Thank you for this. Currently taking knitting lessons at the art league. We are doing socks. I worked one toe in class but when I got home and started the second sock toe the instructions went over my head. Lol. I appreciate the video greatly.

Really good video explaining this cast-on. I can't remember when I first saw Judy's Magic Cast-on but I used it on the second pair of toe-up socks I ever knitted and that has been a few years. I use this cast-on for every pair of socks I knit now.

I have seen this done before but could never get it figured out. This is the first time my brain actually got it. Thank you. I am dyslexic and sometimes my brain just doesn’t grasp things. But now I know where to come to get this started right. Saving to my favorites.

Very cool, makes me want to start knitting again! I've been Crocheting for several years now and put knitting on the back burner.. Always wanted to knit socks but have difficult time using DPN so I never have. Thanks Marly for your detailed and SLOW instructions. Great pace and camera work.

Could be for a tubular scarf too 😁
When casting on if you go between the top needle and wrap your stitches the front leg of the stitches are in correct working position. I dont remember where i learned this it maybe Susan B Anderson, but it makes such a difference especially because it's kind of fiddley first.

Do you have any videos that teach or help with continental knitting? No matter how hard I try, I can never get enough tension to make my knitting look normal. I don’t know if I’m not holding the yarn correctly or what I’m doing wrong but I know it’s a faster way to net and I’d love to learn. Thanks for your time

Every time I try to knit socks usually this method on magic loop I get holes in between the 2 needles and I can’t figure out how to fix it I always make sure to pull the first and last stitches of each side super tight but it doesn’t seem to work could someone pls help me with this
Very little difference in the figure 8 cast on. When you use the slip knot why can't you add an extra st and drop the slip knot .
It’s hard to explain why but let me try...the way you cast on makes it so that if you drop the slip stitch it doesn’t disappear. Try it and you will see.
