I look for quality over quantity, but having a great EPK is absolutely vital. If a person is not organized with their press kits, they are generally messy elsewhere. Also, having a good manager is a plus. I have dropped artists who have flaky management. If I go to book a circuit, I need to know that this manager is going to be helpful and open to new ideas. If they don't know what they are doing, it makes hard work ten times more difficult and just really isn't worth the hassle. They can find another agent. Another thing I need is good communication. I need to know everything about the artist. What is his or her goals? Status of career? Draw? Motivation? Willingness to accept feedback? Personality? As an agent, I can't onboard just anyone. There's exclusivity there. My name is attached to the artist. I can't willingly risk my career for someone who might have a couple of ambitions but lacks motivation. Booking agents have to consider the viability and the reliability of the artist. There is a level of trust there that needs to be priority. Anyway, hope you were successful in your journey.
My friends got into some big booking agency by buying fake followers/likes, paying ghost producers in order to release a lot & PR company to interview them regularly, when me working hard on producing & releasing my own original tracks, sometimes this upsets me so much, they encourages me to do the same but I didn't, seems nowadays I'm the stupid one...booking agency only gives you attention when you create a buzz, nobody cares about real or fake anymore. Or another way is, make connections all the time, once you know the right person who likes you, then things happen. Btw, we are female DJs.

This video is very informative and helpful BUT in my case, I work for other artists for years and also my music is complex (I will share a link ) I have the band (top musicians from San Francisco Bay Area) but not the fan base. Where do I get someone (that I know I have to pay for) that can 1 book shows (booking agent) and 2 a promoter or marketing agency for musicians so I can focus on the music?
Totally makes no sense at all why do you think we need a booking agent so they can book gigs for us so how do we have a show if we have never done a gig. If we were getting lots of gigs why do we need a booking agent . You say if you have only done 10 gigs get a ton of gigs if this if this is the case why do I need a booking agent if I can get them without them absolute waste of time this video
Hey Rick, there's different strategies to take. Sounds like you don't need a booking agent. Most people that want scale their career beyond the local pub and into big theatres and stadiums then you'll need to get a booking agent for this.
I definitely agree because sometimes depending on where you live Sometimes some places won't take you serious but thanks to my music agent he's done a great job with helping me getting my foot in the door at more places
