Rukmini informs Disha that she has accomplished the task. Nikhil decides to go to Shyama’s house, much to Sujata’s dismay. Shyama tells her family about Nikhil’s phobia of darkness. Disha is staying in a hotel, and Rukmini comes to meet her. Krishnacharan, Kanai and the villagers bring Nikhil to Shyama’s house. Basanta scolds Sujata for her behaviour and refuses to eat. Shyama offers non-vegetarian food to Nikhil for dinner. She then sleeps on the floor, making Nikhil sleep on the bed.

The protagonist of the tale is a dark-skinned girl named Shyama, who aims to eradicate the shame associated with color. She marries Nikhil and experiences prejudice because of her skin tone. She embarks on a quest to forge her own identity as a gifted vocalist. Shyama thinks her skin tone is similar to Lord Krishna's. Following her marriage, she pursues a career in music, which completely transforms her life. Although Shyama's mother-in-law despises her, over the course of a few years, she grows to love her and even lets her sing.
