite vet Doctor. Wishing for you a lot of blessings. I am always watching you and the other magnificent doctors. Watching from the
philipines.
Totally feel the same!! From Wyoming, USA 🐾😉👍
Thank You Bondi Vet People For All Your Interesting Videos. These Pets Are So Adorable.
I'm sorry, but pugs shouldn't be bred to continue. They have SO many health/breathing issues, poor things
Agreed. And they bred her at 15 months?? That feels way too young.
@@UnrealKinniki it is way to young dogs shouldn’t be breed till at least 3 years of age or they can have serious problems and possibly all their pups and the dog could die.
These aren’t pugs. They are terriers.
Agreed
No they're bred deserves to live
Doctor with those pups you are thre miracle! Never feel bad!
Betty is so cute. I’ve had 2 Scotties before. I’ve realized I’m not a terrier-terror dog owner.
We need vets like this in the world
Omgosh I held my breath hoping ..n poof a breath amazing job.
New life especially baby animals will always put a smile on anyone's face.
Ahhhhh those little puppy squeaks!
Great show, guys. And a big, big Kudos to all the new Mom's. I'm so sorry for the loss of Grettas owners mom passing. Maybe the one pup that passed got a special escort to heaven by grettas owners mom who passed also. God is amazing!! Great job to all the staff!!
Rip to that one little girl puppy that passed away. Even one loss is a devastation and I feel for Marie and her family. I send my love to that puppy in the sky.
That puppy is playing with my sweet nate
This is a wonderful show. I think enlisting a vet is the best way to get a positive outcome. Especially, as the breed is vulnerable due to reduced numbers. Hello from Canada
Happy Birthday Chris!🥳

Congratulations to all these dog mums
Omg, it's 6:54 am and y'all got me tearing up cuz a puppy didn't breathe right away....uugh. Good job Betty, and Mom!😥😳👏👏👏👍🎉🥂🎊
Miss Betty was “at it” before I finished my tea... got me🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💕
My Labrador delivered 16 puppies. 15 survived and one was a still birth, (the last one) her litter was beautiful and healthy, but we had to bottle feed a few because the mother wasn’t putting out enough milk. She also had to get calcium supplements to keep up with her milk production.
Wow! So full of info! Thankyou, I delivered babies but not pups, about to breed our little Cleo ( toy poodle) she's very maternal & a most beautiful therapy dog for my little boy who is terminally ill. She will be mated in the next 10 days. This has given me so much valuable insight - huge appreciation!
My condolences to Marie on t passing of her mum and 1 pup
This is one of my favourite videos
The little puppy is a fighter just like her mother
How many big litters of golden retrivers, dalmatians and great danes survive to after being born and towards adulthood?
Last year my Pittie mix had her first bundle of puppies, she had 1 of them, all born healthy. She did an amazing job delivering them
🐼 Big Bear Hugs from a 67 yr old grandma in Kirby, Texas, USA 🐼 🖤🖤🖤....

We meat again! 😊 This was the most stressful yet... glad the three dog's we're okay. Glad parents ok, glad staff ok (they were holding their breaths too)
