  • “Not for the first time in the past 100 years do the West’s better educated classes, especially the young, show themselves to be useful idiots in the cause of evil.”

I am 80 yrs old and remember my father,s story when the IRA (ireland's Hezbollah ) Kidnapped a high ranking RAF commanding officer. A message was relayed to the IRA that if the CO was not returned unharmed . The entire IRA housing estate stronghold would be carpet bombed out of existence . A taxi pulled up a short while later and the CO walked calmly back into the military base . END OF. Some people never learn . Too many do gooders in positions of power .

And just like England were occupying Ireland and stealing their land, Israel occupies Palestine.
When Ireland/Palestine retaliate, you act surprised and play the victim.
      It's a sick joke.

The political leaders of Hamas, who live in Qatar, have billions. Gaza should be a thriving area but it suits Hamas to have them poor and needy to stoke resentment. Hamas political leaders in Qatar have their children in private schools in Europe.
They have ample funds for health care for the muslims in Gaza, stop using poor muslims as expendible living in poverty.

@davidelliott5843 I cannot agree with this, Hamas takes a slice of everything ordinary Gazans purchase. Parts for cars, lorries, carts, building materials. Occasionally you will see Gazans raging at their corrupt leaders. Bitter at being denied aid. Hamas had vast quantities of oil for cooking and heating in the tunnels, they did not distribute it to their own poor. Hamas controls everything, schools, clinics, hospitals, all supplies. For decades they have broken the Geneva convention and put missiles and explosives in and under schools and hospitals.
This is all documented from verifiable sources. A muslin working in Israel has greater freedom than one working in Gaza.

7:28, and the Israeli spokesperson, uses a number of connecting phrases. The war aim is victory, never again can any threat arise from Gaza, there is only one Jewish State. All this in response to Andrew's question as to whether the government of Israel reflects on "international opinion" (that is what the global population thinks and feels about what is currently taking place. The spokesperson's answer is clear, Israel will proceed irrespective of what the wider global population thinks and feels. This very much an echo of Andrew's "useful idiots" disparagement. We in the wider world, do not matter.

What Adam has to say, has to be heard with empathy and respect. However, every atrocity and loss and sorrow and horror, that Adam can and must speak to, finds its parallel echo in myriad narratives that Palestinians also can and must offer. This is where Andrew should come under most criticism, as a journalist, as a human being. he listens to and platforms only those he favours. Any others are, like all the useful idiots, of no consequence for Andrew and his reporting.

All in all, Andrew presents a perspective in which ongoing violence which will impact most on civilian populations, is inevitable. Not in the sense that he is predicting this process, but more in the sense that his perspective offers complete justification for seeing it continue. Noteworthy then that not one word was said by Andrew or his contributors, as to this matter of wholesale civilian suffering across multiple societies. And those who are minded or moved to speak about this lacuna, are to be silenced as useful idiots.

You conveniently forgot to mention stolen land and the years of oppression of the Palestinian people. Things were always going to snap as they periodically do. If I'm an idiot of use then, so be it, I prefer to make my own mind up on matters like this and your one sided, blinkered victim approach is doing you no favours when you look at the history of the land.

Sure signs of useful idiocy when you say "Stolen land". The land was never stolen. If the Arabs had accepted the right of the Jews to even a tiny sliver of land as recommended by the UN in 1948 none of this would have happened. But don't let useful lies get in the way of your mantra..

i really dont understand how you can create a SAFE place for jews if you are surrounded by enemies. That sounds kind of sociopathic and insane. First surely you should befriend the neighbours and get them on SIDE FIRST? Create a treaty first? Build up the land together with Palestinians and Jordans etc? before creating an independent state right in the MIDDLE of hostile country's?

In 1948 the areas that were assigned to Israel were small and not even connected, merely separate islands. Anyway Israel accepted this solution and declared the state of Israel, only to be immediately attacked by its neighbors.

Hmm...Jews started returning in mass numbers to the land of Israel in the late 19th century because thats their only homeland. In fact, the ONLY nation state that ever existed there was the Kingdom of Israel. And yes, Muslems have a problem with ANY non Islamic entity. That's the reason for the Hebron massacre (1929) long before Israel was established, thats why they opposed the UN desicion to establish two states on Nov 29 1947, thats why King Abdullah of Jordan was assasinated in 1951 for wanting peace with Israel, thats why Sadat of Egypt was assasinated in 1980, and thats why Arafat walked away from the peace talks in 2000. More then they want a 23rd Arab state, they want NO Jewish state.

Filling in up to three minutes, Andrew confidently speaks about Hamas as the only agent bringing about what the region now faces. In truth Andrew has no special knowledge as to how and why the events of the 7th came about. He has not been privy to the councils of Hamas or Israel, or any other entity. Further, Andrew cannot knowledgably speak to how things are going to play out, in either the short or the long term. All Andrew is saying, is that Israel can do more regional violence than any other regional player, because better resourced (and that by far). Bottom line as to the long term, the global constituency of "useful idiots" is heading towards becoming a massive majority regards judgement of this regional circumstance.

By 1:41, the always crude Andrew, ramping up his rhetoric to characterise the better educated and young, as simply useful idiots, if they dare to voice views differing from his own. Jumping ahead, this cognitive violence by Andrew, always likely to see him supporting military violence on the ground. When we cannot discuss and debate across differing views, we are lubricating the gears of what becomes violence in human affairs.

Nonsense from Andrew by 1:27. Not only is his opinion to be taken as superior to the judgement of all those calling for an end to the wholesale violence, he has to term this as support for Palestinians, and cannot resist suggesting this support is metamorphosing into support for Hamas.

    • @just_the_messenger
      @just_the_messenger 23 години тому +1

It isn't "metamorphosing" into support for Hamas. It has been support for Hamas since day 1. You just gonna act like we haven't all seen the pro-Hamas protesters in the west? Video after video of "Death to Israel! Death to America!"
If these terrorist lovers want an end to the "wholesale" violence, they should stop cheering every time Iran or it's proxies shoot missiles into Israel, but they don't. They love the violence and death, it's their excuse to keep hating Jews and America.
