Adding Syncopation to Sequences

- It's easy for a synthesist new to modulars to fall into the rut of just recreating their normal synths with their new toy. This video demonstrates how a unintentional tech mishap led to a different approach for patching a sequenced voice, including why you should strongly consider adding a control voltage processor and clock multiplier/divider to your modular system if you haven't already.
Great example of the variable divider / gate time to drive the filter envelope in a sequence!
Very cool. I love the syncopated rhythm this creates. Must try this.
I need to revisit this 👌
Excellent video. Very clear and detailed.
Thank you. This was a warm-up for a full course I did on modular synthesis: bit.ly/LearnModular
Awesome tutorial, and a great teacher.
Helpful as always
Enjoyable demo!
Thanks! Great info and nice sounds!
Very good tutorial.
Very good information, thank you!
For those who don't have the Roland 572, the Doepfer A-162 dual trigger delay works well for that application.
I just got one of those myself!
I love combining the original gate with the delayed gate into an "OR" - can really humanize the rhythm. With heavy ratcheting can emulate mallet percussion technique.
Cool idea. I've been using delayed gates to trigger a second envelope, to help create "plucked" and double-stick type sounds.
Cool thank you. Really instructive!
Good stuff! I need to get a switch and more clock modulation devices to create self generative patches without a sequencer.
Great demonstration Chris!
Thank you - it was a real case of making lemonade from lemons!
great tutorial 👍🏻
Great video!
Nice!
